Despite the French president's last speech in Africa, calling for a "  renewal  " of
relations between France and Africa, acts are far from official speeches. The (neo)
colonial domination of France is still present through the CFA franc or police and
military cooperation to "  maintain order  ". ---- The French president made a small
African tour at the end of November, during which he gave his speech to Africans in front
of students from the University of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso. The opportunity to present
the "  renewal  " he claims to embody ... in words, but still not in action ! ---- For
those who know Françafrique, Macron's oral shines through the omission or defense of the
main institutional mechanisms of this system of (neo) colonial domination: the CFA Franc
is justified by technical arguments [1], the military presence by the fight against
terrorism (going so far as to assert: "  you must only have one thing for the French
soldiers: applaud them !  " ), the impunity and the exfiltration by France of the former
president-dictator Blaise Compaoré during the uprising of the Burkinabé people in October
2014 passed over, etc.

Another subject missing from this speech as any official word of the French government in
issues of African diplomacy: police and military cooperation [2], including autocratic
regimes and criminals.

Tintin in Burkina , titled Survival on the Macron conference in Ouagadougou

This practice of sending advisers to the armed forces of "  friendly  " countries was put
in place during official decolonizations, and continued until today despite reforms and
constitutional developments. Today, they are mainly justified by a double-continuum
discourse between security and defense on the one hand ( "  the distinction between
security and external security is no longer relevant  " [3]) ; and between security and
development (the security of the citizens of a country is necessary for it to develop) on
the other hand.

The speech also puts forward a "  technical  " approach that would train the police to
suppress events less brutally ; sharing the "French  know-how  " mentioned by Michèle
Alliot Marie in 2011 during the Tunisian uprising. Admittedly, our police officers make
fewer victims than Togolese or Cameroonian armies (to take the last two examples), but the
regimes thus supported are often even more illegitimate than ours, given their conditions
of accession to power.

Diplomatic advisors from the shadows

The support, the provision of counselors and advisers, is often reinforced by the supply
of so-called "  security  " equipment, and with the financing of private or parapublic
French operators ... all this in the greatest opacity .

Thus, during demonstrations or uprisings in countries under cooperation agreement, French
diplomacy often calls for the measure, dialogue, sending back the demonstrators and the
power, while pursuing without blinking the support to the repressive apparatus of power
via police and military cooperation.

Fortunately, protesters and protesters from Burkina Faso did not listen to France's calls
for dialogue and restraint in 2014, while Blaise Compaoré wanted to tamper with the
constitution to stay in power ... this one would probably still be in place and supported
in the name of stability so dear to French diplomacy.

It is this same leitmotiv that, despite the rhetoric of renewal, justifies the French
support for a number of "  sustainable  " dictatorships of Françafrique, as in Gabon or
Togo (50 years of reign for the Bongo and Gnassigbe-Eyadema families respectively) .
Change is not to be expected from France, but from the capacity of peoples to rise,
despite the repressive forces that our country supports and strengthens !

Popular education workshop: The May 68 of the workers, history of the general strike in
Nantes. ---- Saturday, February 17 from 14:30 Nantes, Manufacture of tobacco - Room B.
---- 2018 marks the fiftieth anniversary of May 68. Moment of revolt of student youth and
sexual liberation, May 68 was also the largest general workers strike in France. While
Emmanuel Macron claimed to officially commemorate May '68, and while the weekly magazine
du Monde devoted a number to Romain Goupil, a 1968 high school student leader who had gone
into neo-conservatism, it's a safe bet that a whole section of May '68 disappears.
commemorations: the May 68 of the workers. It must be said that the macronism surrounding
has little interest in celebrating a victorious workers' struggle which allowed the
increase of SMIG of 35% and salaries of 10%, as well as a fourth week of paid vacation ...

Alternative Libertaire Nantes proposes a series of popular education workshops to revisit
the history of the general workers strike of May 1968 in Nantes. These workshops are part
of a broader perspective: they will serve as a support for the realization of an
exhibition followed by debates on Saturday, May 26, 2018 on the stakes of the general
strike, from May 68 to the present day.

