Far from being an energy alternative, the government's renewable energy policy only renews
capitalism. And arouses specific local opposition. Example of the gigantic project of
industrial wind turbines in South-Aveyron. ---- All environmentalists have been advocating
renewable energy and energy efficiency for decades. But the way these energies are
produced is currently being questioned. Wind farm fields, deep geothermal energy, solar
panel farms ... all these systems are built according to the interests of multinational
firms. And there is a huge gap between their characteristics and those touted by the state
and developers. ---- The way in which the development of renewable energies is organized
is difficult to criticize because it is very well supported by public opinion. Nuclear
power is a foil. Government communication states that this energy will one day be replaced
(or reduced in quantity in the energy mix) by "   clean   ", "   sustainable   " and local
techniques .

The themes of environmental struggles are called to the rescue to swallow the pill of
expensive and polluting imposed facilities. Thus a farm of solar panels or a field of wind
turbines becomes a proximity energy. And all this goes very well. We are going to see it,
it is only a travesty of reality.

A very distant proximity
The development of renewable energies is currently taking place mainly in large projects,
such as a network of 750 wind turbines of 80 meters in Aveyron, or pellet plants, as
currently in a village in Limousin, or huge photovoltaic farms. Obviously, neither small
communities nor individuals can finance such facilities. These facilities do not produce
energy for the local population, but it is the only one to be exposed to nuisances. Energy
is converted into profits for multinationals through distribution in a globalized market.

The gigantism of the installations has consequences. Thus, for a wood-fired power station
in a city, it will be necessary to bring, by hundreds of trucks, the raw material from
distances to the scale of the needs, that is a hundred kilometers around the power
station. For a deep geothermal power plant, it will be necessary to look for flows of hot
water to 2, 3 or even 5 kilometers underground. To "   clean   " the cracks of the rock,
obviously, the quantities of acid necessary will be gigantic.

Why such gigantism of projects ?
It is also important to look at the set-up of projects: initially, research and
development is supported by state budgets, but the exploitation of resources is
privatized. Take the emblematic example of the geothermal project in Strasbourg. The
permit was obtained by start-up Fonroche on the basis of geological research done by the
State. As soon as the drilling permits were obtained, the start-up sees arriving some 400
million euros on its bank account via a European investor. But investors - whose capital
is often housed in tax-advantaged or even opaque countries - will only plan to finance the
company for five to seven years, ie the upward phase of valuation of its capital. Then, it
will be another investor, from who knows where, who will manage the operation. And the day
when it will close this operation, the said investor or his distant successor will have
folded luggage. And at no time will it be possible to put in place some local control over
all these acts. Also, the qualification of proximity energy for these installations raises
the scam. And the scale of the installations remains a problem. The techniques developed,
very sharp and expensive, make it impossible to control the production of energy by users.
Even if it would be possible to collectivize the, perhaps, future 750 wind turbines of
Aveyron, that could make the inhabitants, because these are dedicated to the international
trade of the energy (with the following infrastructures) and, anyway,

The current logic at work in the development of renewable energies disguises the notion of
proximity and in reality is only a policy of capitalist exploitation of resources as part
of a colonization of rural territories. Gigantism is necessary for control by capitalism
and its profits.

In its February 2018 issue, Alternative Libertaire , echoing the thesis of the
environmentalist Denis Hayes formulated in the 1970s, exposed this very important notion
for the development of a self-managing and ecological society: " energy is a question of
power    ". This observation is still valid. But today, let's not be fooled by the
copy-pasting that capital uses to exploit and colonize new territories. Proximity is not
limited to transforming locally available resources into electricity or heat for global
distribution. Talking about proximity also implies direct use of energy by local
populations, possibly without transformation into electricity. It is part of other choices
of organization of life and work. It emancipates from the "  right of ownership  " to
privilege the "  right of use  " of the local populations. Obviously it is part of a break
with capitalism.

