Do I have to die to prove I'm gay?

Dear friends,
I'm reaching out because my life is at risk: I'm about to be sent back into danger because Swedish authorities don't believe I'm gay.
My name is Patrick and I am a 20-year-old gay man from Uganda. I fled to Sweden after my boyfriend was murdered and my face was published in the largest national tabloid – just because I'm gay.
Still, authorities claim I couldn't "prove" my sexuality – and I'm not the only one. Many lesbian, gay, bi, and trans asylum seekers are being treated the same way by authorities in Sweden.
I don't have much time left, Luc.
Sweden: fix the asylum process for LGBT+ people. SIGN NOW
Since I arrived in Sweden, I have settled into life here. I am now in a relationship, have started playing football again, and even signed a contract with Dalkurd, a local football team.
All this is about to be taken away from me.
If I'm sent back to Uganda, I'm afraid they will kill me. The police will chase me, my neighbours will chase me, there will be no one to protect me.
It's not just about me: if we speak out now, other LGBT+ asylum seekers could be spared such a degrading experience. With humane processes and training for Swedish Migration staff, people like me could have a real shot at justice when they're genuinely fleeing for their lives.
Thanks for going All Out,
Patrick Mulyanti