Alternative Libertaire Nantes invites you to participate in a first popular education
workshop on Saturday, February 17 from 14:30. This workshop will take the form of a
collective and shared reading of an excerpt from Boris Gobille's work (May 68, Paris, La
Découverte, 2008): it will be a question of allowing everyone to discover and share to
take advantage, thanks to the tools of popular education and collective knowledge, the
history of the May 1968 strike in France.

Participation in this popular education workshop is entirely free and free. Simply
register by writing to n antes@alternativelibertaire.org

On Sunday, 28 January, organized the Initiative of No Racism!, Socialist Solidarity and
the Young Green Assembly called Afrin Not Self: Demonstration Against Turkish Aggression
Against Rojava. At Palacky Square in Prague, almost 150 people met in the windy Sunday
afternoon. Participants, almost half of whom were Kurds living in the Czech Republic,
created a varied crowd decorated with YPG and YPJ flags, depictions of the leader of the
Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) Abdullah Öcalan, as well as banners expressing support for
African residents or Solidarity with Rojava - Against all fascist aggresion (Solidarity
with Rojava - against any fascist aggression). ---- A series of speeches came after the
demonstration began. The first representatives of the Kurds were present. He emphasized
that let Erdogan justify the attack on Afrin, its main target being the Kurds in the long
run. He stressed that, although the PKK is considered a terrorist organization, the Kurds
do not fulfill their definition of terrorism. Their only goal is to gain the right to
their own existence and to gain freedom. Murad emerged as Socialist Solidarity. In his
English speech, translated into Czech, he stated that the people in Afrin are not and will
not be alone. He stressed that we should put pressure on the Czech government not only to
stop the supply of weapons. German tanks, which are largely used by Turkish units, are not
the only material manifestations of the attitude of the European Union or the US to the
Turkish offensive.

The Young Green member, in her speech, calculated violations of the Erdogan regime,
suppressing basic human rights. She reminded, for example, that there are a large number
of transgender people in Turkey, and they, like the entire LGBT movement, face major
repression. Women and women are the same, and the government also focuses on journalists.

He could not miss the speech of another organizing organization - INR. Their
representative, among other things, called for actions to promote Afrina, to write letters
to the relevant authorities, or to appeals to the Czech political party. The INR,
according to the INR, should seek to avoid extra weapons in Turkey, should finally start
helping, as promised in the context of alibitic excuses, why not accept any refugees.
There was also a call for the relevant politicians to resolve the situation of Markéta
Všelichová and Miroslav Farkaš, who have been rotting for a year in Turkish prisons for
their support of the Kurdish emancipation efforts in Rojava.

The conclusion was the present Kurds. At first, one of them expressed their deep gratitude
to all those present for their solidarity and stressed that the warriors and fighters in
Afrin were also fighting for us. Speech in Kurdish had Mehmed, who has long been engaged
in the struggle for the rights of the Kurds. The last words, the shortest but most
succinct, said a small Kurdish girl against the killing of children in Afrin: "Children
deserve life!" Before crying, she managed to say only a few sentences, but you had more
strength than all previous speeches.

The event was supposed to end at the moment. After a joint photo of participants with
banners and flags, the organizers warned that they would not be satisfied with a mere
gathering, so people started to make a short march.

The procession headed for a moment in the direction of Jungmannovo Square. On the way
through Karlovo námestí and Spálená we were really heard. The majority of the Kurds, who
chanted passwords like Bijî berxwedana ypg! (Glory of Resistance YPG!) Or Jin, jian,
azadi! (Women, life, freedom!). In addition to passwords, there were a few words about why
we are marching. A little vicious I imagined how a xenophobic looking at a parade, mostly
made up of skulling men of darker skin, dressed in colorful flags and accompanied by
reproduced oriental music, takes his legs on his shoulders and runs to warn patriotic
souls that the jihad has already arrived in Prague!

