(en) Palestine-Israel, The focus of the joint struggle move to locations where the direct actions have possible achievements*

The joint struggle started against the separation fence and its specific route which used
to robe lands of villages and even to transfer them. The struggles brought some partial
victories and promoted the joint struggle of Israeli activists, Palestinian grass root
comities and internationals. The local, and more so the international awareness to the
struggle against the occupation and the persistent efforts of transfer by Israel succeeded
to slow the transfer but had not put end to it... nor to the occupation. The present focus
of the joint struggle now is on the efforts to curb the gradual transfer efforts within
Israel, area C in the occupied west bank, and the East of Jerusalem, and the international
B.D.S. - Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions.

Arkib

Arkib village struggle against demolition (more than 50 times) was the focus of struggle
against the Praver plan to demolish most of the Bedouin villages in the south of Israel
and transfer their inhabitants in the name of "relocation" to concentration open Ghettos.
The joint struggle involve regular joint demonstrations and direct actions against
demolitions. The following report is just a glimpses of it: "Amir and I are back and safe
after spending couple of hours at Beer-Sheva police station. We were detained and
interrogate for a peaceful demonstration against the racist governmental Prawer-Begin
plan. Heading out from the police Jomah told me the government post the notorious bill in
the Knesset and it will be voted Wednesday or next Monday! Please join us against this
terrible plan that will relocate thousands and cause demolition of many of the villages!"

Ma'asra

On Friday the 24th of May around 17 internationals, including a rabbi and members of his
congregation from Edinburgh, one Israeli and about 25 Palestinians gathered in al Ma'asra
to protest the continuing occupation, the development of settlements and the building
Separation Wall which will soon cut off the village and others around it from their lands.

We marched through the village to the entrance of Um Salamuna where we were confronted
with about 30 soldiers who blocked our path, from there we marched down to the road where
we were again prevented from walking. A cat and mouse chase ensued as we made it make to
the entrance of the village where we sat on the very hot road in protest of the soldiers
presence in the village. After more chanting and a couple of speeches the popular
committee decided to end the protest, thanked the people for coming and we walked back to
the village. As we left however the soldiers followed in an act of provocation rather than
leaving from the entrance to the village.
The now 6 year protest in al Ma'asara continues.....

Nabi Saleh

Friday 24/05/2013

Activists on the ground in Nabi Saleh report that prior to the Friday demonstration
starting, 4 Israeli military jeeps entered the village and IOF soldiers spread themselves
across the hills and occupied the gas station waiting for the march to start. Once the
demonstrated started, the IOF began firing teargas, rubber bullets, stun grenades and
skunk. Skunk is being deliberately fired at residential homes and IOF have also fired
rubber coated steel bullets into houses, breaking windows.
The Ramallah-area community of Nabi Saleh, joined by Israeli and international solidarity
activists, marched this Friday to protest the continuing closure of one of the main roads
leading out of the village, as well as the ongoing occupation and land land theft by the
state of Israel and the settlers. The IOF immediate responded with barrages of tear gas,
rubber bullets and putrid skunk water. The skunk truck sprayed smelly liquid all over
residential homes as an act of collective punishment for the villagers' demand for justice
and peaceful life. Several people suffocated from the tear gas, but not serious injuries
reported.

Don't Say We Didn't Know 363

In the early 1950s, the State of Israel transferred the Bedouin tribe of Abu Al Ki'an from
its lands near Kibbutz Shoval in the northern Negev, to an area near Kibbutz Lahav. Later,
in 1955, the tribe was transferred once again, this time to the area of Yatir, south of
the West Bank. Oral promises were made to give them much land for their use in the new
area in place of lands from which they were uprooted.
In 1964 the State began to plant Yatir forest, promising - again, not on paper - that the
tribe members would be able to continue to graze their flocks in the woods. After a while
they were banned from entering with their herds.
Now the State wishes to evict them again to nearby Hura town. The fact that Hura has no
vacant lots does not prevent the authorities from demolishing the Bedouins' homes. On
Thursday, May 16, 2013, government agents came to the village of Atir, escorted by large
forces of police, Border Police, and Green Recon Unit. They uprooted 450 fruit and olive
trees, and demolished 8 dwellings, 10 service structures and sheep pens. Water tanks,
farming equipment and other property were hauled out of the rubble and transported by
trucks to the Duda'im waste site, where they were dumped.

Tel Aviv

Social struggle

Thursday, few dozens participated in the weekly demonstration in the affluent neighborhood
of the Treasury minister from Shuster center to minister home.

Saturday, another 3 hour demonstration focused on the gift of gas resources to tycoons. We
were few hundreds participants who marched at first from the diamond center in Ramat Gan
to the home of the resources minister. After the noisy visit we flooding the main road on
the and blocking a highway between Tel Aviv and Ramat Gan cities during a protest against
the privatization of natural gas found in the Mediterranean seaway to the national theater
compound where the president and other dignitaries recreated in the Cultural Hall. Dozens
of state forces tried in vain to block our way with minimal results.
