Dear friends,
In a few days, the President of Tunisia will decide: should our country keep making it a crime to be gay?
In August 2017, the Tunisian President put together a committee to review its discriminatory laws. Their recommendation was clear: Tunisia's anti-gay law must go.
But for that to happen, President Beji Caid Essebsi must take the next step. He can either start a discussion in Parliament or ignore the committee's advice. Your voice can help tip the balance.
This is just one step in the fight to make love legal in Tunisia.
If President Essebsi agrees to decriminalising same-sex love, he'll submit a bill for a vote in the Tunisian Parliament – and we'll be ready to pressure them, too.
The President is expected to announce his decision on 25 July.We need to act fast.
Thanks for going All Out,
Mounir Baatour,
President of Shams
