DEMONSTRATION SATURDAY 12 MARCH 2016 2pm at Johanneskirche Freiburg ---- For human rights
without borders! Against deportations and the great anti-refugee coalition! ---- 2pm at
Johanneskirche Freiburg ---- We advocate refugee politics that takes human rights
seriously. The upcoming elections offer no possibility for that, as all parties in
Baden-Württemberg were part of the large coalition that recently established major
restrictions to the rights of refugees. Further austerity measures are being planned. ----
Instead of feeling shame for the many deportations, whereby the police violently remove
refugees from the country, we now see politicians applauding the fact that the number of
deported people doubled last year. People are deported back to even Afghanistan. ----
Anyone taking the demand for “fighting the causes of flight” seriously should turn against
this economic system that robs numerous people of necessities of life and is responsible
for the mass flights. Exporting weapons should be banned!
We object to the concept of “safe countries of origin”,
whose sole, dangerous purpose is to divide refugees into
wanted and unwanted ones, and then disenfranchise the
unwanted, prevent them from integrating socially, and
deport them more quickly.
We call for assuming the historical responsibility toward
the Roma people from the Western Balkans so that they
be recognized as a discriminated minority and received
as refugees.
We call for an opposition to the right-wing populism that
is increasingly starting at the middle of the society as well.
Racism must be fought against firmly, nipped in the bud!
It is budding…
Together with the arriving people, we must fight for social
rights, affordable living, and sufficient income – for us all!
Numerous refugees in Freiburg, particularly from Serbia,
Macedonia, and Kosovo, are threatened by deportation. We
call for hampering and preventing the deportations, if
necessary also by means of civil disobedience.
We will not give in no matter what the outcome of the
elections. We align ourselves with the refugees and want
to together with you take a stand of solidarity:
Actively united against racism and deportations!

For 12 days at the beginning of February, members of the lWA Secretariat visited
Australia. A series of public events, workshops and visits with anarchist and libertarian
people took place. The trip promoted the ideas of anarchosyndicalism and presented the
types of workers actions that are possible, using successful actions of the lWA Sections
as an example. It was also a trip of goodwill and solidarity on the occasion of the 30th
anniversary of the ASF-lWA, our Australian section, and 60 years of the lWA in Australia.
(Both the Bulgarian and Spanish CNT in exile had organizations in Australia and tried to
carry on the legacy and spread anarchosyndicalist ideas in that country.) ---- Public
events were held in the largest cities in Australia – Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and
Perth. The talks were well attended, not only by members and supporters of the ASF, but by
a variety of other libertarian people. Workshops and discussions also took place. An event
was hosted by Jura Books and discussions took place in the Melbourne Anarchist Club.
Members of the ASF and the Secretariat also visited the last living veteran of the Spanish
Revolution in exile and another long time activist of the CNT exile, born in exile. On
behalf of the lnternational Workers Association, we wished them much health and happiness
and thanked them for their work in bringing the ideas of anarchosyndicalism and the lWA to
Australia.
During the trip, we also protested at the Spanish Consulate in Melbourne to demand the
release of puppeteers arrested by the Spanish state on trumped up charges. (One of them is
a comrade of the CNT-AlT.)
We also spoke to members of the ASF affiliated unions, the Telecommunications Workers'
Association and the General Transport Workers' Union. At the time of our visit, the former
was carrying out negotations with other unions on a enterprise agreement at one large
telecommunications company.
We were glad to see that there was a lot of interest in Australia and that the ASF is
going forward. We thank all the comrades of the ASF and others (Jura Books, MAC, etc.) for
their hospitality, for the nice receptions and the chance to meet and discuss.
Long live anarchosyndicalism in Australia and the whole world!

The Anarchist Federation of Mexico goes to you to know the police harassment that two
members of our organization suffered. ---- On 3 February at 15 hours, two men who
identified themselves as police officers presented themselves at the home of a member of
the Anarchist Federation of Mexico (FAM) asking if the fellow was there. Apparently, they
came on foot and carried on hands the photo of the FAM member. ---- On February 11, at 13
hours, in a sedan, gray oxford, in which four men were, came to the house of another
member of the FAM asking if he was in that residence, they identified themselves as
federal police Research and argument presented was "just want to know if he lives here
because we want to talk to him," in his hands carried a photograph of the companion. At
all times one of the men who was on board the car took pictures of the house and the
person who answered them. These events are in addition to the constant harassment that
since September last year the fellow has suffered in his residence. At different times and
in different cars they park in front of your house. In October last year they performed as
the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of agents asking for it.
For the Anarchist Federation of Mexico, dedicated to the public and open dissemination of
the organization and the anarchist ideal, the police harassment receiving is part of the
climate of repression and persecution that the federal government has undertaken against
social movements in the country, so we denounce this police harassment and the federal
government responsible for anything that might happen to any member of our organization.
The death government not only hunger, plunder, contempt and death governs and below, now
want to do it using fear, so we call for solidarity and life, joy and freedom no one Step
back!
fraternally

