Friday, February 14, two miners were attacked with knives in the Saint John area by 
right-wing activists. The escalation of violence in this area for many years and many 
fascist attacks and Lyon in France must mobilize everyone to demonstrate that public space 
is not the fascists. ---- For several years, we are witnessing an increase in serious 
assaults committed by right-wing extremists throughout France. Clement Meric assassination 
in Paris, attack gun in Clermont-Ferrand against a concert support undocumented attacks 
bars and associative areas (the "vice versa" in Lille, the "Buck Mulligan's" Tours ...), 
activists and ordinary citizens targeted for their ideas or their physical appearance. --- 
These attacks are part of a context of reactionary mobilizations (AKI for all, Day of 
Wrath ...) decomplexing right-wing discourse. The lack of concrete reaction of the powers 
that have fostered a sense of entitlement and impunity led to the escalation of violence.

Lyon is no exception to this observation: Assault 3 unionists St John in 2010, attempted 
murder in Villeurbanne, beating band with iron bars, a former militant, physical assault 
of a journalist; racist attack a couple Duguesclin street.

Friday, February 14, two youths were stabbed by right-wing activists in St Jean. This 
attack is the latest in a long series in this neighborhood. Extreme right-wing groups have 
been trying for several years to spread terror in it, they seek to capture. The most 
striking is the existence for 3 years of local identity "The Traboule" Ascent of Change 
example.

These events are intolerable and we denounce the lawless area that is now the Saint Jean. 
The mayor and the prefecture remain unresponsive despite the fact that many collectives 
and associations have alerted the past several years.

We denounce the lack of concrete policy responses.
We denounce the complacency of some courts against perpetrators.
We denounce the racist statements and state policies that maintain this foul weather.
The public space is not the fascists! Let the street, resuming our neighborhoods!
