Australia : Anti-gay groups are fighting back‏

Anti-gay groups are fighting back – because we're starting to win.
We have until TOMORROW to raise enough to keep going. Will you chip in now?
Dear,
We did it! On Monday, All Out members took the explosive outrage about the Government's Budget straight to Parliament – asking them not to fund groups that include anti-gay chaplains in Australian schools.
Now anti-gay groups are fighting back. They’re trying to dismiss us as anti-Christian or alarmist – and things are really heating up in Canberra. Together, we've taken our inclusive message to politicians and they're starting to hear us. But if we slow down now, we won't be able to counter the lies and smear.
If enough of us chip in right now, here's what we could do:
  • Blanket the Facebook feed of every politician and their staff with ads about our petition. They won't be able to miss us every time they use their phones and computers
  • Place ads in newspapers and expose the truth about the Budget across the country
  • Put people on the ground in Canberra to keep talking to politicians Fund research so we can show just how much damage can be done by chaplains who don’t stick to the rules and protect LGBT kids
  • Commission polling that clearly shows how few Australians support this policy change
We've made such an amazing start together but we've only got until TOMORROW before Parliament closes. To keep going it will take all of us, chipping in just a few dollars each, and we could super-charge our plans to protect vulnerable LGBT students from anti-gay chaplain organisations who are set on doing the wrong thing. Will you chip in now?

This is how we could show every kid across Australia – especially lesbian, gay, bi, trans and questioning kids – that together we're fighting for safe and fair schools. And we're up against a lot.
Just last week, Access Ministries chaplains at Torquay College were found guilty of distributing a "Biblezine" that says being gay is a sin – at a Christmas concert to kids as young as 7!
A teacher in WA has told how her school had a chaplain who handed out anti-gay leaflets and refused to provide care for a gay student, even after other students threatened him and beat him up.
There are lots of great counsellors and chaplains in schools – but together we could close the loopholes that allow rogue, untrained chaplains into schools. Even better, we could stop the organisations with links to anti-gay extremists in Uganda, Russia and around the world, from ever applying for chaplain funding again.
We've got until tomorrow. Can you make a small donation now?

Together, we've made a huge difference around the world. All Out members raised $60,000 in just three days to evacuate 13 Iraqi gay and trans people who were being targeted by militia. In France, more than 325,000 All Out members spoke out for marriage equality and funded an ad in Le Monde, France's largest newspaper. Together, we built critical public momentum and the marriage equality law was passed on May 18, 2013.
When All Out members come together to fight for equality, we know we have what it takes to win.

Thanks for going All Out,
Andre, Hayley, Jeremy, and the rest of the All Out team.

P.S. This federal budget has cut deeply into a lot of Australia's most important services, and people across the country are preparing to fight for what matters to them. If we can make sure LGBT youth are a part of this budget debate, we could get the support of a lot of people who might be focussed on other issues. Together, we're building a powerful, broad force for good. Please make a donation: https://www.allout.org/ australia-donate
