On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the events of May 1968, the activists of
Alternative Libertaire Nantes went to give the floor to Catherine, Bernard, Joseph,
Marie-Thérèse and Jean-Louis, five actresses and actors of what May 68 was before anything
else, in Nantes as elsewhere: the biggest general strike in the history of France ! ----
The film ---- Source: Alternative Libertarian YouTube Channel ---- Introduction ----
Spring 2018: in the face of a power that is sure of itself and concentrated around one
man, social discontent seems to be gaining momentum: workers' strikes, EHPAD employees,
certain mass distribution groups, strikes in the energy and the civil service, strong
student movements occupying the universities ; calls for the convergence of struggles are
multiplying, perhaps with the hope of a general strike.
In this year of commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of May 68, many draw a parallel
that they hope to see happen: May 1968 - May 2018 ?
But what is May 68 ? At each important anniversary commemorating the event, we see a
multiplication of the plateaus, the documentary programs, the magazine covers devoted to
it: sexual liberation, liberation of morals, student revolt incarnated by Cohn-Bendit,
insurrection of the Latin Quarter, posters of the fine arts, these are the reasons that
come back, tirelessly. Yet May '68 was much more than that, it was quite another thing: it
was the largest general strike known in France, led by actors, workers and workers,
relegated from the usual commemorations.
That's why we chose to make this film: " May 68, militant lyrics " in which we extended
the microphone to 5 people who participated in the events of May 68 in Nantes. Workers and
workers, students, peasants, far from the capital, far from the usual media
representations, they tell us the May '68 that they lived. They tell us the story of the
general strike of 68.

On September 14-15, 2018, the Rozbrat social center celebrates its 24th birthday. We
invite you to the birthday festival of everyone with whom we meet every day at protests,
interventions and debates. We are proud and proud that for 24 years Rozbrat has been
continuing, attracting new people, intervening in the most important social conflicts in
our city and working for social justice in Poznan. ---- This year, we devoted the
occasional birthday poster to the Black Protest. Recently, we have been actively involved
in building the movement for women's rights, and regardless of the price we bear, our
response is to build a strong and wide feminist movement, which is why we are committed to
the development of the Social Women's Congress .
For 24 years, Rozbrat has been developing the grassroots movements in Poznan, building
facilities for people who need support and creates new visions of how our city can look.
Only in 2018, we provided organizational support for workers' protests, eg for non-medical
employees of a clinical hospital demanding increases or cheated employees of Poznan
restaurants. Every day, we support our friends from the Employee Initiativefrom Poznan
nurseries, theaters, Amazona and Volkswagen. For years, tenants and locals from Poznan
know that they can turn to us for selfless help in the event of evictions and intimidation
on the part of cleaners, we support gardeners - we create the Wielkopolska Association of
Tenants on a daily basis .
We fight for animal rights, we talk with residents about green areas in Poznan. We
actively supported the nationwide university protest against Act 2.0 and the protest of
disabled people. Supporting other cities we picketed against the extreme right, I also
protested in a gesture of solidarity with Kurds and Kurds or repressed in Russia.
We publish books and newspapers . We regularly train martial arts and yogaand playing
instruments that samba Halastra uses during demonstrations. In the winter and spring
season, Food Instead of Bomb, he cooks food with us and distributes to the Poznan old
market to all those in need.
This weekend, we will celebrate the continuous operation of Rozbrat . We invite everyone
to a celebration together!
On Friday they will perform: Limp Blitzkrieg (hcpunk), Drip Of Lies (necrust), Red Pigs
(punk), Mokosz (folk) and Low Kollektiv (electro / techno). On Saturday, Torn Shore (crust
/ punk), Street Opryszek (punk rock) and Radykalna Wies (dub / punk), Inquisition
(hardcore), Yacoepsae (hc punk) and Rat Kru (electronic / dub triphop).
On Saturday at 18:00we invite you to a presentation about the current situation in Catalonia.
CATALONESALL CHALLENGE
Who are the Catalans? Terrorists or rebels? How did the situation in Catalonia come about?
Is Spain a neofrankist state? Is the Catalan Revolution really a revolution or is it the
work of bourgeois oligarchs? Information that comes to Poland is aseptic, official and
empty. Leader Xavier Bayle, an activist living in Poland
Throughout the event, stands will be exhibited with press and anarchist literature (
Brotherhood of Trojka ) and vegan food ( Revenge , Vege Pizza , Cuisine of Different
Dissertations ).

