Don't let a mining company kill off these last dolphins

Don't Let A Greedy Mining Company Hurt The Last Remaining Maui Dolphins. Protect This Endangered Species!

Dear friends,
Maui dolphins are magical creatures, full of playfulness and life. They have only one special place on Earth that they call home: the west coast of New Zealand's North Island. Unfortunately, there are only a few of them left. Scientists estimate that fewer than 64 of these animals are still in existence. Now, a mining company wants to conduct seabed mining exploration right in the heart of the dolphins' home, which could spell disaster for these creatures.
For years, conservationists in New Zealand have been working to protect this incredible subspecies from extinction. Despite all that work, including the creation of the West Coast North Island Marine Mammal Sanctuary in 2008, Maui dolphins still haven't made a meaningful comeback.
But greedy fossil fuel corporations don't seem to care; they've applied for a permit to explore for minerals inside of the marine sanctuary itself. This population of majestic and friendly water animals is far too fragile to survive a future in which mining companies potentially invade their home and destroy their habitat.
This special area of water was set aside to help animals, not to let corporations make a fat profit. We have to speak out. Demand that the New Zealand government protect the marine sanctuary from all extractive activities!
Thank you for all that you do,
