The Winter Number of the Anarchist Revue Existence reflects 25 years since the beginning
of the indigenous uprising in the South African Chiapas. ---- Anarchist Revue
Existenceteaches her winter number another year. Just like last year, we are planning to
issue only two issues this year. Although it is actually a single anarchist magazine that
is not subculturally focused on demand, there is no big terrain. The existence with one
really long break has been published since 1998. So we have twenty years of subversive
journalism. And it is true that nothing has changed so much over the years, and it seems
that the world has gone crazy, with more and more insane figures appearing at the head of
the states, and the response to the catastrophic climate changes that take place outside
the window is to pull down the blinds. However, this does not discourage us from our
efforts, which are based on our abilities, interests and commitment, as well as time and
personnel capacities. We're here and we're not going to change anything. Trying to fight
for a free world

But now to the main topic of this issue. When we decided to be historic again, like the
100th anniversary of the October Revolution in Russia or the 50th anniversary of the
tumultuous year of 1968, or the current one, we remembered the classic Božena Nemcová - a
clever burner. So now we commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Zapatist uprising, which
dates back to January 1, 1994, the moment when Zapata's National Liberation Army (EZLN)
stepped out of the Chiapas jungle to claim the autonomy of the indigenous peoples of the
region in good or bad terms. But this time we do not stop at the anniversary, as the
Zapatist movement was not defeated, even though the ruling strata in Mexico tried to do so
and do not stop in their efforts. So, we are on our site dedicated to a living movement
that has undergone a dynamic development and is no longer in the fight. In addition, it
promotes principles

With the preparation of the theme, we have been fundamentally helped by the cooperative
team Black Seeds, which focuses on distributing coffee from Zapatist cooperatives. One of
the texts is dedicated to coffee and related cooperatives, whether they are producers in
Chiapas or processing and distribution in Europe. Furthermore, Black Seeds has prepared an
article translation by Leonidas Oikonomakis, editor of ROAR magazine. It deals with the
emergence of EZLN, responds to criticism especially from the old left, points to the
successes of the Zapatistas and their ideological basis. We did not, and with our
co-operatives we also made a very interesting interview. If nothing else, we recommend
that you read it. The interviewees do not focus only on their own activities, they also
describe their impressions of visits to the Zapatista regions and coffee cooperatives,
talk about the current problems of the Zapatist uprising and what they have to face,
commenting on revolutionary tourism. One of the interviewers spoke with us directly from
Chiapas, so be aware that these are some of the most up-to-date information available in
the area.

For ease of reference, we have prepared a brief overview of the history of the most
important events associated with the military and civilian actions of the Zapatistas, as
well as with the attacks of the government and paramilitaries against them. "Slowly, But
Forward" is the apt title of the article, which draws on the book Compañeras Hilary
Kleinová and focuses on the struggle of women for equality, which has become one of the
most distinctive external features of the Zapatist movement. While it is a revolutionary
step forward, there is still something to do. At the same time, the article, rich in
quotes, also reflects on our own reserves and is complemented by the medallions of four
important zapatistek. The main issue of the issue is then concluded with an overview of
information, protest and solidarity activities that took place in the Czech basin in 1994
to support the Zapatist uprising.

Outside the theme, we bring an excerpt of the Czech translation of Peter Gelderloos's book
Anarchy Works, which he is preparing for the publishing of AF Publishing. The selected
text deals with the notion of justice as it is approached in the state society and how it
is, or it could be in stateless societies. The practice is then imbued with an article
about CRIBS, which provides temporary accommodation for refugees in Greece, who are either
pregnant or have a newborn baby. In the "History of Movement" section, Vadim Damier takes
us to 1919 to introduce us to the Republic of Hungary first, and then to the revolutionary
syndicalist struggle in Peru. Against the background of the story of Buddhist spiritual
Gudo Uchiyama, we will come to terms with how "religion" and anarchism met in Japan at the
beginning of the 20th century. But we'll stay with religion for a while, on the one hand,
through the personal confession of the anarchist leaving the womb of the Roman Catholic
Church and then in the thought of dusting anarchist anti-clericalism. And there is also a
bit of culture, other than engaged, in an interview with members of the BIMB multi-arts
platform. Next inThe existence of traditionally find an overview of the activities of
domestic anti-authoritarian movement, news about events in AF, texts wall newspaper A3 and
a number of reviews on the books, comics and zines.

