Kept at bay for years by the movement, a new attempt at eviction of the residents of the
ZAD at Notre-Dame-des-Landes has begun. Starting at 3 a.m. today, the operation began
deploying in all its brutality: Interminable lines of blue police vans, armored vehicles,
tear gas, the first injuries and the first arrests. Gendarmes announced that reporters
were strictly forbidden "throughout the operation" and blocked their access to the site.
They declared that the press was prohibited from taking photos and that the media would
have access only to images supplied by the Gendarmerie. ---- The expulsions confirm the
government's pretense of re-establishing the rule of law while in fact grossly flouting
the law. The Prefecture has not even granted the inhabitants of the ZAD access to the
minimum guaranteed by the law on the right to housing, in this case the right to
individual procedures and the right to contest an eviction decision. Yet the residents of
most areas within the ZAD have identified themselves by name on several occasions over the
past few years.

The Prefecture's outrageous duplicity is visible today in all its hypocrisy: After
announcing it would seek a "serene and peaceful evolution of the situation" it sends 2,500
police/army to destroy residents' homes. We are told that a selection will be made on the
basis of categories that are pure fiction and have no bearing on anything but the needs of
the repressive storytelling the government has locked itself into. There is no false
division here between radicals on the one hand and farmers on the other; what exists are a
number of different and intertwined ways of sharing this land. Contrary to what Gérard
Collomb[Minister of Interior]claims, in fact no one has been individually legalized over
the recent weeks at the expense of the others. The movement as a whole has proposed a
framework for a collective agreement involving all residents and all their projects.

But the government could not simply admit that the proposed airport was useless; they were
bent on taking revenge against those who had forced the abandonment of the project. The
land is dying, the most brutal forms of economic processes are atrophying our lives, and
everywhere, people aspire to alternatives to that situation. On February 10 30,000 people
had committed to supporting the future of the ZAD. But the government's political message
is very clear this morning: It will allow no possibility for spaces where alternative
experiments can take place.

Our anger at the terrible waste the destruction of the houses and living spaces we have
built here represents is profound this morning. Our emotion at the idea that the
collective experiment that is the ZAD can be endangered by a police/army assault is
strong. But the ZAD will not disappear because of this. We live here, we have roots here
in this countryside, and we shall not leave it. We salute the courage of the people who
have already joined us on the site and have answered our calls. In 2012, the government's
destructive arrogance ultimately turned against it. In the current context of widening
strikes, demonstrations, and occupations throughout the country, we believe that the
razing of Notre-Dame-des-Landes will become a new engine of a revolt that will take hold.
This destructive operation will turn against its perpetrators.

We call on all those who can join us now or in the next few days to come to the ZAD. More
than 80 assemblies are already planned all over France this evening, including in Nantes
and Rennes at 6 PM. The response to these expulsions will also extend over time. A
demonstration has been called in Nantes on Saturday and a convergence on the ZAD is being
organized for this weekend.

As we reported recently big struggles are taking place against the austerity programmes of
the Macron government in France. ---- Last week railworkers began strike action that
closed down most of the French rail network. They were joined on strike by Air France
workers demanding pay rises and electricity workers and refuse collectors. Meanwhile there
were occupations by students against the plan by the government to limit access to
university educations. ---- This comes on the fiftieth anniversary of the May-June events
of 1968 which resulted in occupations of factories, schools and universities, a general
strike by 10 million workers and barricades and street fighting which threatened the
overthrow of the regime led by President De Gaulle.
The Macron regime is determined to push through its austerity measures. What is different
now is that the French Communist Party, which had a huge influence in the working class in
1968 and was able to divert and sabotage the struggle then, has collapsed. This was partly
due to what it did in 1968 but also to the collapse of the Soviet Union. The Socialist
Party, for its part (founded a year after the May-June events), has shown its true nature
by successive governments that passed austerity measures. Workers' disillusionment with
the Socialists could be seen when Jean-Luc Mélenchon, a former Socialist bigwig and now
leader of a new leftist party La France Insoumise (France Unbowed), was thrown out of a
demonstration last week to the cries of "Neither God, nor master, nor Mélenchon."

Macron himself emerged from the Socialist Party. An ex-banker and senior civil servant,
and serving minister within successive Socialist governments; he plans to continue the
anti-working measures of the previous Socialist government of Hollande. It should be
remembered that when he was elected less than half of the electorate voted, disgusted by
the socialists and seeing little choice between Macron and the far right party Front
National of Marine Le Pen.

