	New Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced last week that his state is pulling out of the U.S. government's refugee resettlement program. Help us put pressure on Governor Christie to reverse this dangerous action.Donate now.   Dear friends, Last week, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced that the state is pulling out of the U.S. government's refugee resettlement program. This comes on the heels of Gov. Christie saying that the state would refuse to accept Syrian refugees—citing last fall's attacks in Paris. He even said he would block a 5-year-old orphan from being resettled in the U.S. If you are outraged by Governor Christie's actions—and the repercussions they could have across the United States, please make a donation to support Amnesty's efforts advocating on behalf of refugees. We must stop actions like Governor Christie's now. Amnesty is mobilizing our grassroots movement to demand that Governor Christie reverse his decision. We are mobilizing New Jersey residents to make calls to Governor Christie's office. We are leading a media campaign and training activists to write letters to the editor around the country to call attention to this decision. We have created a refugee support toolkit, which trains activists how to advocate on behalf of refugees in their communities. Anti-refugee rhetoric is getting louder, and those who bash refugees are setting a dangerous precedent. Everyone has the right to safe haven from persecution, and all governments have an obligation not to force refugees back into situations where they will be at risk.
