(en) US, First Annual East Bay Anarchist Bookfair: Conversations & Books

In the city of Oakland, on Ohlone land, in November of 2012 we will be hosting the first
annual East Bay Anarchist Bookfair: Conversations & Books. This event will present the
projects and people that have comprised the East Bay Anarchist community for decades. Our
website is at http://eastbayanarchist.com --- Dates & Location --- The event will be held
at the Humanist Hall 390 27th Street, Oakland, CA, 94612-3104 on November 17th. The event
will include conversation and books during the day and entertainment during the evening.
---- How to request a conversation ---- Unlike a traditional bookfair, our event is going
to emphasize conversations, for both people who are new to anarchist ideas and as well as
experienced radicals and activists. We would like our introductory conversations to be
respectful, thematic, and facilitated by experienced people.

Proposed themes so far have included Nature, the event, violence, and Crisis. Our other
conversations will involve developed conversations about anarchist practice (eg activism)
and ideas (ie theory). If you have a conversation idea or are an experienced facilitator

How to request a table

The main room of the hall will include booksellers, distributors, independent presses and
activist groups from all over North America but with an emphasis on the Bay Area and
California in general. If you?d like to table this year, provide a short description of
your group and the materials you intend to distribute. The fee for tabling at the event is
10% of your sales (minimum of $20 which is due once table confirmation). The deadline to