Cruel disregard of human life have been part of the capitalist package from the very
beginning. To the ruling class our lives are important only to the degree that we produce
profit they can exploit. In its latest neo-liberal incarnation, capitalism seems to have
embraced its murderous impulses on a grand scale. The frustrations of extracting profits
from an exhausted planet and its people have compelled the “job creators” to commit ever
more shocking crimes. The poisoning of Flint stands as grim testimony to the complete
contempt such people feel for the rest of us. To them, we are not quite human. ---- The
tragedy initially received regional media attention 2014, shortly after the
Republican-imposed Emergency Financial Manager switched Flint’s water supply from the
Detroit supply system to a local system using the nearby Flint River. EPA and state
reports indicating the poisonous content of the Flint River, a river thoroughly polluted
by General Motors and others [i], were willfully ignored.
The excuse given at the time was that it was a money-saving measure in a city teetering on
the edge of bankruptcy. Recent revelations have shown that even this poor excuse was an
outright lie. [ii]. The question then is why did the Republican-appointed Emergency
Manager make a decision that was so obviously sure to poison thousands of people?
One allegation is that it was a move to direct money away from Detroit, which at the time
was in bankruptcy and being vigorously looted by every sort of shady speculator, including
the selling of huge amounts of city real estate at what amounted to garage sale prices.
The Detroit Water and Sewage Department made efforts to keep Flint from switching to the
filthy water of the Flint River. They even offered their water at a reduced rate, one
which negated any savings the City of Flint would make by switching. Flint would have
actually SAVED money by staying with Detroit Water and Sewage. This was at a time when the
Emergency Manager in Detroit was ordering that their own residents face water cut-offs if
they couldn’t pay their bills.[iii]But the rightwing program of ethnic cleansing called
for the complete destruction of Detroit, so the people of Flint were poisoned instead.
The cause of the mass-poisoning of the residents of Flint can also be laid at the feet of
that innovation in capitalist extraction that has emerged in the last 25 years: Disaster
Capitalism. It had nothing to do with saving 15 cents on the dollar, and it wasn’t mainly
about diverting income from Detroit, it was about putting MILLIONS of dollars in public
funds into the hands of private, rightwing capitalists. These are the people who financed
the political campaigns that put the current gang of liars and murderers in power, and
they were just looking for their payback – At least $12 million dollars worth of payback
in fact. That’s what it was estimated it would cost to switch back to the Detroit water
supply in October of 2015.[iv]
Who took that money? Contractors, the biggest an engineering firm from Texas ($4 million),
with the help of the rightwing politicians who greased the way for them; many of whom can
be seen in this photo of the all-white group surrounding the governor as he approves the
aid package for Flint. [v]
Snyder has tried to blame the Flint City Council for the poisoning, but the facts tell a
different story. In 2013 the Council voted to help build a new pipeline that would allow
them to terminate their contract with the Detroit Water and Sewage Department, but the
decision to stop taking Detroit water and start using the Flint River was made much later
and by the Emergency Manager, at a time when the Council had no say in city decision-making.
“Snyder said that Detroit, after being informed of the Flint council vote, sent a “letter
of termination” of water service. Detroit sent a letter giving Flint one year on its
existing contract, but that didn’t mean Flint couldn’t get water from Detroit after that
date. In fact, there was a flurry of negotiations between Detroit and Flint to sign a new
contract that would carry Flint through until it could connect to the under-construction
pipeline.”[vi]
The Flint water crisis is an illustration of the essential criminality of capitalism, with
“disaster capitalism” taking the next step into open criminality. Those involved conspired
to create a disaster, then reaped huge profits from its implementation, and are now
reaping even greater profits from fixing the mess they made.
The greed-based, anti-human social and economic system we live in caused the poisoning of
the people of Flint. This does not in any way absolve the individual politicians and
capitalists who facilitated the disaster (they should all hang), but only places them in
perspective. The system didn’t fail in Flint; it failed to protect the people of Flint,
but that’s not what it was designed for. The system functioned exactly as it was supposed
to: the ruling class was able to stuff it’s pockets with money, the politicians were able
to pay-off their debts to them, and things are comfortably rolling on to the next election
cycle.[vii]
