Dear friends,
Incredible news! It’s only been 48 hours, and nearly 500 All Out members chipped in to relocate Nina to safety.
Nina was threatened and abused by her brother and father in Jordan, just because she's transgender. She was beaten, isolated, and left with nowhere to turn. And now that All Out members from around the world have chipped in, our partner IRAP (International Refugee Assistance Project) will be able to resettle her to another country.
But I wouldn’t be writing to you if Nina was alone in her struggle. Countless other lesbian, gay, bi, and trans people are facing violence and death threats in their hometowns, just because of who they are. Without any support from their family or community, escaping can be even harder than other refugees.
If 1,000 more people chip in, we can relocate two more people like Nina to safety. Help us get there and chip in today:
People like Farid and Yusef, a gay couple from Syria. Yusef fled Syria after he was outed to his family by authorities. They're both living in Lebanon, where they’re still in constant danger of violence and harassment. Their families threatened them and banned them from coming home. And now they're stuck on their own, without any help to move to a safer place.
There’s no better time to build a global outcry for lesbian, gay, bi, and trans asylum-seekers than right now. Political leaders are negotiating humanitarian efforts, andpeople like Nina, Farid, and Yusef could easily be left behind.
Don’t let them get left behind. Chip in today and help get Farid and Yusef to safety:
Anything raised beyond our goal will go towards All Out’s work for other lesbian, gay, bi, and trans people facing discrimination and violence around the world.
Thanks for going All Out,
Andre and the rest of the All Out team
P.S. Lesbian, gay, bi, and trans asylum-seekers are some of the most persecuted people in the world. Will you chip in to help provide safe accommodations for Farid, Yusef, and others like them? go.allout.org/en/a/nina-jordan