We wish inspirational reading.

Today (09/03) at CNT we still savor the energy, the warmth, the unanimous cry of all the
people who yesterday (08/03) flooded the streets of Madrid. The soul of a woman who
breathed everywhere. The feminist face, the looks set to make way. ---- For the second
year in a row, the aerial imagery on the TV screens did not give a good account of the
airborne crash, or the overflowing joy that had sprung up since someone was riding the
nearby train or the subway to try to get to any of the points where the various
collectives had stayed to meet. Since the first hour of afternoon, there was no longer a
pin in the streets, although the calls for the demonstration were hours later.
Behind it was the intense work of the CNT's companions, participating in a thousand
assemblies and neighborhood collectives, meeting with women's groups, organizing internal
training workshops, giving lectures in work centers, in a thousand places, without
stopping for months and months.

Organized in the Greve committees, legalizing documentation or negotiating minimum
services with companies and administrations. And of its extraordinary, complex, arduous
and difficult fruit for a union that has neither liberated, nor subsidies, nor great
structures, suddenly the magic of revolution, Strike, mutual support, the achievement of
common dreams.

For a day, as the beginning of what is to come, we have all been companions in the street.
Alongside the 8M Commissions, from the PAH (Mortgage Amateur Platform) companions, along
with women's fighters from "Domestic Territory", gypsy communities, giving voice to all
women from other places, from other worlds. Together. unstoppable.

The journey had begun on Thursday, the 7th, at midnight. Throughout the Spanish territory
were organized trade unions, strike pickets, communication groups, care spaces. The
companions had put on the apron and rolled up their sleeves decisively to leave the street
and the word to the women. In all the unions we organized breakfasts, lunches, and places
where children and old people could rest, in the care of our companions.

Annotated and denounced are attempts to boycott the strike by state institutions. We saw
how the city of Madrid prevented the passage of sound equipment of the "Class and Combat
Block" in a new order, as the Valladolid did not allow the comrades of the strike
committee to enter their premises, as the Barcelona police cornered to the companions
defending the capitalist castle of El Corte Inglés. And many other examples of how
politics fills the mouth with feminist intentions and soon uses its arms against us.

Today, the day after another historic March 8, we will not stand still. Let's get up from
that sticky floor that usually swallows us, and we will lay the foundations to dismantle
this predatory capitalist system. We love the Mother Earth that we tread. We know what
cooperation and mutual support means. We are not interested in success or ambition. We do
not want to participate in any form of power or domination. We are not interested in
reproducing the hierarchical structures of the patriarchal system.

The State can never guarantee equality. Horizontality, solidarity, looking beyond our
territory. Humanity, in the feminine, this will be our strategy when it comes to ending
all relations of domination.

There is no turning back. We want you alive. Free. Gorgeous. Crazy. And we will not stop
until our voice goes around the world from end to end of the planet. Yesterday we felt we
had strength. How together and organized we are going to change the world. We are not in a
hurry. We will not stop until we get it. And on this trip to the horizon, we will learn to
unlearn and build this new world that we carry in our hearts. Tomorrow is ours, comrades.

