He told us, “It’s very bad life. The water is very dirty and not enough. There are no toilets in the tents, no medicines; we are human beings, not animals.” In March of this year, the Greek border was shut, effectively blocking refugee routes to safety. Almost 60,000 people — like Basel — are stranded in Greece, the majority in appalling conditions.
