Dear friends,
It's been almost a year since the horrifying news broke that authorities in Chechnya were kidnapping and torturing men suspected of being gay or bisexual.
And Russian authorities haven't done a thing to bring justice to the victims.
They're hoping the world has forgotten about what happened in Chechnya – but hundreds of us are coming together to prove them wrong.
On Saturday, April 7, All Out members around the world will take to the streets to honour those we lost a year ago and to demand an answer from Russian authorities.
If we can hold Global Speak Outs for Chechnya from São Paulo to Bangkok on the same day, we'll make headlines around the world. We can push Russian authorities to start an investigation and bring those responsible to justice. But we need YOUR help for this to happen.
As an All Out Ambassador, you're one of our most dedicated members. That's why I wanted to reach out to you first.
If you're able to host a Speak Out, we'll help you every step of the way.
Every event will be a little bit different: some will happen outside Russian embassies, others may take place in a central square in your town.
What really matters is that by coming together, we'll send a message on this solemn anniversary to Russian authorities that they will not be able to ignore: we will NOT forget about Chechnya and we demand justice!
Thanks for going All Out,
Matt and the entire team at All Out
PS: Have you signed our petition demanding justice in Chechnya? More than 159,000 of us have added our names – help us get to 200,000 before the Global Speak Out on 7 April! Sign here.
