During Carnival, the Occupation Palmares was invaded twice by the Military and Police 
Floram, who overthrew a home without official order and also took all the belongings of a 
family. Below is the first video documentary on the Occupation Palmares, produced after 
that occurred. This video deconstructs the version used by the media of Florian?polis on

for Housing (FALM): ---- The last Saturday of Carnival, around 14 pm, Floram, Military and 
Police SHOCK authors were a criminal and disastrous operation in Occupation Palmares, 
located in Upper Caeira in range of Morro da Cruz (Florian?polis / SC). Threatening to 
confiscate (steal) the wood of one of the residents, the armed police left for the 
confrontation with residents and locals.

Women, men and children were atacadxs with pepper spray and some were hit by bullet 
clubbed and shot-to-rubber. One of the residents had to go to hospital due to a head 
injury. The cowardly assaults began verbally with police calling moradorxs of "shit". In 
addition to pushing a woman from a height of 2 meters, after firing the shots - and 
knowing that the legal support of activists and FALM was coming - cops left retreating 
among them commenting: "We shit!"
It is unacceptable that a truculent force of more than 10 police vans, riot and PM come 
pointing guns and batons against an unarmed population, children and entire families. On 
Saturday afternoon, the PM used his strength to attack residents and residents with rubber 
bullets, pepper spray and blows. Violence carried out on families with just protesting 
cause. A resident (Shepherd) had his head struck by a club where he suffered more than 5 
points, lodged against violence occasioned. There has never been a single paper signed 
allowing topple houses, on the contrary, there is "misappropriation" of madeirasm, 
appliances and personal belongings no refund permitted by these operations. It is

On Monday (March 3) in another illegal action of Floram with the aid of the effective PM, 
the dirty work was done. The house which had been knocked down by half this afternoon 
completely destroyed. Not only that, they took (ie stole) all woods, furniture and 
appliances of the residents. That's the carnival that the Municipality of Florian?polis 
led to these residents: no home, no NOTHING.
There is no housing policy, but there eviction policy.
