Demand Justice for Amnesty's Taner Kılıç Sign the Petition › Dear friends, I’m heading to Istanbul today to witness a trial for the Istanbul 10 and Taner Kılıç. They were arrested with the absurd charge of “membership of a terrorist organization.” The Istanbul 10 were released on bail last month, but Taner remains in jail. Take action now and ask Turkey to drop all charges against Taner and the Istanbul 10. Taner and the Istanbul 10 have dedicated their lives to defending the rights of others. They speak out for freedom, fighting for everyone in Turkey to be treated fairly. We will not rest until these baseless charges are dropped and they are unconditionally freed. Tell Turkey to drop the charges against our friends and colleagues. Taner Kılıç and the Istanbul 10 were just living their ordinary lives as human rights activists in Turkey when they were arrested. İdil Eser, head of Amnesty Turkey, was attending a routine workshop for human rights activists in Istanbul when the police raided the building and detained her and 9 others. These arrests are an attempt to silence critical voices within Turkey, but have only served to highlight the importance of human rights and those who dedicate their lives to defending them. I’m flying to Istanbul to witness the trial and pressure the Turkish authorities to drop all charges against Taner and the Istanbul 10. The time is now for you to join me and take action Luc, will you tell Turkey to release Taner and drop all charges against the Istanbul 10 now?
