The Scottish Wildcat could go extinct if the Government doesn't do more to protect their habitat.

Dear friends,
There may only be 35 pure-breed Scottish Wildcats left in the wild in Scotland. There are so few that estimating their population accurately has proved very difficult.
Deforestation and breeding with feral domestic cats, producing hybrids, is leading to the loss of this beautiful species of wild animal. We need the Scottish Government to protect the forests that are left, and to invest in replanting forests that we've lost.
We also need them to deploy a mass programme of neutering feral domestic cats too. This would not only help to protect the pure-breed Scottish wildcat as a species, but is a humane way to control the population of non-native species of domestic cats.
Thank you,
P.S. Scotland is already running some limited reforestation programmes to help wildcats, so they admit there is a problem already. But so much needs to be done, urgently. Sign this petition to show the Scottish Government that the world is watching and wildcats need them to take action, now.