Plunged into misery by the economic and political failure of the " Bolivarian Revolution "
initiated by Hugo Chavez, the Venezuelan people has nothing to gain in replacing the
authoritarian Maduro by the self-proclamation of the bourgeois politician Juan Guaido to
the head of the state, supported by the threat of US military intervention. ---- The
situation in Venezuela is dramatic: inflation of 24,571% in 2018, 85% drop in legal
minimum income and average income, wages that do not even cover commuting, increased
infant mortality, food shortage and drugs, exodus of three million Venezuelans, daily
repression [1], possible US invasion and risk of civil war. ---- Faced with this, two
positions clash but do not meet the popular needs of democracy and well-being: for
Chavismo, there is a revolutionary process and the flaws are due to an external culprit
having caused an economic crisis, financial cultural, political and social, constantly
conspiring against the " revolution ". For the traditional opposition, it is necessary to
put the economy and finances on the " right track " of capitalism, with the help of the
United States and restore the old regime while calling for elections.

The gain of social struggles has shaped the Bolivarian Constitution as a transformative
project, far beyond the reduction of poverty. But the upheavals did not take place: no
post-capitalist society and no revolutionary process. There has been no change in the
production system, the structure of property, social power, or the destruction of the old
political system. Any transformation project has been abandoned in favor of "
modernization " projects , which are also very successful, in capitalist relations and
integration into the world market.

The political choice of extractivism [2]made by the governments of Chavez and Maduro [3],
with just the financing of social plans and without any questioning of the productive
structure, perpetuated the neocolonial scheme of international division of the work and
nature. It even deepened it since oil now accounts for 96% of the country's exports, the
strongest dependency in its history.

The exhaustion of " oil socialism "
" Dutch disease " [4]dismantled industrial and agricultural productive capacity: import
was " cheaper " than producing. Venezuela has become in fifteen years the importer of
virtually all food products, including rice and coffee, of which he was a traditional
exporter. The automotive industry reduced its production by 89% between 2007 and 2015,
returning to the level of 1962, the birth of Venezuelan domestic industry.

It is the state that recovers and manages the manna of rents due to the export of oil ; it
is the source of quasi-institutional clientelism, the only way in which the population
manages to benefit from social programs whose release is the sole responsibility of PSUV
officials. [5]After the 2014 financial crisis, social spending budgets were reduced ; it
is the livelihoods of a large part of the population that have been challenged. In
addition, it has increased dependence on local supply and production committees, the only
sources of food.

In response to this massive economic crisis, the Maduro government has become bogged down
in extractivism. On 24 February 2016, it created the Orinoco Mining Arc, covering 12.2% of
the country, a " National Strategic Development Zone " where constitutional guarantees no
longer apply flouting a 1989 decree establishing the " reserve ". of the Alto Orinoco
biosphere ". This policy applies without any consultation of indigenous villages and
communities or study of its social and environmental impact. The mining arch, with its
precious underground gold, copper, diamonds, iron, bauxite, coltan among other minerals,
diversifies the offer enticing all the multinationals of the planet. Russian and Chinese
capital is the backbone of most concessions, to the detriment of the United States.

Indigenous communities do not want mining in their territories because the consequences
are irreversible for the ecosystem and social organization of these peoples. Their main
demand is the demarcation of lands and their protection.

Worker resistances
In recent years, several social struggles have been able to crack the chauvinist cadre of
the working class. In 2011, within the state-owned Ferrominera del Orinoco ore mining
company, the workers tried to organize themselves independently of the official union
whose delegate, Hector Maican, member of the PSUV, fired several shots fire killing the
worker Renny Rojas. This official delegate was arrested in flagrante delicto, then
released after a few hours under the pressure of the PSUV while Rodney Alvarez trade
unionist was incarcerated without trial for seven and a half years.

Self-proclaiming self-proclamation
On 29 November, the Intersectorial de los Trabajadores workers' collective called for a
march to defend collective agreements, a salary equivalent to the basic basket and for the
reinstatement of the dismissed workers. Upon returning from these marches, Ruben Gonzalez,
general secretary of the SintraFerrominera union, was arrested. He had already served a
year and a half in prison under Chavez, for fighting for the rights of workers. Workers at
Venalum (aluminum) in La Pica in the north-east of the country had decided to take control
of the production: on December 12, the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence
invaded the scene and arrested several workers and union activists .

