At the end of the referendum on independence in New Caledonia, a majority voted " against
". But there is in fact every reason to see it as a step towards reconciled independence:
the independence camp is progressing, and this by avoiding a dangerous face-to-face
confrontation with the non-Kanak people, and even more so with the interests of the
'French State. ---- The years 1960-1970 in New Caledonia are those of the " Kanak revival
" , to which Messmer responds with the revival of the settlement policy in 1972, declaring
that " in the long term, the indigenous nationalist claim will be avoided only if the
communities not from the Pacific represent a majority population mass ". This certainly
led to the fact that the Kanaks represent only 39% of the total population of the
territory, but also led to a strong independentist demand as early as 1977. The project
was to trap the Kanak by a so-called referendum of self-determination where, in the
framework of an electoral body constantly reworked, the voters of the first people would
be minority in the face of non-Kanak voters. And supporters of the colonial status quo
hoped that the massive rejection of sovereignty in the referendum would " purge " the
claim definitively.
For a sovereign Kanaky-New Caledonia
But with the meager 56% of the rejection of sovereignty, the anti-independentists found
themselves with a hangover without even having the party. With the 43% of votes for
sovereignty, including the increase in voice of other communities, the Kanak nation -
mostly represented by the different components of the FLNKS - remembered their good
memories with brilliance, including by a mobilization of his youth that surprised the
independentist leaders who had left too much, all their institutional activities away from
the base. Thus, the Kanak nation is in the best possible position to prepare for the
second half in 2020, and possibly for prolongations in 2022.
Two or four years to win the 18,000 votes gap is not an impossible goal from the Kanak
camp's own reserves, Pacific Island cousins, youths from other communities, and the lack
of an alternative. face if not the colonial status quo more or less disguised. In the end,
a real referendum of self-determination reserved only for Kanak and a few tens of
thousands of " victims of history " would have been won, but would have resulted in a
situation where non-Kanak communities who are not ready to leave the country would have
stiffened, if not more, in a frontal confrontation, in a poor balance of power, and with a
France that is not ready either to lose its interests in the Pacific.
In fact, despite the headwinds, the next twisted blows (including that of wanting to
dilute the Kanak nation into a "New Caledonian people "), the equation is almost the best
to face later, with the best assets, in context, to arrive at the great Caledonian hut
open to others, whose Kanak nation will be the central pole. The claim remains for a
sovereign Kanaky New Caledonia !

Greek anarchists have joined forces with Kurdish fighters in an attempt to defeat ISIS in
the Syrian region of Rojava, according to a report by Greek newspaper Eleftheros Typos.
---- Rojava, in the North of the country, has become a de facto autonomous region due to
the ongoing Kurdish uprising. It functions as a base for militant groups from around the
world, from where they launch offensives against ISIS. ---- The Greek government has been
aware for some time of the Greek anarchists' presence in Rojava, but recently, the Greeks
in the area have ramped up their operations by forming the Revolutionary Union for
Internationalist Solidarity (RUIS). ---- RUIS worked together with the International
Revolutionary People's Guerrilla Forces (IRPGF), another anarchist militia active in
western Kurdistan. The slogan reads, "From Rojava to Athens, you will bleed to conquer the
liberated land."
In photos obtained by Eleftheros Typos, armed and masked Greek fighters in military-style
uniforms stand against the backdrop of a wall tagged with Greek slogans, one of which
reads: "From Rojava to Athens, you will bleed to conquer the liberated land," with another
promising the group will "not take one step back".
Since 2012, Rojava has established itself as a self-governed, democratic territory amid
the chaos of the civil war. Kurdish political parties hold elections, and the Kurdish
militia - the People's Protection Unit (YPG) - provides armed resistance against the
Syrian Army and ISIS. International militant groups who want to fight alongside YPG are
often required to go through a formal initiation to the cause, before being given official
Kurdish names.
Intelligence obtained by Greek security services alleges the RUIS plan to train in
guerrilla warfare, in order to apply similar tactics in fighting the system at home.
