Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui, a sociologist, historian, filmmaker and feminist activist, was
born in La Paz, Bolivia, in 1949. She became one of the most important intellectuals in
Latin America, a multitalented woman, a rural teacher, a teacher against the Coca ban,
filmmaker, anarchist, lover of plants and traditional Andean cuisine. His intellectual
project and militant life always went hand in hand. ---- When the Bolivian dictatorships
sent her into exile, Silvia wrote the book "Oppressed but not defeated", which became a
classic, where the dogmatic left was challenged that never accepted the Indians as
political actors. ---- In his speech, Rivera intends to seek the connection with our
pre-Hispanic Indian past, the recovery of the language, accents, expressions, knowledge
and knowledge Afro and indigenous that has been denied by centuries of colonialism and
Eurocentrism. It raises the need to decolonize the look, to generate a thought of its own;
that the approaches created in Latin America are accepted as knowledge and not simply as
knowledge.
The struggle of the sociologist revolves around retaking all the knowledge that has been
overlooked, through centuries of colonialism and Eurocentrism, in our lands. Rivera's
proposals are based on explaining that we are a mixed race and impure, but we should seek
our afro and indigenous past, where we are proud of our roots. Only in this way can we not
only decolonize knowledge but also do it with being, away from this idea of happiness or
the better world that capitalist modernity sells to us.
On November 30, 2018, Silvia Rivera gave a lecture titled "Decolonizing Social Sciences in
Latin America", in the auditorium of the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the University
of Cauca in Popayan. Rivera gave a context on the indigenous resistance movements held in
Colombia at the hands of Quintin Lame.
Professor Rivera emphasized the intention to recover the ancestral lands that had been
taken from the Colombian natives by the Kingdom of Spain, and later by the Republic of
Colombia: "When the formal colony ends in the 1820s, with the establishment of republics,
relations colonial relations do not end, in fact, deepen these relations and also disguise
themselves; this makes liberal colonialism become more perverse, the Spanish colonialism
formal gives rise to a new mechanism of domination, which is the declaration of equality
of all before the law, which is really a fictitious equality, because in fact to the
people indigenous peoples are recognized only one right: the right to sell their land. "
The movements led by literate Indians, who did the work of recovering their own memory
through orality and then with the help of paleography, tried to move away from the
Eurocentric models that had been imposed on them in different universities. From then on,
due to the rejection that their knowledge and languages had, little by little the
indigenous peoples created connections between the students who later would generate
resistances.
In this sense, Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui pointed out: "The indigenous movements have made a
connection between history and mythology. Myth and history begin to combine to make sense
of the struggle that goes beyond material. That is, those spaces that had been
appropriated by the farms were not only seen as the materialization of land reclamation,
but were also seen as a sacred place, mountains, guaduas (a typical plant), where the
rituals were done, and that today continue to be resistant to invasion. "

"Anarchist books are weapons against modern totalitarianism" ---- All the titles of the
books here. ---- "... Anarchism, as a revolutionary critique of the existing system, is
the radical outcome of the social path for evolution. At the same time, it is a
revolutionary response to the decomposition of the concepts that this development is
creating ... " ---- Nico Berti ---- In the past 2 years, the kinematic bookstore of the
anarchist group "dwarf horse" operates in the city of Patras. This exercise is an
essential part of our wider effort to socialize the anarchist precepts and, more broadly,
to the social-class struggle today, to spread and spread the anarchist /
anti-authoritarian / libertarian perception, culture and practice, to preserve the socio-
the class of memory against the oblivion that the powers seek to impose, and the emergence
- as far as possible - of the wealth of anarchist concepts and practices, proposals,
positions and struggles. n anarchists on a number of issues at the political and social
reality of our time.
Besides, it is the reality and the daily struggle in the 15 years of existence of the
group, the self-criticism and the reflection that we had to do several times during this
time that led us to the conclusion that there can be no political movement aimed at to
overthrow the existing system of exploitation and oppression, without developing its own
political theory and proposition, without drawing a strategic struggle to see where it
wants to go, so unwavering as to values defends, flexible in relation to the logic fed by
social needs and able to inspire the oppressed and exploited in order to motivate the
struggle for social liberation.
As anarchists and anarchists, we consider it particularly important to disseminate our
precepts to society, especially to the youth of the city, at a time when government
propaganda at the expense of those who resist self-organization and from the bottom
dominates, while racism, social cannibalism, and fiction are displayed as the only choices
of a society in crisis. We are thus attempting to point out a different and divergent
perspective on the one-way street of state and capitalist barbarity and on the "there is
no alterative" of the rulers. The lively outlook of struggles, class solidarity, social
self-organization and fighting resistance.
