Dear friends,
For $600, you could experience a "sloth sleepover" at the Captive Husbandry Center in Oregon. And from the surface, you might even think it was cute. That's because you wouldn't even know that this business is actually extremely harmful to sloths.
The Center houses the world's largest population of captive adult sloths. It claims to be a sanctuary and has gained media attention for its "sloth sleepovers," but in reality, the Center is exploiting these animals. Keeping sloths in captivity for breeding and personal profit is cruel and must be stopped. That's why we need companies like Trip Advisor to add a warning on their travel page.
As if that weren't enough, the owners of the Center also have a history of illegally selling sloths and other exotic animals to the black market. Sadly, most of these animals will be used for roadside attractions or in zoos, and most will die from improper care.
Sloths desperately need protection in their natural habitats and should not be illegally imported, sold or abused in the United States by places like the Captive Husbandry Center.
Thank you,
 Alex B.

P.S. Sloths are being illegally taken from the forest to be resold around the world as pets and for entertainment. Sign the petition to tell Trip Advisor to stop promoting this exploitative business.