That intention was confirmed by a member of the International Revolutionary People's
Guerrilla Forces (IRPGF) - an older and more established anarchist militia in western
Kurdistan, of which members appeared alongside the RUIS on the photos published by
Eleftheros Typos. One IRPGF member told the newspaper, "There are a number of reasons
behind the formation of the IRPGF, the most important ones being the lack of an anarchist
presence in Rojava, and our need for an anarchist territory where anarchists can escape
the state, and train in guerrilla and conventional warfare in order to apply what they've
learned in their homeland. By being here, we gain necessary experience for a social
revolution."
Sources in the Greek government confirmed to Eleftheros Typos they were monitoring the
situation closely.

Last night a dozen anarchists made a walk through the Schilderswijk in Den Haag. Five
banners were hung at different locations and flyers were spread with the title "Solidarity
with those who revolt". Thousands of small leaflets were also spread all over the area
with the text: "These nights are for Alexis: murdered by the Greek police ten years ago.
For the revolt. For anarchy." ---- Flyer text: ---- Solidarity with those who revolt
This December marks 10 years since the murder of Alexis Grigoropoulos, who was shot dead
by the Greek police. His death started a month long revolt that spread throughout Greece
and beyond. This revolt made it possible for people to open up news ways of organisation
and see a new world, by reject the authority of the state.
Ten years later the idea of revolt is surfacing again. For multiple weeks there has been
unrest in France and people demand the resignation of the president. The protests began as
a reaction against the increase in diesel prices, but have now snowballed into a general
insurrection against the power of the state. A state that only benefits the rich. The
movement has no leader, no political party that controls it and no political line. The
so-called demands that have been composed by various assemblies reflect only one thing:
this entire economic and political system can go to hell!
"We are not dogs you can keep in a cage!"
- prisoners in Curacao
This week prisoners in Curacao revolted against the bad conditions they are being held
captive in. The food they receive is rotten and the medical care is not up to standard.
The prisoners demand an immediate solution and refuse to talk to any intermediaries, they
demand to speak to the minister.
The French state has already imprisoned hundreds of people after the riots that occurred
throughout the country. But as the prisoners in Curacao demonstrate: even in a prison a
revolt is not to be suppressed!
Long live the revolt!
Long Live Anarchy!

For some years, residents of Halkidiki and solidarity have struggled together to prevent
gold mining in Halkidiki and the subsequent destruction of the ecosystem of the wider
region. So far, work on the construction of a site in Skouries and the opening of road
networks have transformed the area around which construction works are being carried out
to a skull site. Huge forest areas have been deforested, the mountain has eroded, and
water springs have been infected. All this, without the mining being started yet. The
mining itself is a lethal process that will release toxic substances and heavy metals,
contaminating air, soil and subsoil, having devastating consequences for flora, fauna and,
of course, for residents as well. Its devastating consequences will not be confined to
Halkidiki. It is estimated that they will reach Thessaloniki and Central Macedonia.
The repressive forces of the state are openly committed to defending the interests of "El
Dorado Gold" and its subsidiary "Ellinikos Xrysos" - as is naturally given, since it is
the role of the state: they have suppressed paths, telecommunication, have invaded homes,
have harvested DNA samples, and have filed papers against fighters with charges up to the
establishment of a criminal organization under Law 187. By the bosses of "El Dorado" and
"E" the "golden gold", there are a number of regime media plundering the struggles of the
gold mining movement, but also the employees of "Hellenic Gold" along with their
employers' association, following the path of individualism and social cannibalism, chose
to become the dignified organs of the bosses, playing a role that brings them to an entire
local - and not only - society, while putting their health at imminent risk. About a year
ago, a logger who worked for a contractor who collaborated with "Hellenic Gold" lost his
life during work.