At the same time, at a time when the resistance movements are subject to devaluation
conditions for political fermentation and deepening, it is our position to promote the
culture of self-education, political and theoretical search, the preservation of social
and class memory in relation to culture the lifestyle of anarchism and the policy
hooliganism, are particularly important moments in the direction of the wider
reconstruction of the radical and revolutionary movement.
"Never once has a movement spoken so little about itself".
Although the modern Greek anarchist movement is seemingly new and its establishment dates
back to the early years of the post-conflict, little is known about it and its evolution.
To study the rich history of the struggles that anarchists have given over the years and
to use it as a springboard for the organization of the anarchist struggle. Be inspired by
the Spanish anarchists, the Krostande uprising, the Makhnovist movement in Ukraine, the
Chicago uprising, the historic anarchist movement in Italy, and the innumerable examples
of revolutionary movements that continue to fight for the social release.

Since the United States entered into the Second World War considerably late, it did not
suffer as much damage or casualties as other countries had. It also helped that its
geographical location kept its cities from suffering the infrastructural damage seen
across cities in Europe and Asia. This, in part, helped the American Empire to replace the
British Empire (although Britain is still an imperial power) as the global hegemon,
especially when the American economy took less time to recover in comparison. And so began
the all-conquering march of the U.S. Dollar, undoubtedly the American Empire's most
powerful expression of its global domination and global monopoly.
As per requirements during WWII, most of Europe under a war economy had to import its
consumer goods. The United States, which had yet to enter into the War, was readily
available to trade consumer goods with Europe for gold; and it had done the same in the
First World War, to which it was also a latecomer. In other words, over the course of the
two World Wars, it had been accumulating these gold reserves so that by 1944 it acquired
two-thirds of the world's reserves, thus overwhelming Europe's markets with dollar loans.
Having gained the economic and monetary upper-hand, the U.S. sought to make the Dollar the
world's reserve currency. In that same year, the Bretton Woods Conference - also known as
the United Nations Monetary and Financial Conference - reached an agreement on a series of
new rules for the post-WWII international monetary system, leading to the creation of the
International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the International Bank for Reconstruction and
Development (IBRD). In other words, almost every currency in the world was required to be
tied to the Dollar at a fixed rate, and the Dollar could only be tied to gold. This
catapulted the United States to global superpower status.
While its client states (such as South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Colombia) and its support
for proxy forces were the worldwide economic and military fronts of its power projection
platform, the Dollar was the international monetary facet. With Western European powers
indebted to the U.S. Dollar, the United States was free to spread its influence throughout
their states and their politics, helping them to crush many of the communist and labour
movements within their own countries. It also helped to seal the Western European states'
alliances with the United States with the shared goal of destroying the Soviet Union, as
well as uniting in attacking other countries in Eastern Europe and countries in the Global
South that refused to allow U.S. capital into their countries.
However, between 1965 and 1971, U.S. imperialism encountered a problem: the U.S. lost over
50% of its gold which meant there was nothing to back its Dollar currency, unless it could
reach some kind of solution. How did the U.S. lose a large amount of its gold reserves?
During the 1960's, the United States' balance of payments deficits exceeded its gold stock
- its international outgoing payments and expenditures over that period of time had become
excessive - such that it became unable to redeem dollars for gold at the official price.
By 1971, the U.S. reached an international monetary crisis point. What was happening
during this particular period of time? The U.S. War on Vietnam, where the U.S. military
had a very robust presence with a total of 9,087,000 American military personnel having
served on active duty by the end of the war, involved a twenty-year imperialist onslaught
against the Vietnamese liberation forces, starting in 1955 and ending in 1975. From 1961
to 1975, the U.S. spent more than $141 billion trying to restore colonial rule over
Vietnam and keep North and South Vietnam divided; and as we know, it ended in a victory
for the resilient anti-imperialist forces of Vietnam. For this specific imperial venture,
the financial costs were so great for the U.S. that it had started to borrow money from
Europe - but it was unable to repay the debts with its dwindling gold stock and increasing
deficits. The U.S. tried to resolve the issue with the debt repayments by printing money
to make gold more expensive, but that failed and the deficits continued to grow.
