Hello, and welcome back.
Here's your weekly guide to some of the most important human rights stories happening now around the world.
Countless women and girls have been brutally harmed and traumatized by the Burmese army's violence against the ethnic Rohingya in Burma's Rakhine State.
  • The army's use of mass rape is a horrific aspect of its campaign of ethnic cleansing against the Rohingya that has driven more than 600,000 people to flee to neighboring Bangladesh.
  • HRW researcher Skye Wheeler investigated these disturbing crimes, speaking with victims of sexual violenceon the ground in Bangladesh.
  • As one woman said, “They see us as nothing but leaves they can throw out."
