PUBLIC STATEMENT ---- A Arica community, our partners and colleagues and the union, to our 
beloved families, our class brothers who struggle every day to dignify their working 
conditions. Given our strike deposed on Thursday April 4, and for all that our union has 
been through, we stated: ---- 1. We present the community that the company Pioneer-Dupont 
Arica , which is part of the transnational integrated Dupont, last year contributed 20% of 
profits into the coffers of giant Dupont, wealth has come at the cost of selling our 
workforce, that sale has been characterized with: starvation wages, poor working 
conditions and union practices. For these shameful conditions, we decided together with 
our sisters and brothers of the union, starting this strike, this strike did not ask 
beyond just, do not ask beyond what it deserves our dignified employment status in this 
company.

2. We want you to be aware that this is the first union created in the history of the 
company worldwide. So this mobilization was the first experience of union struggle of our 
comrades. For this reason the company is initially developing mobilization and positioned 
in a very severe and uncompromising, because this attitude not only responds to a 
situation purely economic, but rather political, to stand as a colossus reaching business

3. Already in the fourth week of mobilization workers never got to lower the arms and the 
effort it takes to fight at this stage of the year, a strike coming in March and debt

by themselves, this fight is for the dignity of our families. However, we emphasize that 
this fight has given us a lot of learning, and the fact that we understand how valuable 
such as organized labor, and the unit in direct action for our rights makes the difference