Because of this crisis in 1971, then-President Richard Nixon suspended the Dollar's gold
exchange rate (or its ability to be converted to gold). As a response, the fiat system was
introduced to remove the need for gold and fixed exchange rates, while still maintaining
the Dollar as the international currency. The fiat system meant that there was no real,
material, or physical commodity to back the U.S. Dollar and therefore no real value; and
yet, the world's currencies are still tied to it. Indeed, it is a curious phenomenon, but
such is the power of the Dollar as one political analyst describes,
"...[A]kind of money that relied on the trust of the public and the legitimization of the
government, rather than relying on a real commodity. As a result, the US dollar was,
metaphorically speaking, based on thin air; it had no value as a physical entity; its
value was based solely on trust."
And with constantly fluctuating world currency exchange rates, there is an increase in
value of the U.S. Dollar, which comes with the decrease in value of poorer nations'
currencies - thus facilitating cheaper exports created by cheap exploited labour in these
Third World countries. If any of these poorer nations were to gain independence and
challenge U.S. global hegemony, as Cuba (and many others like it) had done to liberate
itself from the backward mafia state it once was, then it would mean that the United
States would do what it can to cut them off from the world's resources by any means
necessary including force.
Whether it be in the form of imposing economic sanctions, CIA-backed coups, or illegal
bombing campaigns, with that kind of power and control over the world economy the U.S. can
act unilaterally, defying the UN Charter and all international law.

Last Thursday CNT Zaragoza held a picket in solidarity with a worker fired by Aniser
Facility in Iruña, hired through the ETT Eurofirms. ---- On December 12, our partner Pape,
affiliated with CNT in Iruña , received a letter of dismissal in which the management of
Aniser Facility communicated the decision to terminate their employment, under the pretext
of alleged disrespect company management personnel. ---- Pape was hired through the ETT
Eurofirms , a company linked to Aniser Facility, which in turn is contracted by
Euroestampaciones SA . ---- From CNT, we are clear that the real causes of his dismissal
have been the claim by Pape to your company of your rights as a worker. In August 2018 he
had to claim in writing his right to enjoy his paid holidays, and ten days before
receiving the letter of dismissal had also shown in writing his dissatisfaction with the
amount of his recent payroll and the percentage of retention from the same.
For this reason, last afternoon we conducted an information picket in front of the
headquarters of Eurofirms in Zaragoza (Santa Lucia Street), which claimed the
reinstatement of our companion and leaflets were distributed informing the neighborhood,
which approached with much interest to ask for this conflict, the way of acting of the
company.

The following is a statement on the current political crisis and U.S. backed coup underway
in Venezuela produced by Solidaridad, a libertarian communist political organization in
Chile. In the coming days we will be publishing an additional statement written jointly by
anarchist groups in Brazil and Uruguay. For additional analysis we recommend our archive
of articles and statements on Venezuela. ---- Translation by Francisco C., Black Rose/Rosa
Negra. ---- Original Link
https://www.facebook.com/notes/peri%C3%B3dico-solidaridad/comunicado-p%C3%BAblico-sobre-la-situaci%C3%B3n-de-venezuela-solidaridad-chile/2103489023052305/
---- A Public Statement on the Situation in Venezuela ---- Venezuela is going through a
profound crisis of which it is impossible to exempt the responsibility of the leadership
of Chavismo: the failure in opening a path that allows the country to overcome the
dependence of oil, the inefficiency in implementing measures that better the economic
situation of the country, the bureaucracy that is drowning the popular initiative and the
cases of corruption that affect officials who move key aspects of the economy. These are
some of the unresolved problems.
Nevertheless, this situation is within the framework of a polarization and conflict of
classes where the Venezuelan right-wing, the loyal representative of the well-off sectors
in the country in conjunction with diverse administrations from the U.S. government, has
unfolded a destabilizing strategy intended to asphyxiate the Venezuelan economy
contributing to the deterioration to the living conditions of millions of people. The
objective of this effort is to undermine the popular support that has mainly sustained the
process of change in Venezuela.
Even worse, this right-wing, which presents itself as a democratic alternative and which
hides its despise for the working class behind a false language that appeals to justice
and respect to a constitution they had once insulted, operates in a criminal manner
sharpening the levels of violence. Behind the figure of[self-proclaimed interim
President]Juan Guaidó and the Voluntad Popular or Popular Will party, hiding behind the
high-flown speeches amplified by the media has been an insurrectionary strategy which
unfolded with armed attacks on military barracks,[1]destruction of health centers,[2]the
burning of warehouses with food destined to vulnerable,[3]among other multiple actions of
sabotage went on during these years. It came to the point where social leaders were being
killed by hired hitmen[4]and to the burning alive of people simply for being Chavistas.[5]
From what's mentioned above we've learned that if the right gains power in Venezuela
again, not only will it implement adjustment policies that include privatization of public
enterprises, massive indebtedness with bodies like the IMF, and the opening of oil
projects where private companies assume as principal shareholders,[6]but it will also be a
government of revenge where the hate accumulated during these years will unfold brutally
against organized sectors of the people who dared to dream of a country that would
transition to non-capitalist ways of living together.
