Invitation for Press Conference about the Kurds

Dear member of the Press, We would like to invite you to the press conference on Tuesday May 9th, at 10.00am in front of the Palais de Justice, Brussels.  The Kurdish politician in Belgium are being prosecuted on "terrorism" charges at the insistence of the Turkish state, which has pressed charges as a civil party in the Belgian court case. The first verdict in this case was a great relief to all those concerned. The Brussels court ‘Raadkamer’ decided on November 3, 2016 that the Turkish-Kurdish conflict should be considered as an "armed conflict" and that the terrorism law can therefore not be applied. Not much later, however, the Federal Prosecutor's Office appealed against this verdict, which means the prosecution of the Kurdish organizations and individuals is continuing.