The march ended at Jungmann Square, where several Kurdish songs and short speeches were
heard before the event was officially over.

We thank the organizers for organizing this important event. We have come to express our
solidarity to the Kurds, and the Kurds have not missed it! Afrin is not alone!

Speech for the Anarchist Federation:

We strongly condemn Turkey's offensive of Afina as anarchists and anarchists, whatever the
goal is.
Is the attack the result of long-term hatred of the state towards the Kurds as a
nationality? We condemn nationalism!
Or is the operation driven by an effort to turn with Rojava's emancipation, which many
anarchists see as a new hope for revolutionary events? We condemn the state violence
against any attempt to live freely!
Does the Turkish state want to expand its territory, take up border areas and subject the
local population to the proto-fascist Erdogan regime? We condemn imperialism!
Does Turkey try to take another piece of land in the war on energy? We condemn the
capitalist efforts to monetize everything you look at!
Turkey convinces its citizens that the attack is leading to their security. To get rid of
so-called terrorists from the PKK. Even in our case, we saw in the Fénix case how easy it
is to abuse the "terrorism" sticker. Turkey's fake effort to maintain state security is
used to divert attention from opposition to the opposition. Against this, neither
anarchists nor other left-wing groups have resigned. There are no reports about some
anarchist groups from Istanbul or Ankara. Some comrades and comrades are missing, they are
probably imprisoned without trial.
Turkey is justifying the fight against terrorism, but in reality it just removes all the
people who are against it. All the people they hate. He wants to get rid of those who
threw him a few months ago to help clear the Daesh world.
Friends fighting in YPG and YPJ have a better-armed and hateful enemy against each other.
However, volunteers fighting for Coban came to their aid, and their sympathizers and
sympathizers around the world express their support. But their most powerful weapon is a
legitimate desire for freedom.
As our friends from the Turkish anarchist group DAF told us: No state can defeat people
fighting for freedom!
The people of Afrin will win!

At the cry of "Long live our community!, only the people can defend the people!",
Residents and a group of organized women from the communities that make up the
municipality of Juan R. Escudero in the state of Guerrero, created an entire environment
of celebration and remembrance on Friday, February 2, in honor of the Community Police of
Tierra Colorada, the municipal head of the region, which belongs to the confederalist and
autonomous security project FUSDEG ( United Front for Security and Development of the
State of Guerrero ). ---- With a caravan of trucks -some of which have been expropriated
from the now inactive municipal and state police- some 160 community members made a tour
among the towns of the demarcation. Curious were the messages and greetings that were
shared between residents and community, as unlike the state police, the Community Police
is made up of humble people and recognized by their peers, so their effectiveness is to
emerge from the breast of the own town. It's not unusual among people that someone has a
family member comunitari o!

On March 26, 2013, the people decided to take up arms to expel the various cartels and
their criminal cells - or colloquially known as "la maña" - for the reason that "there was
a lot of outrage of organized crime against citizens ( ...) they were kidnapping,
extorting and taking charge, "says Commander Maximino, who without leaving a long weapon
that is " more like a symbol because we expropriate the bad guys " , received various
groups of community members - as if they had not. seen for years- that congregated in the
community base of Tierra Colorada for the celebration.

The positive results of this project of autonomous security are so visible to the state
horizon to the degree that "we were already in Petaquillas in Chilpancingo and Xaltianguis
in Acapulco to shake hands with the people affected to extreme levels by crime, however,
the cartels they met to expel us because they were not going to lose their territories of
conquest overnight. "

Today, having these two key cities of Guerrero as the most violent in the Top 10 of the
country, assessing this type of movement is a social responsibility regardless of flags or
ideologies.

"They have ambushed our comrades, a few months ago they came to attack the community base
with grenades," says Maximino, without feeling indignant at this event.

"This fight is arduous, continuous and very dangerous, but it has been worth it," says one
of the teachers, who from an early age began to do the integral cleaning and clean about a
hundred chairs of the community base to receive their children. companions in the best
conditions.

