On the ground in Brazil

Hello again,
Last week, I started to speak out about the situation for LGBT+ people like myself in Brazil right now.
It's dangerous. We are being murdered. Every 20 hours at least one LGBT+ person's life is taken.
In 2018 alone, at least 118 women were murdered simply because they were transgender. Countless more were beaten and abused.
And in the past couple of weeks, after the first round of our presidential election, things have gotten so much worse. At least 50 people were attacked in the name of bigoted "political" beliefs. At the University where I studied, library books about human rights are being destroyed.
Am I worried? Well, yes. Scared? Not at all.
Because I plan to keep fighting. I will fight harder than I've ever fought. And I'm going to do it by helping to launch All Out Brazil.
Are you ready to fight by my side?
Thanks for standing with me and all LGBT+ Brazilians,
Ana

Dear friends –
A 19-year-old woman was beaten and her attackers carved a swastika into her stomach, just because she had a rainbow flag sticker on her backpack.
The gay dating app Grindr is showing safety alerts after a man who set up a date was found dead in his apartment.
A black woman was severely beaten by four men and called awful slurs. Another woman was chased by several men, stabbed, and murdered. The reason? They're both transgender.
A group of football fans chanted in a crowded subway station, "Watch out, all f*****s will be killed!"
All this happened here in Brazil in the past few weeks alone.
Brazil is one of the most dangerous countries for LGBT+ people in the world. Trans women are expected to live to just 35 years old. One of us is killed for being LGBT+ every 20 hours or so.
We're in the middle of a major Presidential election here and things are getting even worse.
That's why we're launching All Out Brazil. We're lining up campaigns, preparing trainings, and working closely with local partners to fight back against hate in Brazil. But we need your help to get this work off the ground.
FIGHT HATE IN BRAZIL. DONATE NOW
I'm Brazilian, a lesbian, and an activist. Most of my friends are LGBT+ people.
But I'm not scared. I'm angry! And I'm going to fight intolerance, hate, and injustice as long as I can.
I promise you this: I will never give up. And I will not rest until we have respect, safety, and equality.
