Today is International Day of the Girl. We are celebrating the power of girls around the world, helping ensure they have the tools necessary for success.
From child marriage, to lack of adequate health care, to war, girls around the world face daily obstacles to their safety and security.
In Africa, governments are forcing tens of thousands of girls to drop out of school prematurely because they become pregnant or are mothers. Barring them from school means they aren't being taught necessary skills.
Ensuring that all girls benefit from quality education, free from discrimination, is critical for building a skilled female workforce for Africa’s development.
Join us in calling on governments to empower girls today, on International Day of The Girl, and every day.

Ugandan officials won’t even ask why overwhelming lethal force was used that day and why children died, which shows a terrifying disdain for human life. Watch a new video where we speak with the victims' families.