The FUSDEG has presence in La Palma, Las Piñas, Omitlan, Palo Gordo, Potrero, Tlayolapa,
Tlachocouite, Villa Guerrero, Garrapatas and another ten villages, providing the "service"
of security (in quotes, since the community tells us that it is rather a voluntary
resistance and with all the taste of the world) both at the head of a more urban court and
in rural areas.

"We do not make incursions as other armed groups do that are linked to the government, it
is done with due respect together with the peoples and taking into account their local and
democratic authorities so that they defend themselves autonomously (...) it is just to
throw the hand, is mutual support. "

Currently, both the coordinators and commanders -all of them elected in an assembly and
public manner- have thought more about " this is not about acronyms, but about the people,
that little by little the idea of community self-defense expands nationally but not for
the already formed groups, but for the organization to be of the peoples, of the
territories and that way we advance to the dignity that we deserve so much here, as in
Chilpancingo, as in Acapulco as in Mexico City ".

And so, with a meal, music to light the atmosphere and the raffle of a cake of three
milks, people thanked him with this simple and subtle detail to all those people who daily
sacrifice their breaks to provide rest for their families.

As events as such write the modern world history, all revolutionary movements need to
process the information available, discuss and come to conclusions and eventually choose
sides and fight without failing to take the context of this historical reality into
account. ---- The text on hand does not set out to provide an exhaustive historical
narrative. Yet, it does set out to open a discussion that will look into all the critical
issues raised. Also, our aim is to turn our ideas into action, thus we choose to go
against the widespread inertia that surrounds the subject matter. ---- A historical period
as such requires much more than a mere theoretical analysis. As the hotbed of war keeps
spreading and is now reaching Europe, it is urgent that we create an anti-war movement
which will fight for and demand an end to the international military interventions, put
forward ideas on horizontal self-organization, empower the oppressed and ultimately stand
up against the rise of totalitarianism.

We know well that we can achieve nothing and nothing will be spared for us unless we fight
at all levels and to all directions in order to intensify and expand our horizontal,
grass-roots self- organization.

For the war against state and capitalism.

Korydallos Prison, November 2016

Introduction

The uprising in Syria, following that in Bahrain (which was drowned in blood by Saudi
Arabia), was the last link in a chain of uprisings in the area of Maghreb between '11-'13.
The western mainstream media called this series of uprisings ‘'The Arab Spring'', implying
that the demand of the revolting populations was the replacement of their political
systems with a regime of representative republic, namely a western-type democracy.

However, there are further decisive contributory factors underlying these uprisings.
Firstly, it's the international neoliberal agenda promoted by state governments which
serve the corporate interests of chiefly the western, Russian, Chinese and Arabic economic
elites. Actually, the privatizations launched by the states triggered an escalating
popular dissatisfaction as large parts of the population were turning poorer and poorer.
Secondly, it's the violence that even the most peaceful demonstrations were treated with.
Well before the spark (set by Mohamed Bouazizi's self-immolation) spread from Tunisia to
Syria, demonstrations had come with death tolls on protestors. Moreover, the structural
similarities of these regimes, the similar social stratification of their populations as
well as the shared characteristics of the human geography in the wider region constitute
altogether yet another factor that played a major role in the spread of the uprisings from
Tunisia to Libya, Egypt, Syria and Yemen. Finally, it's worth noting that the fast speed
in which these regimes were overthrown solidified the protestors' conviction that
dictators were, in reality, not at all untouchable.

Although all these factors co-existed in Syria, the situation evolved differently. For the
moment, the geopolitical situation in Syria is a global puzzle without solution. All the
imperialist rulers -global or regional- are caught in a vicious circle of conflicts,
opportunistic alliances and unclear strategic goals as part of their presence in the area.
The situation seems to have reached a dead end, but meanwhile the blood keeps flowing.