The struggle in France is vitally important. Workers, students, the unemployed and
pensioners need to build links and to develop grassroots organisations and mass
assemblies. They should not be deceived by any of the political rackets posing as the
friends of the working class.

The Spinetta report on the SNCF is a classic of the kind: an umpteenth bourgeois cumulard
(Air France, Areva) lays a pseudo-report taking up the reckless revenues of liberalism to
justify the deconstruction and privatization of a public service. ---- End of railway
status, opening to competition, removal of the less traveled lines, everything is there.
Spinetta does not understand what he's talking about, because his life takes place outside
the realities of employees and users and users of rail. He knows nothing of the
prohibitive tariffs and daily difficulties of people exiled from urban centers that have
become too expensive. But he undoubtedly knows the tactics of the planned degradation of
public services to justify their privatization. And like his master's little dog, he
understands what he is asked to do: bark in the right direction.

Selection at the university, privatization of the SNCF, reform of the ferry, the
government is accelerating. Capitalists often confuse sneering and accession. It may be
that things are not going as planned. Since February the mobilization is developing in
some universities and March 22 a day of mobilization and strikes in the public service and
the SNCF was positive.

The mobilization seems stammering but the cracks that are emerging in recent weeks, could
open the way to a general anger.

The grassroots union Independent Workers of Great Britain has called for a strike ballot
of cleaners at EY (Ernest and Young) . The cleaners are employed by outsourcing outfit ISS
and work at the EY buildings at 1&6 More Place and 25 Churchill Place in London. The
accounting firm EY talks about "Building A Better Working World". It had a global revenue
of over $31.4 billion last year. Despite this, it treats its cleaners in an appalling
fashion. They have no job security or the conditions that the directly employed workers
enjoy. As a result of a consultation "to improve financial performance and cost
effectiveness" cleaners will have to do the same amount of work with fewer staff. EY and
ISS have intimidated workers. A flash mob protest took place last week outside EY offices
at London Bridge.

Last Friday we handed in our petition signed by over 150 riders to the Deliveroo head
offices - you should have seen their faces when they opened the pizza box and saw over 30
pages of signatures! ---- We gave them until Friday 13th to reply with a negotiation
meeting date, to discuss our demands: ---- * pay us for waiting time (4€ for every half an
hour without an order) ---- * cover our compulsory statutory accident insurance ---- *
reimburse bike parts expenses (0,35€/km) ---- * progressively raises riders' pay (an
additional 0,50€ after 3, 6 and 12 months of working for Deliveroo) ---- Soon after we
handed in the petition Deliveroo wrote their riders an email saying they want to work with
riders and not with "third parties". Suggesting that 150 organised riders are a "third
party" is a new low for the company.

Let's see if Deliveroo decides to listen to the 150 riders who demanded a negotiation
meeting, or decides to ignore them completely.

A picture is worth a thousand words. The image that summarizes these three days has been
contributed by Fernando F. Beneite, who was the head of the National Police device during
the strike of 14N, who without much reflection has spoken about the "video that I have in
my head". And nowhere else. The dramatic images of this film, composed of dramatic images,
typical of a warlike scenario, could not be seen during the sessions. The only evidence he
has presented are his words; To believe them is, therefore, a matter of faith. ---- That
the police version is a queue has barely disturbed the prosecutor, who has simply lowered
Paul's request for jail in a year to not see the crime of injury. In truth, this cause is
a grotesque. The recognition by the person in charge of the Superior Police Headquarters
in La Rioja that he has not investigated the destruction of the graphic documents obtained
by his subordinates during the loading, would have made Don Ramón delighted, especially
since he could leave the court without his incompetence having any repercussions.

The real victims of the show are our partners Jorge and Pablo. His tenacity and courage is
titanic. They have endured this moment for six years, collecting all the existing
evidence. They have endured an accumulation of falsehoods and indignities with integrity,
listening that hundreds of hooded men, animated by soflamas, dedicated themselves to
throwing paving stones and stones to the policemen. They have had to listen that CNT is
composed of "not normal" people, violent people who are dedicated to bursting the
demonstrations. And all this they have lived without being allowed to even outline a
complaint.

They have been judged for something that did not happen. Now that the cause has been seen
for sentence is when they and those people around them need our support and affection. If
they touch one, they touch us all: JORGE AND PABLO ABSOLUCIÓN.

