Protect Women from Sexual Assault in Saudi Arabia! Sign Now Dear friends, People of many faiths all around the world recognize certain places as sacred sites; locations where important events happened, or spiritual energy flows freely. But for many Muslim women, when they take their sacred pilgrimages, it is also a time of rampant sexual assault as perpetrators vanish into the dense crowds. That's why Care2 member Raffia started a petition asking the Saudi Arabian authorities to take action to keep women safe from wandering hands. Sign Raffia's petition and urge Saudi officials to put safety measures in place to stop harassment and assault. Raffia says that many women have been sexually molested while in crowds during the holy pilgrimages of Umrah and Hajj. This has included inappropriate touching of women while they care for their elderly, wheelchair-bound mothers, breasts being fondled while touching the famous Ka'bah in the center of Islam's most sacred mosque, and bottoms being grabbed during busy times at tawaf. For some women, this violation of their personal safety has happened more than once. But it is nearly impossible to identify the perpetrator when they are just one person in a sea of people.