In the Democratic Federation of Northern Syria, the police and justice system is organized
in a federalist manner: it therefore always favors the smallest level for resolving
disputes. ---- The basic police consists of the Civil Defense Forces (HPC), made up of
volunteers elected by the village, the neighborhood, or at least the community of
proximity. The idea is that a security force made up of people known and approved by the
community can maintain the mutual respect and understanding essential to conflict
resolution. Before getting a weapon, everyone must succeed in training in feminism and
nonviolent conflict resolution. ---- All other civil security forces are based on the same
model, whether Asayish (paid, they guard public buildings and checkpoints), Trafik Polis
(road safety) and Jin Asayish ( unisex , they provide protection for women's homes, and
deal with violence against women).
At the first judicial level are the " peace and consensus committees " formed by 7 members
of the commune to try to resolve minor crimes and conflicts. A non-mixed women's committee
deals exclusively with women's rights, domestic violence, sexism, divorces and child custody.
If the death penalty has been abolished, prisons still exist. In September 2015, Amnesty
International counted approximately 400 detainees, the vast majority of whom were linked
to Daesh.
Following the principle of restorative justice, the prisons propose to dialogue victims
and perpetrators of violence, with the aim of reintegrating them, and to recreate the
social fabric torn apart by the civil war.

Today (September 11), around 6 pm, at the University of Moreno (former Riglos Institute)
in Buenos Aires, we express our repudiation for the diffusion and exhibition of the
documentary " Los Caminos de Santiago " by Omar Quiroga and Florencia Kirchner . ---- Once
again they use the image of our anarchist companion to a party political opportunism,
where the incriminating government is proposed to eclipse the Kirchner years, which has
boosted the anti-terrorist law and denied the pre-existence of the original peoples,
repressing communities. ---- Kirchnerism and macrism are two sides of the same repressive
currency called democracy. While we were showing the documentary, we spread leaflets
throughout the building, despite the idiocies of the organizers.
Santiago was an anarchist! -- It was the state!

As we have already informed , the Anarchist Federation (AF) has joined this year's
International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners , which was announced on days
23-30. August. On this occasion, we published a list of anarchists imprisoned in Belarus,
Chile, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia, Greece, Turkey, the United States and the
United Kingdom together with a brief account of their cases. At the same time, we released
a poster containing their names, which each had the option of downloading from our site
and further spreading. ---- By publishing a banner with the text of "Free All Anarchist
Prisoners" on the bridge over the Gocar Circle, the names of the imprisoned anarchists
from all over the world were remembered by the anarchists of the city. In a press release,
their spokesperson said: "On 23 August 1927, anarchists Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo
Vanzetti were executed after the manipulated trial in the US. Judicial murder then
offended the public across the world. Even in 2018 there are dozens of anarchists around
the world. Over the last year, many things have changed in the global political context,
but overall the situation is rather worse and the number of repressions against anarchists
and anarchists is rising not only in Europe, but around the world. With that in mind, we
joined Hradec Králové at our sixth annual solidarity week. "The action week also has a
wider dimension and the anarchists are trying to express their disagreement with the
prison system as such. "We think prisoners are in most cases people like us. That they
have just succumbed to the pressure of the pursuit of success that affects every one of
us. That we are definitely closer to these people than to those who make up and control
the laws of repressive apparatus, and they are rarely in jail if they do anything, "she added.
In Prague, in the Salé infoshop, during the action week, 28 August was held "Writing
letters to anarchist prisoners and prisoners". In the Autonomous Social Center, the
following day took place: "A benefit tattoo to support anarchists and anarchists
imprisoned in Russia."
In Ostrava and Frýdek-Místek leaflets were distributed and posters from the OAF and
Anti-fascist events were painted. In the Czech Tešín, anarchists, besides the embossing
and a solidary punk concert, were organized by the anarchists. Not only domestic bands,
but also Antisocial Skills from Slovakia and Morus from Poland performed on it.

