Save Asian Elephants Cora and Tembo. Tell The Horrible Topeka Zoo To Send Them To A Sanctuary! Sign Now Dear friends, Sunda, a 58-year-old Asian elephant recently died at the Topeka Zoo. Last December, Shannon died at the young age of 35 after suffering inexcusable negligence. That's two tragic elephant deaths in less than two years. Now, the Topeka Zoo's two surviving elephants — Cora and Tembo — need our help! The zoo must close its elephant exhibit immediately and send the survivors to a sanctuary. Not only has this zoo been cited numerous times for violations of the Animal Welfare Act, it has also been named one of the 10 Worst Zoos for Elephants in North America. While it is too late to protect Sunda and Shannon, we still have time to save Cora and Tembo.
