(en) Italy, Rome: Against austerity policies we are linking worker struggles all over Europe (it)

The meeting of the European Network of Alternative and Grassroots Syndicalism will take 
place in Rome on 26 and 27 January 2013 in the CUB premises at Via Ponzio Cominio 56, 
reachable by Metro line A (get off at Lucio Sestio). ---- For over a year now the Network 
that the USI helped to build has had its own Declaration of Principles and its own 
organizational level, albeit partial for now. ---- Today is an important moment for the 
USI in the building of real opposition to the austerity that is being imposed by the 
IMF-ECB and EU... which workers and citizens have been opposing for months in various 
European countries. For this reason the USI is organizing a new meeting of the Network in 
Rome, which will be a unique opportunity for labour activists within alternative 
syndicalism to meet comrades who, on an international level, are building opposition and 
social conflict against the plans of capital.

The meeting of the European Network of Alternative and Grassroots Syndicalism will take 
place in Rome on 26 and 27 January 2013 in the CUB premises at Via Ponzio Cominio 56, 
reachable by Metro line A (get off at Lucio Sestio).

The meeting will see the participation of the Spanish CGT, Solidaridad Obrera, also from 
Spain, a Catalonian union, Solidaires from France, the French CNT, SUD from Switzerland, 
TIE from Germany and hopefully the ESE from Greece.

For this occasion the three Italian unions which are members of the Network (CUB, CIB 
Unicobas and the USI) have prepared a joint document and will be proposing a joint day of 
action to be held on May Day.

The USI will also be proposing a European conference on the theme of Education in late 
June, preferably in Rome.
