France, Alternative Libertaire AL #228 - World Social Forum: The active boycott of Tunisian libertarian (fr)

The World Social Forum (WSF) held in Tunis from 26 to 30 March in the University of Tunis 
El Manar. Tunisian libertarians have given rise to the challenge in this controversial 
Forum. ---- Social forums allow many activists, trade unionists, associations worldwide to 
meet, to meet and exchange [ 1 ]. But it is a tool that has its limitations: it is what 
the disobedience movement, a newly created Tunisian libertarian movement, whose members 
have actively participated in the revolution, sought to highlight in the same forum. He 
has decided to boycott without the boycott is provided liability. ---- Social forums bring 
together many anti-liberals, who do not necessarily want to challenge capitalism, but only 
to correct the excesses.

Local people are often excluded from making forums. The entrance to the WSF Tunis was well 
paid, and the registration fee to organize something were too Educated to grassroots 
groups with limited resources. But FSM served mainly as a political showcase. In the 
current Tunisian context, it was a challenge to the bureaucratic part of the General Union 
of Tunisian Workers (UGTT), the main Tunisian union, just like the Ennahda government. 
This was offset the negative image that our media refer to Tunisia (political chaos, 
excessive media coverage of the Salafists, etc..) And try to earn a respectable image.

Came with libertarian France (including members of AL), Poland, Italy, Disobedience 
movement has invested a space in even the WSF. The Self camp with press tables and a 
kitchen attached which offered meals a dinar, was held throughout the week. The space was 
occupied day and night, and several initiatives were organized.

Libertarian space

Alongside the General Union of Tunisian Students (UGET), officially announced its 
withdrawal from the FSM due to the presence of Zionist organizations, activists 
disobedience organized an anti-capitalist and anti-Zionist event in the Forum to protest 
against compromise organizers with power. Support for workers in the mining area of ?? 
Gafsa, which had been shot the day before, it was said.

Libertarians have organized their own general assembly on Friday 29. The speech was given 
in particular to the maids of the Forum, which sometimes worked thirteen hours a day and 
that overtime was not paid. We could also hear the African refugee camp es Shusha, the 
Libyan border, which are blocked for two years in the wilderness. The responsibility of 
imperialist wars in this situation was highlighted. A street AG was held in the center of 
Tunis on the closing day of the Forum, to create a popular floor space.

For this active boycott, the comrades of disobedience were able to bring the dispute to 
the Forum and its contradictions point. Self-organization and political takeover 
experience, it was also a time of warm meetings and exchanges between libertarian comrades 
on both sides.