The movement against the airport, however, has expressed its intention to seek a
compromise solution for the future of land site Notre-Dame-des-Landes. We can read in this
attack the will of revenge of the government and the choice to give pledges to the
reactionaries of all sides who did not digest this anti-capitalist victory. ---- On
Monday, April 9, 2,500 gendarmes launched their offensive to destroy the homes of
occupants of the ZAD. The power is revenging today actors and actresses of the fight
against the project of airport in Notre-Dame-des-Landes (NDDL). ---- Since 3 am this
morning the gendarmes began their aggression against the inhabitants of the site of the
abandoned airport project. In their luggage they brought the necessary gear to destroy the
houses, but also armored vehicles.

The occupants of the site oppose a determined resistance against the rogue cops:
barricades of "  vigilant tractors  ", more conventional barricades possibly inflamed to
hinder the progression of the forces of the disorder, human chains ... The diversity of
the tactics of resistance vis-a-vis the invasion is part of the realities of the ZAD.

Despite the determination of the occupiers, the disproportion of the forces and especially
the military equipment brought and the tear gas that drowns the ZAD under a cloud of toxic
gases allow the gendarmes to gain ground. But the power must recognize that it will remain
complicated for them.

Gérard Collomb, the sinister is obliged to announce "  we will maintain, as long as it is
necessary, forces of the order so that there is no new occupation  ". Journalists are
blocked by cops who do not want witnesses to do their dirty work.

From 5.30 am an arrest and an injured are reported. From 10 am the cops begin to destroy
houses.

Although the movement against the airport has unambiguously expressed its intention to
seek a compromise solution for the future of the lands of the NDDL site, the government
wanted this confrontation that nothing justifies ... except the will of revenge of the
government and the choice to give pledges to reactionaries on all sides who have not
digested this anti-capitalist victory.

Libertarian Alternative denounces the government's all-repressive policy and this violent
and cynical class war, which it embodies.

In the face of these brutal thugs, facing the repression that is coming, it is important
to react immediately. Already 77 gatherings are planned everywhere in France .

Alternative Libertaire calls all those who can answer the call of the ZAD at a
demonstration in Nantes this Saturday and a convergence on the ZAD this weekend. Against
Macron and his policy, it is the whole social movement that must unite.

On 19 & 20 May 2018, the 1st Regular Congress of the Anarchist Federation will be held at
the Eleftherios Self-Governing Theater, Embros, in Athens. ---- But before we go into the
details of the conference and its themes, we will make a brief reference to the political
figure of the Anarchist Federation. ---- The Anarchist Federation is a horizontally
organized federalist organization of anarchist collectivities. It was established in
October 2015 as a result of a long process of discussions and anchorages between anarchist
societies that had begun in March 2013. We choose to operate with a non-centralized model
offering to the collectives of the AO. a substantial autonomy of action and reason - an
autonomy that builds the Federation from bottom to top. In this way, it releases itself
and its cells from the inhibiting-action-element of the "stamp" in every single move and
initiative. The Federation operates primarily as a coordinating, fermenting and strategic
design body. Wanting its growth with the entry of existing collectives or the targeted
creation of new ones,

So far it has the following collectives:

Athena:

Anarchist college of N. Philadelphia
Anarchist collectivity of Rubikon
Eleftherias Assembly Empty Circle

Heraklion:

Anarchist college Octana

Thessaloniki:

Eleftherial Initiative of Thessaloniki

Ghoul:

Assembly of anarchist-antiauthoritarians of Lamia

We are anarchists, part of the wider social, class and revolutionary movement, the
exploited and the oppressed, and we strive for social and individual liberation through
the social revolution. We recognize the necessity of another model of anarchist
organization, taking into account the organizational deficits and problems so far. The aim
of this organizational effort is to create a structure that will strengthen and strengthen
the struggle for social self-management based on commonly agreed political and strategic
goals.

We consider that the precondition for the social revolution is the development,
massification and organization of both the wider collective and horizontal social and
class struggles of the exploited as well as the anarchist movement. Therefore, our main
goal is to promote and maximize the diffusion and influence of revolutionary,
anti-authoritarian and libertarian ideas, practices and values within these struggles. We
are looking for the A.O. to play a catalytic and promotional, but not hegemonic, role in
the birth and development of these struggles. The means we use to achieve the goals are in
inseparable agreement with them.

