Argentina, Assault and Threats against social activists of the FOB in Rosario, Santa Fe by Federation of Base (ca, pt)

On Sunday March 23 near 18hrs social activist of the Federation of Base (FOB) Iris 
Velasquez was attacked at the door of his home, when he discovers the complete 
intentionally burning his bike (see attached photo). Previously he had called to threaten 
and warn the fact. Minutes later the same people who had made that phone call made to 
partner Emilio Crisi to death threats and warn him that he would be the next victim. ---- 
In recent years we have seen bands narcos shot them 3 militant Movement June 26 at Villa 
Moreno, the Jere, Mono and Patom peers. Also we have had to endure the murder of Merecedes 
"Mecha" Delgado Barrio Ludue?a hands of mafia gangs in the area. Our organization is not 
and has not been exempt from the scope of the actions of these gangsters that all they 
have done for years is to squeeze every neighbor and shoot the kids who got into the 
offense as currency in the absence of future decent work, something that the state at 
different levels left to do and in some cases has been complicit as recently known. 
miserably again and we have to make public a series of events that attempt to threaten and 
undermine our will and militant spirit, who drives us to want to change the world and seek 
a society without oppressors or oppressed.

For several years now we have been receiving these gestures gangsters to stop doing social 
construction that we have been taking place here and elsewhere in the country. The aim is 
to intimidate and to abandon the places in each neighborhood where we have been carrying 
out numerous community activities, cooperative work projects, gardens, craft workshops, 
libertarian schoolhouses, women's spaces, among others. It is clear that this political 
persecution suffered these power sectors, largely organized by us be independently lung, 
from below and outside the State. Clearly the job training, social inclusion and 
transformative practice bothers them power sectors, both institutional as well as 
narco-mafia. In conclusion we have to tell society and the media not only for over 2 years 
we have been getting consistently phone calls with death threats, text messages and 
e-intimidating voice, but also the last Sunday March 23 -a day that our federation out 
into the streets to protest against the state terrorism of the dictatorship and impunity 
for past and present-the companion Iris Velasquez was attacked at the door of his home, 
when he completely burned the bike and he made ??a telephone to alert the fact more and 
threatening actions against the organization called. Minutes after the attack and called 
this mafia gang made ??a second call to partner Emilio Crisi to tell who was the next to 
receive an attack in the future.

Since our federation have decided to go out through direct action, the only way I have 
below to achieve what was decided in assemblies, in order to seek justice and class 
solidarity of other organizations to these facts. We know that the narco-mafia gangs are 
not alone, they are also shaped by the police force and are protected by judges, lawyers, 
prosecutors, politicians, businessmen and networks of collusion with the State that a 
while ago this party started to show in the media and public opinion. amedrentaremos us 
not by threats and attack, we will not stand idly by when we are experiencing inflation, 
unemployment, social injustice, criminalization of social protest ... and now bombings and 
political persecution by organized gangs that have among their enemies autonomous social 
movements.

Here we publish the call for an act in solidarity to social, political, trade union and 
human rights to protest the attack to be held in Plaza San Martin (Santa Fe and Dorrego)

FOB Statement of Principles

The following principles that govern our daily lives, our membership and our operation as 
a social movement were approved at the Second Plenary of the FOB-May 2008 - and renewed in 
the III Plenary-December 2009 -. About our principles The Federation of Base comes in late 
2006 following a common practice we were developing various organizations. The short but 
rich experience of several years of struggle centered mainly in the suburbs of capital and 
large Bs As was our starting point of confluence which resulted in our first plenary at 
the villa lugano 20. Our struggles for health , housing, work, education, a decent sum for 
life confronts us with an unjust system where a minority concentrated wealth and power. 
That is the aim Social Change guiding our efforts from our everyday struggle, worthy men 
and women from our neighborhoods or workplaces. To transform the reality we think the 
organization has to be popular this happens where the struggle for life, in neighborhoods, 
at work, in schools and universities, in the streets or in prisons, organized from the 
base and from values . egalitarian and solidarity to achieve the social change that today 
we have to start building your own power of the popular classes and we agree to these 
principles:

Construction of Power Popular self-management that really calls into question the system 
that condemns the majority to live in inhuman conditions, deprived of all our rights, to 
health, to education, to work and decent housing, and also wants to deny us right to 
organize and fight. By popular self-management to understand it as the ability of the 
people, through their organizations, to solve problems based on their interests without 
delegated to anyone. From the present and as proposed for social change, always from 
below, never from above, beyond the governments.

Independence class as the only guarantee that the popular classes we manage to defend our 
interests, generating our own organizations.

Autonomy of our organizations on the state and its governments dye that is, NGOs, 
political parties, churches, businesses, unions and those who tell us what we need to do 
away with authoritarian structures of our reality.

Federalism. organized as a federation because we believe that the force that gives us 
unity comes from each of grassroots organizations and their development. Respect to 
general agreements as well as autonomy and characteristics of each organization allow us 
to build a common project.

Direct democracy as a way of making decisions in all organizational contexts to ensure the 
active participation of all colleagues.

Direct action . as a way to fight without intermediaries to meet our demands without 
waiting for solutions of the above
Self-management: as a form of free labor patterns and exploitation as an extended 
principle to all areas of the organization
Solidarity class: betting on the popular field unit in the fight against injustice.

. Gender Equality Under capitalism women suffer a double oppression, not only of the 
ruling classes but also suffers sexism, sexual exploitation, authoritarianism within the 
family, patriarchy. Our entire organization combat gender hierarchy because there is no 
real social change without a place of equality for women.

Organize the unorganized and unite the dispersed to reverse the dispersion and 
fragmentation seeking joint force class.

Ideological struggle. Often the ruling class does not need to resort to s prisons or 
repression to enforce their plans, with all appliances, media, education, spreading their 
ideas to confuse the masses and make us act according to their interests . The practice 
and dissemination of solidarity and egalitarian values, the exercise of other forms of 
organization, participation, consumption, finally, another way of seeing the world, are 
the way to contribute to the creation of a vision that expresses the interests our class.

Internationalism. Pointing to the alliance between the people and their organizations 
fight over internationalist, anti-imperialist and anti-capitalist perspective of social 
change bases.

Reconstruction of historical memory. remembering the historical struggles of the class and 
the fallen of our people. We are part of a historic struggle that we carry the popular classes

This is the way we decided to move and from which we will bring to the struggle for a more 
just society without exploiters or exploited, no oppressor and oppressed or in which we, 
as a people, masters of our own destiny.
