This is a Demo called by Axe the Tax and Huddersfield Anarchist League to support two 
local anarchists who were brutally arrested after an occupation of Barclays Bank towards 
the end of an anti bedroom tax demo in Huddersfield on 6th of April. The two are up on 
charges under the Public Order Act 1983 section 5 Disorderly Conduct, in other words 
remonstrating with an extremely provocative bank manager when we occupied his bank. As if 
the banks haven?t been disorderly enough. ---- What is of note worthy was the amount of 
protestors and bystanders who were willing to use direct action to try to prevent the 
arrest. Is this an indication of the future conduct of the people of Huddersfield when 
resisting authority? We hope so. ---- Huddersfield Anarchist League has been prominent 
locally in a number of high profile occupations and actions that have out witted the 
police and gained local press attention showing the merits of direct action.
