Chip in to make Valentine’s Day matter.
| |
Dear,
Andre here from Andre and Jeremy. In ten days, people all over the world will be celebratingValentine’s Day: one day to recognise someone you love.But in many places this isn’t an option. Because in 76 countries, love is still a crime.
That’s why Jeremy and I started All Out. We had a crazy dream that love should be for everyone.That we could find millions of people brave enough to fight for equality, even in places other people ignored. People like you, Luc.
But right now, I need your help to keep up our momentum. I have to get our 2015 budget approved by our financial board on Valentine’s Day. And I need to show we’ll have the financial power to ignite the most important fights.
If just 2,000 strong-hearted All Out members become ‘sustainers’ by giving a small monthly donation, we can superpower this movement and win big.
Every year, thousands of dollars are spent on presents, chocolates and flowers on Valentine’s Day. But if we each chip in just a few bucks a month to this movement, you can actually help change laws and save lives. You’ll be one of the most powerful forces for love and equality in the world.
In our budget, I want to superpower important fights in places with anti-gay laws. Or countries in Europe like Slovakia that are trying to ban gay marriage. Even in the US, lawmakers are trying to make discrimination against lesbian, gay, bi, and trans people legal.
Just by giving £5, €10 or $20 a month, you could help All Out do these things in 2015:
- Keep up the momentum we are already building – from standing up to anti-gay lawmakers in Virginia to getting Google to remove anti-gay slurs from its translation tool;
- Create more opportunities for All Out members to come together on the street and around the world;
- Launch urgent actions not just in 4 languages, but in 6 or 8 so we can reach more people in 2015 and beyond;
- Bring All Out's cutting-edge online tactics to even more places, powering grassroots partners around the world.
This is the biggest challenge of our times and you are one of the brave people on the right side of history. We need 2,000 sustainers by February 14 – will you help me make 2015 the year that love wins? go.allout.org/en/a/Valentines
Thanks to you, Luc, All Out is the only member-funded global movement for love and equality. That means together, we can take on the hard campaigns that do the most good.
Best of all, we know that what we do works. Last month alone, our voices were heard and the US state of Virginia stopped its scary anti-gay law. Google responded to our pressure and removed anti-gay slurs from its translation tool. And we helped get the EU to denounce an anti-gay law in Kyrgyzstan.
But to create a world where Valentine’s Day is available to everyone, I need your help. I have to get our budget approved by February 14. With your help, the budget can include the biggest, most important battles.
Thanks for going All Out,
Andre Banks
Executive Director, All Out
P.S. Did you know that out of all the money spent on human rights worldwide, only 6 percent is used to help lesbian, gay, bi, and trans people? That means that even though there are literally millions of gay and lesbian people facing danger everyday, just six cents out of every human rights dollar is spent on fighting for equality. But thanks to you, Luc, we can change that. With just a $5 monthly donation, you can help us fill this gap and make sure we win important battles for love. Will you give a Valentine’s gift that really helps love win? go.allout.org/en/a/Valentines