We are young workers from shopping centers, cafes, bars, restaurants, fast food stores and
other workplaces. We are waiters, cashiers, air carriers, cleaners, kiosk employees ... We
are new employees in the service sector. We are workers taking advantage of the speed and
intensity of the work of the capitalist system. This May Day, we were on the streets
self-organized to spit out in favor of the revolution. We were on the streets to remind
that May Day is not a feast but a day of struggle; struggle against capitalism,
exploitation, bosses, for our justice, our lives and our freedom. We walked behind our
banner with the slogan "Full fight against part time". We utter our wrath against bosses,
chefs, to the governors, since "the bosses are in palaces, the young workers are in the
streets". Through our paths we show our strength and passion in the struggle for bread,
righteousness, freedom. We must unite. We are everywhere, but we are separated. We produce
services. We are not servants of capitalism, we are employees in the service sector. We
know well who invented this system; those who want the rich to keep their position and the
needy poor to stay in the same position. Now is the time to organize. Now is the time to
remind the struggle of the anarchist workers who fired the fire at Haymarket in 1886. Now
is the time for young workers to fight against the capitalist system. young workers are on

In Cuba, May 5, 2018, a new stage in the process of self-emancipation of a group of Cubans
and Cubans begins with the opening of ABRA: Centro Social and Libertarian Library.
This commitment of the Libertarian Atelier Alfredo López (an anarchist, anti-authoritarian
and anti-capitalist initiative that emerged in 2012 that is part of the Anarchist
Federation of the Caribbean and Central America), with the effective and vital
participation of related groups such as that the Cuban Critical Observatory, the
Guardabosques (the Ranger), as well as other individual energies, seeks to build an
autonomous and sustainable space in Cuba today. ---- A space to promote experiences and
practices independent of any foreign or national government, or institutions representing
them, focused on the capabilities of those involved. At ABRA, we will insist on a practice
that prefigures the type of sociability we dream of, and on a type of relationship
respectful of the environment, which results in a minimum of consumption with a maximum of
non-polluting solutions.
This new venture is essentially anti-capitalist, since capitalism promotes a kind of
relationship between people based on utilitarianism, supremacy, competition, profit, all
of which does not lead to the sociability we aspire to. This is supported by the states,
companies and corporations that dominate and destroy the world and our country. For this
reason, the Social Center is at the antipode of all that preceded historically.
On the other hand, emancipation is not possible without being part of different
communities. This is why the ABRA exists in relation to these, not without ignoring the
oppressions they undergo, nor the victories they win in their struggle. He is also
involved in the dynamics of resistance and the creation of other related groups, which we
will welcome in our Center and in our projects. ABRA aims to provide a space for all these
sociabilities, people and affinity groups that are not limited to the narrow framework of
conflict between the government and the opposition, but rather to address directly and on
their own the various issues of the daily life and creation in all spheres of reality.
This space actively opposes discrimination based on race, ethnicity, sex, sexuality,
sexual orientation, gender identity, territory, educational level, economic status and any
other discrimination against human dignity. It also recognizes the plurality of thoughts
(political, ideological, moral, etc.), without ever giving up exercising ours.
ABRA offers itself as a place of fraternization, in the middle of a mercantilized and
supervised city, and offers a space of local, national and international
counter-information, self-taught training, commemorations, celebrations, meetings; seeking
to encourage the precarious, productive and autonomous counter-cultural scene existing in
Havana and the Cuban region.
The Social Center is constituted as a horizontal social communication space to give a
voice to national and international experiences that do not interest the hegemonic
agencies, but pay tribute to an anti-authoritarian and emancipatory perspective that
interests those of us who fight in Cuba.
Here the means and the ends do not contradict each other: they are the horizon, the
freedom of the person, the effective participation starting from the direct implication.

Surrey and Hampshire Anarchist Federation Statement on the so called "Day for Freedom" and
the reaction to it. ---- On Sunday (06/05/18) fascists converged on Whitehall for the so
called "Day for Freedom" event organised by well know islamophobe Tommy Robinson. ---- The
response of revolutionaries to this event was characterized by apathy and negligence. It
seems as though anarchists, socialists and communists saw fit to leave opposition to this
event to a handful of dedicated anti-fascists. ---- Dedicated anti-fascists who may have
been outnumbered by more than 20 to 1. Some suggested that the fascist event may have
drawn as many as 4000 whereas the counter demo managed to draw as few as 180. ---- The
result of this was that antifascists could do nothing to disrupt Tommy's event
and instead were forced to do their best to defend the Stand Up to Racism counter
demonstration.

