In Bordeaux, a group was formed against the masculinist mobilization of some students of 
the Institute of Political Studies (IEP). He is now being sued by the management of the
institution. ---- It is not good to be a woman and a feminist at IEP Bordeaux. Creating 's 
To-Edge , a student association reflection on gender, was definitely the last straw for
some students, who then create, in December 2012, a page on the Facebook social network, 
entitled "Dare to men." Their masculinist orientation was clear. It read: " Even within
our walls we are now in the minority! Talk and save your jobs, make use of the 
appointment. Parity encloses man in his sexual condition and reduced to a penis. Why 
should we sell our place under the pretext of being born with a third member? "For these 
high school students, the highest levels of elitism can not be contaminated by gender.

Following complaints from teachers, the page is closed January 21, 2013, to be reborn the 
next day under the title "Dare masculisme." The organization At-Edge a screening debate
leads to a rampage on the page, up to incitement to rape.

Feminists are organized

To retaliate, to Bordeaux is a feminist collective of students composed and students, but 
also activists or members of staff of the institution. Their purpose is not simply to 
denounce these acts, but to point out the larger springs of male dominance in higher 
education, which promote their emergence. In Bordeaux, as elsewhere, a majority of faculty 
teaching are men (95% in this establishment). Meanwhile, sexist practices are common in
higher education, particularly in the offices of the students, whose activities "festive" 
often based on the "humor" gritty and sexist and homophobic stereotypes. These activities 
are regularly minimized in terms of tradition "schoolboy" student, instead of being fought 
for what they are: serious violence, learning to women and men in training to take on the 
role that their is available in a patriarchal society - sex objects or consumers.

Complaints Management

On February 19, the direction of the IEP announces the filing of two complaints. The first 
is the creator of the "Dare masculisme" page. But the second attack the feminist 
collective: it is filed against X for defamation. Symmetry is established between the two 
camps, feminists have made the mistake of not treating masculinist as isolated, but as the 
product of a system of male domination pr?gnant the IEP. However, the group continues to 
expand its control. It held a general meeting on April 10 feminist. It demanded the 
withdrawal of the complaint as well as concrete measures to fight against sexism in higher 
education: the appointment of responsible es mission gender equality in institutions, 
staff training on these issues, generalization lessons on gender, etc.. An appeal has been 
launched to support around these claims, and has already attracted more than a thousand
signatures.
