(en) Brazil, Uni?o Popular Anarquista (UNIPA) - First Anarchist Congress of Piau? (Conapi), 18 to 20 April, Teresina

Comrades, it is with great pleasure that we the People Anarchist Union (UNIPA) came to 
reinforce the call for the Piau? I Anarchist Congress, to be held on 18, 19 and 20 April, 
the Federal University of Piuai in Teresina. The congress is organized by the Group of 
Anarchist Studies of Piau? (GEAPI) and more information can be accessed through the site: 
http://conapi2014.blogspot.com.br/ ---- First, it is noteworthy that this Congress is not 
the result of chance, but of political and social conditions that are placed on our 
country. We are living in an environment in which the masses deepen old Electioneering 
rejection and opportunistic trade union and party bureaucracies practices, and anarchism 
is gaining momentum in the class struggle especially through courageous leadership in the 
fighting and in the practice of direct action. Several groups are emerging and anarchism 
proof is placed in the public debate.

However, this positive momentum is also big challenges is to tackle the bureaucracy and 
repression, is to face our own weaknesses. The guts and selflessness are essential values, 
however, to wage a serious revolutionary struggle in our country need more than that. A 
theory and a correct mass line (union, popular student), which account point the following 
paths is necessary. The liberation of the working class requires more than good 
"intentions", requires concrete answers anarchists to fight the bourgeoisie, repression 
and bureaucracies, and to build a new type of mass movement-Revolutionary Syndicalist.

That is why I believe the Conapi can be an important area of debate, articulation and 
routing, it catches the comrades present to face the tough task of revolutionary struggle 
in our country. Be assured that this Congress strengthens the conviction of many workers, 
youth, students, to raise the black flag of anarchism. In the year of the bicentenary of 
the birth of Mikhail Bakunin, 150 years after the creation of the International Workers 
Association (IWA) and the 80th anniversary of the death of Nestor Makhno, we must 
strengthen our commitments and our coherence with this glorious history and revolutionary 
anarchist tradition. No step back, comrades!
