Indiana just passed a bill that legalizes discrimination against lesbian, gay, bi and trans people. Other states could follow suit at any moment.

Dear Luc,
Last week, Indiana Governor Mike Pence signed into law a bill that allows companies to deny service to gay, lesbian, and bi people under the guise of “religious freedom”.That means doctors, teachers and lawyers could refuse to serve someone for being ‘too gay’.
But people are fighting back. Major corporations like Apple and Yelp have spoken out. Politicians like Hillary Clinton are speaking up. The Mayors of Seattle and San Francisco are even boycotting the whole State.
The pressure is working: Governor Pence is backpedaling. Better yet, a new bill is being proposed that would protect lesbian, gay, bi and trans people. A global outcry could push the Governor and legislators to sign it into law and undo the damage.
Since the bill was signed into law on Thursday, the state of Indiana has been the subject of a huge backlash from people all over the country, including Apple CEO Tim Cook, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, the City of San Francisco and Angie's List, which announced it was canceling a planned expansion in Indianapolis.
Governor Pence said he would seek legislation to clarify the intent of the law. But he has refused to explain how this legislation could offer protection for lesbian, gay, bi and trans people in Indiana.
In response, local group Freedom Indiana has proposed a new bill. This legislation is called the the “Fairness for All Hoosiers Act.” It's exactly what Indiana needs to undo the harm Governor Pence's anti-gay bill has inflicted on the state.
If we can build global support around the new bill, we could push Indiana legislators to pass it and make sure lesbian, gay, bi and trans people are protectedfrom discrimination.
In January, 166,551 of us signed All Out's petition against the anti-gay bill in Virginia. This law would have allowed doctors, teachers, and all companies to deny service to gay, lesbian, and bi people because of “religious and moral convictions”. Our partners in Virginia delivered all our signatures straight to the head of the voting committee - and they heard us. The subcommittee voted against the bill unanimously, so it will never be considered.
Will you sign now to make sure bills like these don’t come back?