The counter demonstration was entirely peaceful yet it was physically attacked on two
separate occasions by large mobs of fascist thugs who broke away from the "Day for
Freedom" march.

These attacks caused a number of injuries but were bravely resisted.

Tommy Robinson was not only accompanied by thugs who eagerly attacked peaceful anti racism
protesters he was also accompanied by various Alt Right celebrities and the leader of
UKIP. This collective of scum were supported by a number of fascist groups. Prominent NF
activists were spotted as were ex members of the nazi Combat 18 and the Racial Volunteer
force as well other nazis from the Pie and Mash Squad. Both Kek and generation identity
flags were seen as were a number of supporters of the Democratic FLA and For Britain.

This was a huge convergence of the most vile racists and fascist in the country and one of
the biggest racist mobilisations in years. Yet tens of thousands of revolutionaries failed
to attend leaving the anti fascists who did massively out gunned and in real danger.

To often have we been happy to leave the business of opposing fascism to a dedicated
minority of activists. This is not only a strategy which is insufficient to effectively
combat the international fascist resurgence, it also robs the broader movement of self
determination when it comes to opposing fascism. If we are committed to revolution, then
we must be prepared to oppose the fascist counter revolution through either involving
ourselves in dedicated anti fascist groups or by prioritising antifascism in our
organisations.

The great antifascist victories of Cable street and Lewisham were not won by a small anti
fascist clique but by mass mobilisations of the working class.

To achieve such victories again we must get active both as individuals and as
organisations. We must agitate in our communities to put our beliefs front and centre of
street politics. Fascism can not be defeated from the bedroom or via facebook. We can not
win the class war if we don't take to the streets. We must stop using online arguments and
obscure memes as a substitute for activism. We have to get active, we have to turn up and
we have to take responsibility for ridding our communities of fascism.
No pasaran.

"How can we expect righteousness to prevail when hardly anyone is willing to give himself
up to a righteous cause?"

The Prague Zine Party Prague Spring Day was premiered in the second issue of the Feminist
Zin Dance . Right from the beginning, it would be very wrong to think that it is a purely
feminine zinc that is intended only for women. And just like in the review of the first
number we printed in Existence No. 3/2017, I would emphasize that prints of this kind
should also be read by men. If we treat the underground prints stereotypically - that
those feminist are for women, and those that make men for everyone - then we just copy the
mainstream production thinking with her female picture magazines. At the same time, it has
occurred to me that most of the issues published by men reveal the topics that they do not
focus or ignore, whether because their creators do not know how to deal with them, or
simply do not think about them, and they have no idea that they would someone could be
important.

And now to the second number of Holiness . What is it about? General: "We are writing
about what we are about, about forgotten women of history, about activism, about bodies,
movies, books, writing about what we love, writing about people and situations about the
world we share." And to the content it is important to add a nice graphic processing of
zinu à la cut and nalep, all in color - even if it raises the price, it adds to the
creativity. It will also take on the style of free intersection of poetry and short
stories with thematic articles and reflections.

The text on myths and prejudices associated with feminism makes it clear that feminism is
not in opposition to men, and that although some progress has been made, it is still
necessary to wander into the sexist culture. For sure, a personal confession about
inspiration inspired by Susan Cain's Silence - The Power of Introverts in a world that
never stops speaking - will certainly benefit . It is important to know yourself, not to
see weakness in the introvert, but to take it as a source of your own identity, which is
possible if you communicate honestly with the environment and it will teach you how to
take what you are.

When I talked about an uncomfortable encounter with the onanist in the night bus, when the
author discusses her feelings of helplessness and helplessness, I remembered a friend who
told a similar experience to his friend as a humorous story. There's really no funny thing
about it.

The misunderstanding and ignorance of many men (and sometimes women, too) is reflected in
another subject that approaches the manifesto when playing music. This was written by
women in the Swedish music industry, who were inspired by the #MeToo campaign and
described numerous cases of sexual harassment and violence, as well as sexist environments
that are immediately characterized by the opening quotation of the article: "When a
raving, respected musician, you suddenly lose a lot of friends."

