Dear friends,
A year ago, 75 people were arrested in Egypt – because someone waved a rainbow flag during a concert in Cairo.
Twelve months later, the crackdown continues but it's no longer making headlines. We can use the anniversary of the "rainbow flag arrests" to change that.
You're one of All Out's most active members, so we wanted to hear from you. What do you think we should do to mark the one year anniversary of the crackdown in Egypt?
Here are some ideas we came up with:
- Post photos of thousands of us holding up the rainbow flag, like they did during the concert in Cairo.
- Ask large tourism companies to speak up for LGBT+ rights in Egypt; since tourism in so big in the country.
- Get musicians around the world to hold up the flag during their concerts and say something about Egypt.
Thank you for always standing with us,
Mathias, from the All Out team
