Brazil, Federation Anarchist Gaucha (FAG) denounces invasion its headquarters in Lower City (pt)

The act of Thursday (21) in Porto Alegre ended late in the evening, with eighteen people 
arrested and traces of heavy confrontation with police. However, even before the first 
flags appear in the Plaza Montevideo, an operation conducted in the afternoon showed the 
first day in disagreement involving demonstrations in the capital. Anarchist militants 
denounce the headquarters Gaucha Anarchist Federation (FAG) was raided by police who 
carried no warrant for search and seizure, while police have said that in fact an action 
was performed, but there was a warrant. ---- According to Lorena Castillo, militant FAG, 
"ten to fifteen police, who said the Federal Police (the searches, however, would be 
confirmed by the Civil Police) , the headquarters of the federation broke around 16 
o'clock Thursday afternoon ".

Located in Venezianos Lane, in the Cidade Baixa, the Athenaeum Battle of the Meadow is a 
political-social anarchist movement, which are also held debates and cultural soirees. 
Lorena says, although it has not been possible to realize all the consequences of the 
police operation, were taken several promotional materials and advertising of current 
anarchist.

In October 2009, the Gaucha Anarchist Federation also reported to have suffered from an
invasion of police forces. At the time, computers were taken with personal information of 
members and the organization's data. This time, claim to have lost, at first, only parts

possible to confirm the objective of the operation's headquarters FAG, the sheriff said he 
was unaware the exact address: "I believe it was in the Lower City," he said. However, 
Ranolfo Vieira Jr. said the operation was, rather, done with a warrant for search and seizure.

Militants of the anarchist movement that operates in Porto Alegre argue that "there is an 
intention to condemn political and ideological movement". "The violence yesterday 
(Thursday) were not our responsibility, "said Lorena Castillo. On Wednesday (19), the 
newspaper Zero Hora even published that "international anarchists" orient militants from 
Porto Alegre to adopt "guerrilla tactics" in the protests.