I was also attracted by a brief reflection on maternity. And reading a "menstrual survey"
does not hurt men, on the contrary, it will help to unbalance this topic and force them to
think what words they are talking about (not).

Important women of the past are reminded of feminist and socialist Frána Zeminová
(1882-1962), who was sentenced to 20 years in jail with Milada Horáková. History of the
commemorated excursion to Brno is also commemorated on the occasion of this International
Women's Day.

Finally, a quote from a short story: "... the patriarchate can not reconcile truth, can
not acknowledge mistakes, and can not even dream of it."

66 pp. A5. Available at the usual distribution points.

You will also find the No. 2 prize at the Anarchist Book Festival , which takes place on
Saturday, May 19, in Eternia, Prague.

No crowded room, no audio or microphone, no promotions in social networks or email lists.
They arrived as they wished and as they could, and that was enough. ---- More than thirty
people were present on May 5, 2018 in Lawton, to found together ABRA Social Center and
Libertarian Library. ---- After almost three years of international campaign to raise the
necessary funds, without resorting to governments, political parties or NGOs (let alone
the institutions of the Cuban State), we managed to realize a dream that emerged in 2015.
---- We come from previous experiences of the Haydeé Santamaría Chair, the Critical
Observatory Network and the Forest Ranger, who have demonstrated the urgency of having a
fixed physical room so that the work can be maintained over time.

Some of us have seen in Europe and America left-wing collectives, trade unionists,
anarchists, socialists, alterglobalists, who have their own spaces. Some occupy, others
praise, and it is there that they express their creativity, channel their belligerent
energies to try to transform a world more and more xenophobic, racist, consumerist, unfair
and exploitative.

Our own struggles may be those or others, but it is clear that nothing can replace the
direct contact, the transparent look of people who want to make things happen together.
Especially in Cuba, where state control over the media is so tight, and where the Internet
is still so expensive and slow.

This was understood by the people who contributed to our idea coming to life, and to each
of them, I express my deep gratitude and that of my companions in the libertarian Atelier
Alfredo López and the Observatory Cuban criticism.

We know they do not have a lot of money. We know that many are workers or students, and
that every euro paid is a sacrifice for them.

That is why we can only begin this new stage with great humility and commitment to
ourselves to open our Center to anyone who knocks on a dream, an idea of autonomy. and
collective work, and thus give a new meaning to our life.

That's why, in addition to sharing our own story with those who visited us this weekend,
we also gave them the space to share their own projects, or offer us their art.

Thus, we took the opportunity to present old friendly projects such as the playful
community education and leisure project "El Trencito", the anti-racism newsletter "From
the cheese maker" or the "Kaweiro" group, so that they appear before new listeners in the
presence of their coordinators Yadira Rubio, Tato Quiñones and Carlos Díaz y Meibol.

We enjoyed the art of trova , the Cuban song presented by the students of the University
of Havana and some informal troubadours, as well as some written poems.

We learned about other artistic experiences such as those of our company Ernesto, who, in
addition to selflessly creating the murals that welcome visitors to our center, shared a
new series of beautiful photographs under the title ABRA.

The promoters of the Loyola Center told us about the new "Forum Loyola" discussion spaces
that are currently functioning; we also learned the details of Jorge Mata's visual arts
project "You and I in addition to me", as well as the upcoming "Improducibles Factory" of
the Scenic Laboratory of Social Experimentation, presented by Yohayna Hernández.

In short, from the first step, we tried to live up to our name and "we opened" the door to
the other that comes without space to try to create something emancipator and beautiful.

What kind of things? Well, you can still get inspired by different things, including
something as common as a dictionary:

ABRA:

1. Bay not very big (handle)

2. Open space between the mountains (gorge)

3. Opening produced in the field by an earthquake (crack)

4. Space between two rows of vats in a cellar

5. Open and wide field located between the woods or path open through the weeds.

6. Window or door leaf

7. Distance between the masts of the rigging.
