The  Anarchist Studies Association of Hiroshima  will be organizing another edition of the
"Anarchist Meeting of August 6". The anti-militarist event is supported by  the Kansai
Anarchist Studies Association  and will bring together a wide range of people interested
in anarchism from within and outside of Japan. ---- >> The programming of the "August 6"
of 2018, Monday, is as follows: ---- *  07 hours:  distribution of leaflets in the
Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. ---- *  10 hours:  demonstration in the vicinity of the
Genbaku Dome (Atomic Bomb Dome). ---- *  13 hours:  meeting in the city, conversation and
debate: "The Strategy of Anarchism in the 21st Century". ---- *  After the meeting:  drink
and eat somewhere in Hiroshima city. ---- kansaianarchismstudies.blogspot.com ---- note:

[1] At 8:15 am on August 6, 1945, the city of Hiroshima was hit by the first of the two
atomic bombs dropped by the US military in Japan at the end of World War II. The attack on
Hiroshima killed about 150,000 people instantly, and thousands suffered the consequences
(especially from radiation) for many years. Currently, in the region near the site that
was the epicenter of the bomb, there are several memorials in honor of the victims.

Patriarchy isn't just an essential ingredient of "traditional family values"; it is
explicitly required practice by most of the world's religions. The Abrahamic religions
codify the social subordination of women based on religious mythology dating back to the
bronze age, but like many things religious it has less to do with the supernatural than it
does with confirming the right of domination by a male-dominated ruling class. ---- The
evolving archeological record shows that pre-historic (pre-civilized) humanity had
developed a highly complex, rich culture based on social egalitarianism. This egalitarian
emerged during the hunter-gatherer period of human social evolution, but it continued
well-after humanity had begun to live in sedentary communities.

It was the rise of market economics, with human slaves (especially female slaves) as
valuable items of trade, which began the social degeneration of human society into one of
class hierarchy and permanent inequality. The invention of the Patriarchy was a key part
of the social decay of egalitarian society that ended with rise of what we call
"civilization".

The oppression of women crosses class divisions and status, testimony to the important
role that women played in the egalitarian majority of our pre-historic past. The
destruction of the Patriarchy is a necessary step in the destruction of ALL social oppression.

Lately there has been much to do about Trump's policies regarding refugee children, that
separates children from their parents and puts them into prison. This policy is
outrageous. But refugee children in the Netherlands get treated heartless and cruel by the
authorities too. And like in the United States, this is a deliberate policy. To draw
attention to the situation of refugee children,Geen Kind aan de Kant (No Child on the
Side) organizes a demonstration in Katwijk on the 29th of September. ---- One of the most
important things we do, is to make more people aware about the situation that
refugeechildren in the Netherlands live in. We take the upcoming demonstration in Katwijk
as an opportunity to organise several information evenings in different cities. We will
talk about life in the family locations, the procedures, contacts with the DT&V, IND and
COA etc. In some cases it will be possible for refugee children to talk about their story.
Unfortunately we cannot split ourselves in a hundred people, so it is possible we cannot
come to your town. If you would like an information evening to take place in your town
before or after the demonstration in Katwijk, please invite us! We can help you set up
your own information evening, provide materials or in some cases we can even come ourselves.

Emmen: Wednesday, September 5th,  20.00 - 21.00, Huize Spoorloos, Wilhelminastraat 33, Emmen

Den Haag: Thursday, September 6th, 18.00 - 21.00, De Samenscholing, Beatrijsstraat 12, Den
Haag

Amersfoort: Thursday, September 13th, 19.00 - 21.00, de Rooie Cent, Hooglandseweg-Zuid 34,
Amersfoort

Amsterdam: Friday, September 14th, 19:00 - 22:00, NieuwLand, Pieter Nieuwlandstraat 93A,

Statement by a collective that is aiming to stop the weapon manufactur 'Rheinmetall'.
Rheinmetall produces for example tanks that are used by turkey for their ethnic cleansing
of rojava. War starts here and it is about us to do something against. ---- A protest camp
just next to a Rheinmetall production area will take place from 29.08.2018 - 04.09.2018 in
Germany in Unterlues. ---- German weapons are involved in killing on a global scale. With
respect to arms exports, Germany is ranked fourth worldwide and even second in the EU. In
the past ten years Rheinmetall managed to become one of the largest players in the
munitions industry without causing an outcry. ---- With the help of subsidiaries overseas,
Rheinmetall even succeeds in bypassing those few rules on arms exports that are in
existence, leading to sales in war zones and crisis regions. The consequences are
profitable and bloody at the same time: people are dying due to bombs that were produced
by Rheinmetall in Italy. Against international law, Turkey is at war in Afrin, Northern
Syria, with the help of Leopard 2 tanks. The Turkish NATO army annihilates societal
structures which were pointing the way ahead in previous years concerning women's
liberation, grassroots democracy, and ecology .

In partnership with this regime, Rheinmetall aims at building a munitions factory as well
as producing tanks in Turkey. Moreover, Rheinmetall is building a factory for the Fox
armored transport vehicle in Algeria. This list could be continued for quite some time.

We do not want to allow Rheinmetall to keep on killing people with their armaments any longer.

It is clear from the start that the discussion about export controls and human rights does
not play any role in reality. German policy does not defend any moral values abroad but
strives to sell German products, including military equipment. Although 80 % of the German
population object to these arms exports, the ones responsible seem to be sparsely
impressed. In the past, multiple protests against Rheinmetall have been executed already:
for instance, camps and actions at Rheinmetall factories and at the German Army's Combat
Training Centre (GÜZ) based in the Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide which is also run by the
company. This year, we want to build on those with a demonstration, a peace camp, and
various actions at Rheinmetall's production site in Unterlüß. Hereby, we collectively
speak out against defense production and its direct consequences such as war, terror,
forced migration, and poverty.

The activities surrounding the Anti-war Day on 1 September do not only signify our
resistance against a defense contractor, but also our campaign for another world. We want
to discuss the transition from a destructive industry to civil and ecological production
instead. We want to stand up for peaceful and social cooperation instead of murder and
fierce competition. We cannot bear a world full of discrimination and repression any longer.
