The purpose of this collection is to relay the work of the association "Out of 
colonialism," organizer since 2006 anticolonial weeks. It was created on the occasion of 
patriotic-racist excesses of the previous government, culminating in the Act of 23 
February 2005, and his sinister "positive role" of colonization.

The association wants to challenge this "creeping rehabilitation" in publishing short 
books, stories, texts, articles propaganda that remember what it was like to be rebellious 
at the time of the war in Algeria , to be black or Arab in France in the sixties ... 
reminiscent also what were the struggles of those who denounced, protected the victims of 
colonialism, engaged against a State hyper-violent but began to doubt.

The choice of texts is always original, often poignant, but always presented in a simple 
and practical: indeed we feel that the publisher is to create a tool for the militant arm, 
the anticolonial by giving irrefutable arguments of history, facts, words of the 
protagonists. This efficiency one feels a sense dictated by powerful activist, anger and 
indignation intact.

Each book is structured in an incisive, sometimes in the form of ABC, without frills for 
nerds, but presented by experts in issues of colonialism - Gilles Manceron, Achille 
Mbembe, Tramor Quemeneur. Reading really pleasant, quick, these works form an intelligent 
introduction to the subjects they cover and make you want to know more, of course, but 
also as essential to maintain the vigilance anticolonial, antiracist, at the heart of our 
activists.

United States: Wobblies and hobos Joyce Kornbluh, eds. The Insomniac

We knew the Wobblies, the nickname given to our comrades of the Industrial Workers of the 
World (IWW). And we also knew Hobos, or vagabonds, U.S. legendary early twentieth century, 
Steinbeck immortalized, or Aldrich in The Emperor of the North.

It is less known is that their roads have continued to intersect and sometimes confused. 
Obsessed with the idea of ??uniting all workers, not just roam the Wobblies all guilds to 
create sections, but all environments including crossing the border between workers and 
the unemployed, between blacks and whites. Unheard of in 1905, the year of creation of the 
IWW.

For the Wobblies, the important thing belonging to the disadvantaged class. The miner, 
blacksmith, mechanic syndicated today was the hobo yesterday, found in the "jungles" 
(temporary communities of hoboes) warmth and comfort, where he tramps surprised to hear 
sing IWW songs!

mills in Lawrence, Massachusetts, in Paterson, New Jersey, in the mines of the West and 
Northwest sawmills. They are slaughtered in the Mesabi iron mines, or Youngstown (sung by 
Springsteen) and cities where iconic figures like Joe Hill are performed by bumps Copper - 
copper patterns.

Richly illustrated, along with a CD of work songs, union songs, the texts of the period 
are truly relive the atmosphere. On violence and cynicism incredible, it was also the time 
when the idea of ??revolution was fresh and lively, it was a question of getting the right 
word, by means of leaflets, drawings - for those who could not read - at the discretion of 
roads, farms and workshops. But far from being candid, these texts demonstrate the 
contrary, serious revolutionary Wobblies, and the liveliness of a class consciousness 
which the official history of the United States would say that it never existed. The CD 
shows that it is difficult to silence the voices of black bluesmen like Blind Willie Mc 
Tell, or Bukka White reminiscent of the cry Unite!, Or One big union (one big union) found

39 Policy: The Use of Utopia - Utopia trails film book Fr?meaux Isabelle and John Jordan

Activists of the environmental movement, players Climate Camp in 2007 Heathrow Airport, 
Isabelle Fr?meaux and cameraman John Jordan are the founders of a community project 
"post-capitalist utopia" called Bramble, Brittany. Road to Utopia traces the prehistory of 
this project. In search of self-management experiences perennial, the authors have 
embarked on a journey of seven months through eleven of these places - villages, 
neighborhoods, factories - where utopia in the present. Their book-film flirts with travel 
literature, to better express the actual existence of this also tried here and now.

Christiania, Longo Mai Marinaleda ... most homes are self famous. The book is a mine of 
information on these concrete utopias and political references: direct action, 
self-management, sustainable agriculture techniques, new ways to sensuality. But what 
makes the strength of the speech is to always focus on the political dimension of these 
lifestyle choices. Already, none of these emancipatory projects is arbitrary. Less born of 
the dream of the fight, they are all made in response to social crises real and practical 
experiences of the protagonists who have founded: ecological crisis, food, housing, 
employment. The second aspect itself resides in the political work of deconstruction of 
social hierarchies inherited from the common moral, or capitalism, consumer 
society-overproduction. Living a social organization reinvented finally egalitarian, 
libertarian, respectful of both the nature of society and individuals, as is the 
successful bet these communities, an example to follow. Although sometimes with great 
modesty, the authors also point to the limitations of these "imperfect paradise" 
equilibrium points not found (between creative resistance and withdrawal lifestyle, 
between utopia and reality principle ...) . All their own thinking to build an 
alternative, they lead the reader and this is the great merit of the book, while the film 
offers a more personal vision to bridge between political experience, intimate experience, 
affective, aesthetic.

Classics of subversion: Rosa Luxemburg by Peter John Netti

Reissue the biography of Rosa Luxemburg by Editions Spartacus is an opportunity to 
chronicle this book that tracks all the debates and events that marked the revolutionary 
movement of the early twentieth century. Will address the Russian Revolution of 1905, the 
great controversies of revisionism, the great betrayal of social democracy during the war 
of 1914 and finally the Russian and German revolutions during which Rosa Luxemburg 
experience a tragic end.

Rosa Luxemburg was not 20 years old when, already an activist, she fled Russian Poland 
where she was born to study in Switzerland. Here she shares with other militants from the 
same source a specific vision of the struggle for socialism which leads to reject the 
struggle for the independence of Poland, for this reason to break with the Polish 
Socialist Party. She then moved to Germany to participate in the fighting while the SPD 
is, by its size and consistency, the model for all parties of the Socialist International. 
To better understand the following, you should know that this party worker includes both 
revolutionary reformers. She becomes propagandist journalist, but also a teacher. We may 
regret that his place as a woman is relatively little attention when it is regularly 
subjected to attacks due to her sex.

Within the SPD, it will contribute decisively to the fight against revisionism who claimed 
to "revise" the doctrine of Marx by showing that socialism would come through the struggle 
for reforms, not revolution. The Russian Revolution of 1905 will be an opportunity for her 
to theorize the mass strike as a means of political action. His radical positions will 
make it increasingly isolated within the SPD. This drift in a right-wing, fully support 
the war of 1914-18 the side of Germany. She comes out and participates in the structuring 
of a revolutionary opposition around the Spartacus group, whose work will culminate in the 
winter of 1918-19. Shortly after founding the KPD (German Communist Party), Rosa Luxemburg 
find death in January 1919 at the hands of the Corps Francs (paramilitary groups against 
revolutionaries) who are allied to his former comrades of the SPD.

We find in this book the description of a communist thinking very different from Leninism. 
Rosa Luxemburg did not see the revolution as a result of the action of the party 
representing a vanguard only able to direct and control the process. Instead, she sees it 
as the result of a dynamic where the soldiers' councils, workers, farmers, practicing mass 
democracy play a decisive role, without ruling elite.