What has been going on for roughly four years now in Syria - meaning since the early
spontaneous uprising began to weaken and gave its place to hostilities among various
competing parties- indicates that the interference and direct intervention of the global
powers and their agents have expanded the battlefield and, with it, the market and economy
of war.

The rifts in the society are too deep and nobody can lead the situation out of this chaos.
The so-called ‘'negotiations'' and ‘'peace agreements'' are nothing but plans on paper as
long as they can't generate binding solutions. It's now impossible for Syria to go back to
its pre-war/uprising state. While the negotiators (government, unsolicited opposition
representatives, the USA, Turkey, Russia) insist on drawing transitional plans that let
Assad remain in power, a great number of opponents is by no means willing to conform.

A closer look at the course of events will allow us to understand how the situation
evolved to this stalemate as we know it. The initial protests in March 2011, which
demanded reforms rather than a change of regime, flared up in all big cities and Assad's
security forces responded with excessive violence, killing dozens of protestors, torturing
and orchestrating the "disappearance" of hundreds. As a result, lots of people took a more
radical stance and demanded the fall of the regime.

Governmental authorities abandoned several cities and self- organization emerged as the
prime coordinator of everyday-life organization: health-care, water supply infrastructure
etc. were created in villages and neighborhoods. Unfortunately, the same thing did not
happen in the field of self-defense and this was a detriment to the preservation of the
initial character of the uprising. Part of the army, including generals and commanders
with their forces, joined the anti-regime side and shortly later formed the FSA (Free
Syrian Army). At that moment, the involvement of the international powers became apparent.
The western powers (the USA, the EU, NATO etc.) armed the anti-regime nuclei while the
Russian state armed Assad's allies. At the same period, the Kurdish areas of north Syria
were the poorest in the whole country and predominately controlled by PYD (a party
affiliated with PKK). At the same time, PYD followed a model of communal management in the
economy and social life in the areas under its control.

Under social pressure, Assad gave amnesty to many political prisoners and this event
complicated the situation even further. Lots of the released political prisoners were
Kurdish and Muslim fundamentalists(3). The latter broke away from Iraq-based Al-Qaeda and
eventually formed ISIS, which proclaimed a territorial establishment for Salafism. The
totalitarian monarchies in the Gulf (especially Saudi Arabia and Qatar) supported the
fundamentalists with lots of money and equipment in order to increase their manipulative
influence in the region. This support strengthened ISIS as well as Al-Nusra, which is yet
another Al-Qaeda offshoot in Syria, that took a dominant role inside the opposition,
compared to the (undermined and poorly equipped by the western block) FSA.

The expansion of ISIS to the west throughout 2014 found no obstacles. Neither the western
powers nor Russia considered the presence of ISIS a threat to their interests. Only after
the heroic and determinate fight of the Kurds and the international fighters against ISIS
in Kobani did the American and Russian states understand that the empowerment of the Kurds
could possibly serve their interests in that area. This development did not satisfy the
Turkish state, which has long had its own reasons to oppose to the Kurdish self-
determination mainly because of the attitude of their US allies. Using the war against
terrorism as a pretext, the Turkish state first attacked the Kurdish-populated areas of
southeast Turkey and later the Kurdish cantons in Syria. By mid-2015, Assad's regime had
lost control of many territories and was chiefly established in the capital and few
adjacent areas in the west. Russia's decisive air-force intervention prevented a further
contraction of the regime and enabled it to reoccupy some regions.