The realization of a profound balance between Latin American progressives and in
particular from the Venezuelan experience, even with all its contradictions and potential
is a pending task for the left. Suffice it to say that many of these experiences have
given way to political processes that directly harm the working class. Nevertheless, and
despite the legitimate differences that we openly express with those who lead the
Venezuelan process, the left and the people have to be emphatic in rejecting this new coup
attempt - the ominous interference of the U.S and the other countries related to the
destabilizing strategy which includes the government of[Chilean President Sebastián]Piñera
and the political sectors who support its foreign policy all the way from Chile. Along
with this we must demand the governments who quickly squared with the position of the
United States to respect the rights of the Venezuelan people to its own conflicts without
the interference of other states establishing as a minimum floor the non-recognition of
the diplomatic delegations won over by Guaído.
We manifest our solidarity with the people of Venezuela directly from our organization,
especially with the fringes who even against the grain of the Chavista leadership and
assuming all the contradictions of the change in process, protagonize[fight for]new
experiences in building popular power that range from the takeovers of the land, the
socialization of self-managed companies by its own workers or the government from below in
rural and urban communities,[7]and obtaining spaces that prefigure the path of the people
who fight against the ominous consequences of patriarchal capitalism we want to overcome.

The Kurdish people are divided between several states: Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Iran ... In
each of them, the Kurds see their cultural and political rights flouted. ---- In Turkey,
the repression is particularly fierce. The Kurdish political leader and theorist Abdullah
Ocalan has been imprisoned in Imrali prison-island since he was kidnapped in 1999, under
conditions repeatedly denounced by the European Court of Human Rights: unfair trial,
Isolation equated with torture ... In Turkish prisons and around the world, hunger strikes
are carried out to demand the end of his isolation and his release ---- In northern Syria,
the Kurds took up arms to fight "the Islamic State" (or Daesh) alongside a US-led
coalition including France, a task that has almost come to an end. . The Kurds began to
build a communal-based federal society where the rights of women and minorities are
respected, which is a notable exception in the region. They do not ask for the creation of
a Kurdish state, but only the right to self-administer in the areas where they are present.
But Erdogan's Turkey and its Islamist allies (Al-Qaeda trend) want to put an end to this
democratic experiment for fear that it will prove contagious. They have already attacked
and occupied a large portion of territory in northwestern Syria, where they practiced
ethnic cleansing. They now threaten to take advantage of the announced withdrawal of US
troops to occupy the entire Kurdish area of Syria, raising fears of genocide.
Why support our Kurdish allies ?
Because by fighting "the Islamic State", even outside their settlements, they have
protected us and still protect us from attacks in Europe.
Because they hold about 2600 Islamist Daesh terrorists, including 500 Europeans, who risk
being released by Turkey and could join our continent.
This is why we ask:
France to support the Kurds in Rojava and to vote for the withdrawal of Turkish troops
from Syria.
The release of political prisoners in Turkey, including that of Abdullah Öcalan.
The withdrawal of the PKK (Workers' Party of Kurdistan) from the European list of
terrorist organizations.
A just and lasting peace for all peoples in Syria as in Turkey.

At least, the current situation of Azat Miftachov confirms this traditional experience
from Stalinist times. Yesterday, we published information on the raid of the Russian
police, and on the same day the following information appeared about the development of
the case: ---- On Thursday, February 7th, a trial was held to allow Azata Miftachov to
extend his custody. "I just learned that my agent Azat Miftachov was released," said
Azat's defense attorney Svetlana Sidorkin. ---- Azat Miftachov was arrested on February 1
and other students of Moscow University for alleged suspicion of explosives production.
All arrests are members of anarchist organization. The others were subsequently dismissed
as witnesses. Finally, the Balihichin City Court upheld the prosecutor's request and
prolonged Miftach's bond.
Azat Miftachov came to study in Moscow from Tatarstan. He argued in the arrest that in
September last year he tested explosives of his own production in the University Park.
Later, however, the lawyer denied his confession with the fact that no evidence existed.
During the arrest, guns, traces of explosives, and anarchist literature were discovered at
Azat.
LAST MODIFY:
Advocate Svetlana Sidorkin told the media that Azata Miftachov was arrested again. The
attorney still does not know the details, she does not know what the paragraph is about.
Apparently this will be the "proven" paragraph 214 - vandalism (or defamation of buildings
and other objects) that they use secretly.