In January 2018, believing that time had come for us, the Anarchist Federation published a
public presentation of the assessment of its creation and operation. The reason he
suggested this was double. On the one hand, it was a necessity based on the political
ethos and libertarian culture that we are trying to have as anarchists. On the other hand,
the ownership, both by us and by the rest of the movement, of the experience that has been
painfully conquered by the course of the organizational struggle so far is an essential
necessity. We therefore have, after years of procedures, to define successes and failures,
denials and victories, inevitably as well as reckless mistakes. This valuation text
signaled for us the completion of what we defined in our founding conference in 2015 as
the "experimental period" of the Anarchist Federation, a period, that is, de facto each
and every movement, our every structure, our every initiative would be experimental, just
because neither and none of us had done it again, none and none of us had a ready recipe.
With this text, we have announced the results of this "experiment" and based on the new
reality we are now proceeding to the 1st regular conference of the AO. which will
determine its definitive physiognomy. With this text, we have announced the results of
this "experiment" and based on the new reality we are now proceeding to the 1st regular
conference of the AO. which will determine its definitive physiognomy. With this text, we
have announced the results of this "experiment" and based on the new reality we are now
proceeding to the 1st regular conference of the AO. which will determine its definitive
physiognomy.

(the text of the report is here )

The two-day 19 & 20 May 2018, therefore, will be the 1st regular meeting of the Anarchist
Federation. This will complete and validate the changes in the statutes regarding the
structure, internal functioning as well as the positions to be filled in with the
synthetic texts for the topics of the pre-congress dialogue to be discussed.  These themes
are: Tax Issue, Epilogue Issue, Imperialism, Substance Issues. Pre-conferences are under
way. Here, let's make clear that there is no single model of dialogue for all the themes,
nor does each group commit themselves to a specific way of expressing its position. Thus,
for some thematic issues, the Federation's final position is the result of a dialogue that
took place on comprehensive contributions, written positions in bullet form and / or oral
placements in the various pan-Hellenic meetings of the AO. Therefore, it is not
technically possible to make all pre-conferences dialogue public. What is feasible to file
publicly is the comprehensive collections texts for some of the themes. For the question
of the structure there were no written positions, as the proposals for change of the way
of operation were made in the living procedures of ?.?. based on the shortcomings we all
encountered and for which we were looking for ways to improve together.

In the same context have been announced events under the responsibility of the clubs of
?.?. with the aim of public debate on the positions under discussion in Athens, Thiva and
Lamia.

Following is the agenda of the weekend:

1st Day:

The first days of the dialogue will be the collectives of the Anarchist Federation, as
well as specific invited collectives and individuals. The final modifications will be made
to the synthetic texts for the themes and the changes and additions will be validated.
Collectives will be placed on each of the first day thematic. The invited collectives and
individuals will be able to position themselves on a topic-by-theme basis and their views
will be taken into account in the composition of the Federation's final position, which
will be recorded in its statutes.

The themes are:

A. STRUCTURE

Changes in the structure and operation of AO

B. POSITIONS

B1. Position on the class question,

B 2. Position on the giant question,

B3. Position for imperialism,

B4. Position on the issue of substances

Day 2:

a. Presentation of the new political / information portal members and not just the
anarchist federation

b.  Open public debate on the theme " The current conjuncture at the time of the decline
of social struggles over the SYRIZA-ANEL government, the political reconstruction and the
response of the anarchist movement ".

The subject is deliberately wide. Its possible but not exclusive or necessary spikes, as
it has been shown by its own collectives, can be:

- The new conjuncture as formulated after the 4th Memorandum.

- The tactics of the movement on new measures, first-time auctions, abolition of Sunday
holidays, local-community struggles (eg Squires), base clubs, student trade unions, class
self-defense structures.

- Organizational dualism. The need for the simultaneous organization of anarchists in
political collectives and classifications. The distinction between these two
organizational forms. What the federal organization of anarchists has to offer and why it
is considered imperative.

- The rise of nationalism in the Balkans and the anarchist response.

- The Macedonian issue.

- Social welfare in Greece.

- The rise of far-right in Europe.

- The immigration issue.

- The anarchist attitude in the event of a war of local or more enlarged dimensions

etc.

The 2nd day of the conference is open to anyone who wants to attend collectively or
individually. This is a public debate in which everyone and everyone will be able to
position themselves, while the Anarchist Federation's collectives will do their own
positions without any common suggestion from the federation.

The goal of this conversation, and dedicating this second day of our conference, is the
up-dated enrichment of our ongoing collective reflection and movement, on the development
of a capable revolutionary strategy at the juncture. The Anarchist Federation will
endeavor to capitalize on the debate and political considerations that will be put to it
as a starting point, as a raw material and a driving force for defining its political
priorities in its post-conference political agenda and its presence.

The aim is also to meet and fertilize with collectives and individuals who choose to place
themselves, hoping that any process of dialogue, regardless of wider political agreements
and disagreements, will bring us closer to creating a background of co-modality,
co-existence and mutual respect.
