Dear Luc, Last year, you gave someone a special gift — the gift of hope. Thank you. Your actions — combined with thousands of others — will help Amnesty reach more people, apply more pressure and tackle more human rights challenges. See what successes your actions made possible last year as we roll up our sleeves to get ready for the challenges that lie ahead. You give hope to every person Amnesty’s work touches: Americans who happen to be Muslim and suddenly fear that the country they call home feels unsafe. The Egyptian photojournalist Shawkan, who faces nine trumped-up charges and is at risk of the death penalty if convicted for taking photos of authorities cracking down on protesters. The Syrian mother who is trapped with her family in Greece. The family of Annie Alfred, a young girl with albinism who lives in Malawi and is at risk of bodily harm because of her condition. These are the people who depend on your actions. Please take a moment and celebrate what we have achieved together. Watch the successes we made in 2016. Then, we’ll roll up our sleeves and start the work ahead.