For months, "El Dorado Gold" says he will leave (third time in 4 years), stopping work in
Squires and canceling the planned inauguration of the mines in the Olympiad. It warns
(threatening) the government that it will suspend its investment and gold-medal project in
Halkidiki and Thrace. The Canadian company wants this way to push the government towards
satisfying all the lucrative conditions it has set itself. At the same time, of course,
the drilling rig has begun in new positions. One is located near "Vryssi Galatsanou" and
the other two in the area of Tsikaras. The government, on the other hand, is a consensual
observer who, through the issue of extraction permits,
The struggle for the emancipation of man from all forms of power and exploitation is
integral to the cessation of the exploitation of nature by man. Capital, in order to be
reproduced by the subduction of surplus value from human labor, undermines not only the
world of production and the social base in general, but also plunder the natural
environment, the exploitation of which generates profits for the capitalists. The rampant
and horizontal struggles aimed at ending the tyranny of the state and the capital, which
aim to create self-directed free-productive communities, are those that will depend on the
satisfaction of human needs with harmonious co-existence with nature. On the contrary, the

The inter-union mobilization of December 14 has mobilized very little in terms of the
number of strikers. Act V of the movement seems a success despite a slight decline in
mobilization. The hypothesis of an act VI seems to be moving away because of the
end-of-year holidays. This movement has shown the need for direct democracy. The social
movements underway have suffered a very strong police repression. Finally the movement
started in high schools and in the facs could be reborn in September. ---- 1. Yellow vests
still mobilized ---- December 14 and 15 were marked by different mobilizations: the 14th,
the day of action called by the CGT, Solidaires and the FSU has mobilized little,
especially in terms of strike. The mobilization was not negligible in education but the
other sectors are not or little down in the street. Does this mark a limit of union
strategy in the period of wanting to create a mobilization "next door" to that of the
Yellow Vests, rather than reinforcing it ? As confidence in collective action is reborn
across the country, there is a fundamental work to be done to restore confidence in the
strike as a tool of social transformation capable of destabilizing the economy enough to
achieve social progress.
December 15 marked Act V of the Yellow Vests movement. The mobilization seems to be down
but is maintained, and this on the whole territory, 10 days of the holiday season. Even
so, the repression is fierce. It has seemed in recent weeks that in many places roundabout
blockages have turned into blocks of commercial or industrial activity areas, which would
be more effective in terms of balance of power if these blockages held.
Trade union organizations have generally missed the meeting with the movement that has
been going on for at least a month, at least at the national level, whereas this
mobilization shows that there is anger and conflictuality in a large part of the
population. This undoubtedly points to the challenge for trade union organizations to
renew their practices and reconnect with local militant development.
2. Act VI after the holidays ?
A massive VI Act on December 22, 3 days of Christmas, is unlikely. The conflictuality is
not strong enough to sabotage this moment of reunion often family. However, holidays can
give time to breathe and exchange about the next mobilization. An Act VI early 2019 is
possible, but it is being built right now. But above all, apart from the weekly "Acts"
essentially turned on Paris, for the movement of the yellow jackets itself, the stake is
the pursuit on the ground, on the roundabouts, the tolls, where this movement lives and
has been built (with its contradictions) for a month.
3. A horizontal movement that allows you to talk about politics
What this movement shows is indisputably a desire for more democracy, more room for
everyone in collective decisions. The popularity of the RIC is a proof, even if one
wonders if this slogan is not likely to divert some of the yellow jackets from the direct
action to obtain concrete social advances.
The democratic question is also posed through the rejection of any representative of
Yellow Vests at the national level. This is accompanied by a rapid politicization of
actors and actresses of the movement, a desire to talk politics. Not politics and
elections, but the organization of society, the way we make collective decisions,
distribute the money, and so on. It is necessary to multiply the spaces of discussion,
material as virtual.
The libertarian communists have things to offer ; in the period they can be heard by many
and they must be worn.
4. Against repression
The current social movement, that of the Yellow Vests, but also high school students,
students, and workers, is severely repressed.
A woman died in Marseille. Several people were mutilated, injured, beaten, insulted by the
police and the gendarmerie.
But the repression does not take place only in the street. It also takes place in police
stations and courts of law. Police have arrested thousands of people for a month. Tens of
thousands of hours of police custody were carried out. Preventive arrests prior to a
protest have become commonplace. Custody at random, a habit.
Worse, protesters against this dear life that rots and rapes us on a daily basis are
currently in prison ! In prison for expressing his disagreement with an unjust policy, a
source of inequality and poverty !
This repression serves only to quell the revolt, it serves to frighten people who are
never heard and who now speak instead of waiting indefinitely for it to be given to them.
It serves to humiliate, too, as we have seen on the images of high school students
Mantes-la-Jolie landed by cops in lack of authority. We demand amnesty for all the victims
of the repression of the social movement. Our solidarity with them is total.