In Venezuela, all the actions of resistance or defense of the elementary rights are
accused of being violent and in the service of Yankee imperialism. Under the Maduro
government, these " offenses " are tried by military justice.
The nurses, for their part, fought a long and massive struggle, denouncing the absolute
lack of means. They have been victims in return of multiple lawsuits and criminalization
of their actions. Within the Caracas Metro Company, there are more than 100 illegal
dismissals. The list is long, anti-union repression.

The State representing the " national interest ", all struggles, demonstrations or
criticisms are presented and treated as threats. All the actions of resistance or defense
of the elementary rights are accused of being " violent " and " in the service of Yankee
imperialism ". Under the government of " comrade " Maduro, these " crimes " are tried by
the military justice.

Following the victory of the opposition in the 2015 legislative elections, the National
Assembly is 75% anti-Maduro. Even if the latter, " advised "By the army, recognizes his
defeat, it prevents the realization of the recalling presidential referendum in 2016,
unconstitutionally pushes the elections of the governors of the states and usurps the
attributions of the National Assembly in favor of the supreme court of justice and the
executive power. From February 2016, Maduro governs by decreeing the state of emergency.
Without respecting the Constitution, he calls for elections for another National Assembly
called Constituent, locking the electoral mechanism to ensure absolute control of this new
assembly. Once elected, the 545 members, instead of building a new draft constitution,
support the government, proclaiming itself as a super-constitutional assembly with full
powers. It dismisses officials,

The President of the National Assembly, Juan Guaido, proclaimed himself acting president
on January 23, 2019, unleashing an escalation of the crisis. Pretending the defense of
democracy and freedom, the member countries of the Lima Group [6]and the United States
immediately recognized this parallel state centered on the National Assembly and the
Supreme Court of Justice in exile. The United States has never defended freedom and
democracy in the world. Particularly on the American continent, the list of criminal
dictatorships set up and actively supported by Washington is very long. Therefore, the
reasons for this support are to look for an Uncle Sam in crisis of political and economic
hegemony. Russia's Putin and China's Xi Jinping support Maduro, which guarantees them,
among other things, the exploitation of the Orinoco Mining Arc, and lucrative arms sales
contracts for the last fifteen years. The Russians have invested around $ 17 million
mainly through the state oil company Rosneft. Beijing has invested $ 62 million, including
the $ 23 million of Venezuela's external debt. A government closer to the Capitol than to
the Kremlin and Zhongnanhai risks complicating their return on investment.

The popular organization, the only source of optimism
It is to be hoped that the deep violence of this crisis will help to dispel the
imagination of the endless oil wind, putting the end of a historic cycle under the
spotlight. Cecosesola 10 is an old network of cooperatives that links agricultural and
artisanal producers with urban consumers. Before the crisis, the tomato seeds used were
imported hybrid and therefore sterile. With the crisis it became impossible to import.
Farmers gather in search of indigenous seeds preserved in very small farms. Thus,
exchanges of seeds of potato, tomatoes take place and little by little one awakes of this
nightmare.

Rural and urban areas of social experimentation, the reappropriation of knowledge, tools
of struggle such as trade unions, means of production in which decisions are made by those
who create wealth in the service of the common good can emerge from the political and
social crisis.

[1] Since 1991, at least 297 people have died in or around a protest.

[2] Extractivism is the massive exploitation of the resources of nature or the biosphere.
This notion is broad and polysemous since it refers to all forms and all means of
industrial exploitation of nature.

[3] Hugo Chavez was president from 1999 to 2013 and Nicolas Maduro succeeded him.

[4]An economic phenomenon that links the exploitation of natural resources to the decline

We launched the second edition of the bulletin "Combate", which now represents the nucleus
of FOB in Parnaíba. Download < here -
https://lutafob.files.wordpress.com/2019/03/combate-fob-002-parnac3adba-piauc3ad-1.pdf >
or check the materials in full: ---- A CHANGE NEEDED ---- In the past, we began to publish
the bulletin "Combate" in Parnaíba. At that time, it circulated as a propaganda vehicle of
the Collective Autonomy and Struggle (CAL) of the UFPI. After intense grassroots work,
propaganda, debates, political formations and participation in acts and demonstrations,
FOB in Parnaíba grew. As a result, today "Combate" will represent all the organizations
affiliated with FOB in the city. For him, we will take the voice of thousands of workers,
students and students who are trying to survive here. Space is also open to independent
groups and organizations, that is, they have no links with parties, politicians,
governments and bosses.