Today, -long after the initial uprising and a revolution that turned into a bloodbath - we
stand in the middle of a chaotic war. It's obvious that any geo-strategic guesstimate is
risky. On the one hand, sociopolitical stability seems to be of importance to the
international economic trades. On the other hand, instability and destruction of
infrastructure appears to facilitate the economic interests of certain blocks of power.
Such rearrangements intensified the conflicts orchestrated by the transnational alliances
and their agents. The "war economy" is integral to global capitalism that these power
blocks promote. Initially, the USA armed the FSA amply enough to merely defend but not
curb the governmental troops. Similarly, the Russian state overtly intervened on behalf of
Assad's allies. This intervention, though, was not timely enough to help him prevail.
Instead, it reached him when he had nearly collapsed. Weapons, telecommunications, food
and fuel markets are large markets that can maximize their profit margins during wartime.
Trade- legitimate or not- (mainly of petrol) between the opposing sides may seem
contradictory at first sight but this is how war works in the era of advanced capitalism.
Another major hindrance to the stability is the fact that a large part of the belligerents
do not respect the agreements of the dominant powers and continue a war in conditions of
full extremity. Evidently, the war could have ended in the absence of all these intricacies.

Last week, the Poznan press revealed that the current director of Miejskie
Przedsiebiorstwo Gospodarki Mieszkaniowej SA (MPGM), Pawel Kaczmarek, changing his
position in power structures in the city (previously he was the head of the ZKZL), for
three and a half months took two salaries: from his previous company and from the new one.
ZKZL did not request from him - upon termination - the performance of work. In total, for
this period he collected an additional salary of 75,000. Golden. ---- I do not conceal
that this fact is shocked for many reasons. First of all - for many employees, pensioners,
the amount is very high. Many employees and employees working under the city would have to
work for 2-2,5 years (such as in libraries or crèches). In addition, in December 2017, it
turned out that they will not get the expected pay rise, because the city can not afford
it. How can they accept the fact that the same city has said goodbye with the equivalent
of over two years of their earnings?

For pensioners struggling with the problem of high rents and rising living costs, the
situation is even worse because the "additional" 3.5-month remuneration of the director.
Kaczmarek is the equivalent of the average pension for a period of three years. And what
about those who collect minimum pensions? What about pensioners or those earning minimum
wages?

wrazliwosc spoleczna i elementarne poczucie egalitaryzmu.  Nie powinni byc pazernymi i
dzialajacymi dla prywaty urzednikami.

Changing policy in our city means not only newly built communal flats or bicycle routes,
it is also acting in accordance with the principles and sense of social justice, which our
city is so lacking today. Therefore, I expect the director. Kaczmarek will return
additional money to the city coffers (or ZKZL).

AGAINST THE NATIONAL PARTICIPATION -- TO REMOVE A DEMAND IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE
STATE INTEGRATION AND TO THE COMPETITIVE CONFORMITY ---- On Sunday, 4 February, a
concentration in Syntagma Square is being organized in Athens by forces that attempt to
socialize the nationalist political agenda of the state on the basis of the "Macedonian",
following a similar concentration in Thessaloniki. Forces including the clubs, party
mechanisms of New Democracy and the co-rulers with SYRIZA, ANEL, ecclesiastical
organizations, until the Nazi organization of the Golden Dawn and slaughter fascist
striking groups in their ranks, in a move that objectively acts as a diffusion belt
intolerance and as a pole of gathering and mobilizing reactive reflexes.
The aggravated transnational antagonisms and Nato designs are nothing more than war
conflicts and extreme conditions of impoverishment for the peoples of the region.
Meanwhile, there are gatherings that "prepare" and illustrate the bleak outlook of warring
societies where the floods should be ideologically identical to state war machines.
Against state mythologies and nationalist narratives aimed at separating the class and
social oppressed of this world, we oppose the common struggle against war, their misery
and exploitation by the dominant local and supranational elites.

As Anarchist Political Organization we call for a cluster of social-class anti-fascist
forces to put barriers to the pursuit of modern totalitarianism. Anti-fascist vigilance
and defense of combat venues, which are targeted by state forces and sub-state gangs. In
an internationalist-anti-fascist concentration to bring the anarchist project into the
central political field, the solidarity of the peoples against their common oppressors. To
express our anger over the streets against the arsonist attack by fascists who accompanied
MAT squads, the occupation of Libertatia, the attack on the ESC school and the
anti-fascist concentration and resolve against the state repression that hit the massive
anti-fascist demonstration of solidarity in Libertatia Monday.
