As i am also in Lampedusa, a short comment to Nevas Email. yes, Its an interesting meeting with about 200 participants from various spectrums and hopefully ending with an useful charta. But the meeting is mainly composed by Italian movement and with only a few activists from other countries. And the more important limit: only a very few migrants are present.
Tomorrow the discussion should be continued on perspectives and coming mobilisations. and instead - as done by Neva below - to bring a very shortterm proposal on 1st of march on the top of the agenda (and to pretend a European dimension, which is not given as it is only discussed in italy ... while in Hamburg another demonstration will take place for other reasons...) I strongly hope and will try to support tomorrow, that the project of a transnational Caravan/march to brussels in June will become the main priority of further mobilisation in the Charta meeting of Lampedusa. This process of the transnational Caravan is really initiated by a coalition of groups of selforganised refugees, migrants, sans papiers from various european countries and it should be in the center of all next common mobilisations.
Best greetings,
hagen
