The subtitle of the book " The New Face of female alienation "clearly announces the 
thesis Mona Chollet. Women are brought to the roles and areas that are traditionally 
theirs and this is reinforced by the economic and social crisis that pushes companies to 
close. Political disenchantment, lack of ideal growing to meet the demands permanent use.
Film, advertising, TV, women's magazines, impose a single model of woman: white, young, 
slim, sexy and primed. And women are exhausted trying to comply for fear of not being 
loved, of being rejected: consultation and commentary on fashion and beauty blogs, buying 
accessories, cosmetics consumption, obsession with thinness of up 'to anorexia (which we 
deny the social dimension in order to retain the character of individual psychological), 
plastic surgery, hair removal imposed straightening and depigmentation.