5. In youth, prospects for the autumn
In high schools, the mobilization seems to be weakening as the holidays approach, but it
seems possible to revive it after the start of the new year: the government still has
nothing to announce about the youth, and the anger of high school is deep . The
particularly brutal repression, both by the police and the high school administrations,
has temporarily weakened the fight, but a call from youth organizations should allow it to
be restructured quickly.
Among students, there are universities blocked unlimitedly (Nanterre) and, more often than
not, occasionally (Lyon 2 ...). Rising tuition fees are hurting students, with massive
general meetings on many sites, but the method of blocking seems to be increasingly
questioned. In Rennes 2, an AG gathering 4000 people refused to renew it.
It is at the junction between high school students and students that it will work at the
beginning of the school year.

Lola Gutierrez, an anarchist from Spain, is on trial today when a young Kurdish refugee
has been arrested for demonstrating solidarity in 2016 to leave Greece and reunite with
her family. The Kurdish political immigrant helped Lola Gutierrez to try to cross from
Greece to Barcelona in order to visit his family who fled from the war in Spain to his
family. On November 26, 2016, Gutierrez and the Kurdish immigrant were arrested at the
Eleftherios Venizelos Airport in Athens, trying to pass through the passport control as 26
mother and son 26. Gutierrez had been deported to Spain after being held in the detention
center in Elliniko until December 8 for helping a person without legal documents.
Gutierrez may be sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment in a hearing at the Court of Appeal
in Athens today.
In Athens, the Solidarity Initiative said, dair Immigration is a human right and neither
government nor laws can prevent it. implementation of the agreement between the European
Union and Turkey in the Mediterranean, thousands of people were killed. Refugee camps,
deportations, exiles, prisons, delayed family reunions and violent repression in Greece
contribute to the protection of Europe, which has fought to make its borders untouchable.

Last weekend, Manchester and Liverpool Solidarity Federation organised pickets in support
of 6 Brighton student tenants. The tenants have been organising with Brighton SolFed after
being treated appallingly by the Brighton letting agency, Fox and Sons. Treatment which
led to the 6 students being made temporarily homeless. ---- Manchester SF picketed
Gascoigne Halmon estate agents, while Liverpool picket Jones & Chapman, both are sister
companies of Fox and sons. All three companies are owned by Connells group, one of the
largest estate agency and property services providers in the UK, which last year made
£104.2m in profits. In turn, the Connells group is owned by the ever so friendly - we do
not have shareholders - Skipton Building Society.
The 6 Brighton tenants' treatment by Fox and Sons has been disgraceful. In February 2018
the 6 students paid £1650 agency fees as a deposit on a property they were due to move in
on September 1st. On the 30th of August, the day before they were due to move in, they
received an email from Fox and sons stating that they would be unable to move in on the
agreed date of the 1st September. No alternative accommodation or any sort or compensation
was offered, nor was a revised move in date agreed.
On 3rd September the tenants received a further email from Fox & Sons giving a revised
move in date of 8th September. This was followed on the 6th September, by an email
notifying the 6 people that the property had been withdrawn and they would no longer be
able to move in. They were informed that the letting agency fees would be refunded to them
on 6th September but they were not actually refunded until 16th September.
Throughout this dispute Fox and sons have refused to communicate with the tenants, they
have not replied to any of the many emails sent by the tenants to Fox & Sons. When the
tenants telephoned Fox & Sons for updates, Fox and Sons regularly hung up on them.
Faced with nowhere to live at such short notice, the 6 tenants were homeless, and had to
rely on friends who allowed them to sleep on their sofas. The search for new accommodation
at such short notice was stressful, to say the least, and the 6 tenants had little choice
but to rent accommodation that was much more expensive than they had originally intended
to pay. The search for somewhere to live was also made more difficult due to the delay in
refunding the money they were owed.
The 6 tenants are now demanding that Fox and sons pay them an amount equal to the
difference in rent for the year on the more expensive property the tenants were forced to
find at the last minute.
Due to the sharp rise in student numbers, there is a chronic shortage of student
accommodation, allowing landlords to charge extortionate rents and treat tenants
appallingly The only way to stop this is to take action and supporting people who are
taking action.