At the end of a two-week trial, five years after the murder of Clement Meric, the Assize
Court delivered its verdict: Esteban Morillo was sentenced to 11 years in prison, Samuel
Dufour to 7 years and Alexandre Eyraud was acquitted. The jury recognized the use of a
weapon as an aggravating circumstance. ---- The murderers of our comrade have tried to
forget about their belonging to far-right groups in their defense. But we do not forget,
we do not forgive. ---- What happened on June 5, 2013 is a political crime. The murderers
belonged to the group Serge Ayoub's Third Way, whose show before the court has
demonstrated their deadly ideology. The far right kills anti-fascist militants. It conveys
ideas of hatred and violence. Borders are murdering, right-wing activists are defending
them. They advocate domination and inequality as a social project advocating xenophobia,
racism, sexism and homophobia.
Faced with this, the fight is essential. We will never stop fighting for equality and
social justice.

A 24-hour strike was scheduled for July 25, voted for by a PITCNT Representative Board
that also approved a partial strike with mobilization for June 28. Both paralizations were
within the framework of the budget struggle. ---- However, before the declaration of
strike for the 6 of August of the Federation of Public Health Officials and the previous
mobilizations generated by said Federation, the Executive Branch grants a game of 70
million pesos, which unlocks the conflict and the strike is without effect. The same was
done directly by Tabaré Vázquez after several meetings with the Uruguayan Teacher Training
Federation, budgeting 300 school service assistants. ---- These advances are important,
but they are insufficient. Recall that this Accountability comes to "complete" the
2015-2020 Budget, since the government originally submitted a Budget for 2016 and 2017,
and in each Accountability is completing the budget of the quinquennium. Something
unprecedented in the history of our country. The Accountability presents new numbers for
the Budget and not an adjustment of them, as usually happens. This allowed the government
to process a true reduction of the budget in certain areas, even though it has increased
in global terms. This maneuver also allowed them to reduce the rate of growth that the
budget had had in the previous period.
Likewise, the growth of the Budget or its increase -more in the previous period, less in
it- is not going to stop at the pockets of the people. The item that has increased the
most is the Ministry of the Interior, with the technification that the Police has
received, and now with the payment of the night shift. Today more is spent on "security"
than on education, health and housing. A policeman who just enters earns more than a
teacher or a nurse. This speaks clearly of the priorities of the economic and social
policy of the government and of the entire political system.
But what has been striking has been that while the Accountability is under debate (last of
this period of government until 2020) and it is said with total self-assurance from the
government that the promise of 6% of GDP for education and training will not be fulfilled.
that the Collective Agreement signed with the trade unions in that sector will be
violated, the Executive Secretariat of the PITCNT will propose to the Representative Board
-and this one will approve- to lift the general strike of 24 hours on July 25 and to do it
on August 22 in the framework of the Salary Councils.
Bear in mind that this Accountability validates the PPP, which does not invest a single
peso in public works of any kind, and opens an immense space to private capital in terms
of infrastructure and its subsequent management. Is not this a privatization?
The PPP development policy has gone through all types of governments in Latin America from
2000 to today. It is good to take into account its regional articulation linked to
imperial interests, even. Notorious case of the IIRSA Plan (Integration of South American
Regional Infrastructure).
Heber Nieto: student martyr, example of struggle and commitment to those below
Another August 14, another day of commemoration of the "Student Martyrs" and their
struggle. In years of the "Pachecato" (1968-1972), a period in which a strong economic
adjustment was processed against the people and it was harshly repressed under "Prompt
Security Measures", that permanent "State of Exception", by which it was gassed , beat,
imprisoned and militarized workers and students.
The struggle for wages, work, freedoms, opened the way to a deeper struggle: for a
profound change in society. These were times in which the Cuban Revolution and the
revolutionary will of Che, the "Cordobazo", the guerrillas in Colombia and Venezuela, the
resistance of the people to the coups and invasions of the US marines were in force. The
strong workers movement with 100 years of experience and tradition. In this context, a
generation of young people from Secondary and UTU bursts in like an irrepressible tide in
the street fight.
The fight for the student ticket was of the first order. In the context of a generalized
crisis, workers' homes could not sustain the transportation of their children to study,
just in moments of explosion of student enrollment. Several mobilizations of the various
student unions had this claim as central. All this went hand in hand with a natural
alliance "student-worker", which was verified in the support of students in mass to the
workers' struggles, as in FUNSA, to mention an example. And vice versa.
On August 14, 1968, Líber Arce dies with police bullets, the following month Susana Pintos
and Hugo de los Santos. In 1971, our colleague Heber Nieto, known as "El Monje", was
murdered for his austere and modest style, but always in solidarity and ready to lend a
hand. His murder is a sign of the police action and sadism with which they attacked the
people. At a time when IEC UTU students, supported by other students, were building
conquered classrooms with struggle, other students were paying a toll in support of the
CICSSA paper workers' conflict. After a first clash with stones with several "strips" of
Intelligence, they surround the IEC and from the building under construction of the BPS
(in front of the UTU), a sniper shoots Heber Nieto, falling dead instantly.
"El Monje" was a militant of the ROE (Resistencia Obrero- Estudiantil) and FAU, committed
to the development of both organizations and the struggle. I was 17 years old. I fought
for Socialism and Freedom. "With your arm builder of new classrooms", as Carlos Molina
would sing to him, he painted very well the quality of militant, as young as Heber. A
militant of revolutionary intention with all the letters. Take their example, continue
their struggle, is a good legacy for new generations of young militants.
Filter: everything is stored in memory
One more year ... Twenty-four years of that night in which our people demonstrated that
solidarity has no borders. Where a people was present defending the right of asylum of
Basque citizens. The story is known: repression, sticks, wounded and two dead. Two dead
comrades. And from that day, a memory that does not forget. A memory that today as
yesterday denounces the repressive apparatus, which remains intact since the dictatorship,
which was demonstrated that night. That repressive apparatus, today more technified but
just as true with those below.
We continue to denounce Gianola and Lacalle as responsible for these deaths and those who
fired that night and today enjoy total impunity. Something that you want to do with all
the murderers of our town but we will not allow because our memory is stubborn and does
not forget or forgive.
Nor do we forget that many of those who summoned our people that night, today look aside
when it comes to clarifying the case.
For all that this date means, for all the resistance that implies, by Fernando Moroni and
Roberto Facal we will march again this August 24 with Norma Morroni.
Argentina: more than a triumph of the reaction, triumph of the struggle in the street
Within the variegated nature of the "green tide", we can not but welcome the popular
feminist organizations that with organization and struggle brought hundreds of thousands
of people and organizations of the people to the doors of Congress to demand the
decriminalization of abortion, opposing resistance to reaction and to the Church, so that
those at the bottom stop dying because of home and clandestine abortions. Although the
reaction in the Senate triumphed in the street, the lower ones won in struggle and
organization.
The CIA and a new attempt
In Venezuela, the CIA increases its actions in an attempt to assassinate President Maduro
with drones. This agency, which does not care about anything, has in its sinister presence
the homicides of Torrijos, Allende, and Keneddy himself. But we know that there have been
and are many more ways of intervention that the CIA and the US in general have in Latin
America, for example, supporting the bloody and murderous dictatorships of our peoples. So
nothing new under the sun. Only the resistance and the struggle of the peoples will
triumph over imperialism.
Times of Resistance
Yes, they are times of Resistance, of struggle. In spite of everything: the moment of
general "chatura", of a certain disbelief, reluctance, apathy. But, above all, to
counteract the already initiated electoral campaign, which has gone off at full steam with
the dance of names, dinners, meetings and conversations that far away from addressing
popular problems. The people have no candidate, our only "candidacy" is the popular
struggle organized by more conquests and social and organizational advances.
This struggle that the popular movement carries out today, both for the Accountability and
the Wage Councils, should be an important point of reference to advance and accumulate
forces. Overcoming reluctance and disbelief, organizing militancy and strengthening the
organizational structures of each union, each student union, each housing cooperative,
each neighborhood organization, etc.
We are in the midst of a complex historical journey in our country: we have two years
ahead to build a strong town, which, in the first instance, will have to face the
adjustment that is already being processed slowly, at a Uruguayan rate. In fact, the
statements of Minister Astori that this is the first Accountability without thinking about
the electoral campaign, that is, increase in spending to capture votes, is an
acknowledgment that there is no increase in social spending. That slow adjustment, by
drip, will continue from the assumption of the next government and may deepen.
It is time to put the accent on the construction of a strong town and not to strengthen
the government. Governments change, some go and others come, but the people are always
there, they always resist and hold up that stubborn resistance that lights up a different
tomorrow, a morning of Socialism and Freedom.
They are times of Resistance, are times of Struggle and Organization ...