ON THE STRIKE OF FID TEACHERS
Since November last year, teachers and professors of the History course at the Delta
International Faculty (FID) in Parnaíba have been on strike. Nothing more fair, since the
wages, already low, accumulate in consecutive delays. Just imagine, work the entire month
and not receive your salary! How to pay the bills, which only increase in that they are
not paid? How to feed? How to guarantee your own survival like this? It's impossible!
We must also remember the courage of these teachers who, even in a private college, dare
to fight to ensure minimum working conditions, giving a great example of fighting for what
is ours by right.
In our view, the cause of this is in the unbridled greed of education sharks, who earn
their money through programs like the FIES, and yet they do not want to pay their employees!
We can observe that in other crises of this type in Brazil, the colleges are leased by a
group of entrepreneurs of even greater education, who generally replace the face-to-face
course by EAD. Students need to be vigilant so that they do not let themselves be deceived
by the process of precarious work and education!
Given this, we have left our solidarity and willingness to collaborate in this process,
giving our unconditional support to the historic FID teachers' strike!

UFPI STUDENTS MAY NOT RECEIVE BOLSA THAT YEAR
The reality of the Federal University of Piauí, Parnaíba campus (now in the process of
becoming UFDPar) is of unstable weather. Coming from a sequence of cuts in outsourced
workers and student assistance that is no longer enough for the students' reality, it
comes as a bucket of cold water with the total cut of BAE (Student Aid Grant) for this
semester.
This bag, still worth 400 reais, serves as a support so that several students can survive,
albeit with difficulties, while facing the academic journey. The process of university
change happens without transparency, with a major focus on building buildings full of
laboratories and elevators, but no interest in ensuring the permanence of working-class
students at the university.
We understand this as a clear process of elitizing the university, which is ours. Without
scholarships, the sons and daughters of working men and women are unlikely to be able to
continue their studies, as scholarships ensure that students do not split up between some
part-time work (usually receiving little and working hard) and studies.
We must therefore fight for the guarantee of student aid, for guaranteeing our permanence
in this area and that of future students. We need to build a University at the service of
the people!

GREVE IN UESPI!
Year enters, leaves year and the State University of Piauí continues suffering with
scrapping and cuts of funds. Governor Wellignton Dias (PT) is proposing a new admiration
reform to take education even further, bringing UESPI down to the bottom. Teachers and
students are building a strike, to defend their rights.
On March 27 at the Adcesp Assembly, teachers opted for the strike on March 18 and in the
first week of class there will be mobilizations. We at RECC advocate a hard, autonomous
strike, built by teachers and students. But we must not forget the 2016 strike, when the
students were totally silenced by people who also participated in the strike, saying that
the student guidelines were "superfluous."
Our support for the strike is uncontested, but we remember the need for unity of the
guidelines, and for episodes like what happened in 2016 no more happen. As students, we
need to point out that we are suffering cuts from student scholarships and student aid
programs like PIBIC PIBEU; in addition, cuts in the aid of food and housing. Even paid
monitoring does not exist anymore. This means that UESPI will close the doors for poor
students, or who live in other cities; Many spend the whole day at UESPI without even
food. We live in abandonment, with inhuman cruelty. We urgently need to propose actions
and mobilizations, to conquer and secure our rights!
UESPI, which should be a reference as a pole of production of knowledge is fully sucated:
Since November 2018 we do not have cleaning materials, some classrooms without air
conditioning, broken portfolios, cars with late documents, do not even have money for
fuel. Our library, which should always be updated, is out of date with the materials
offered, with obsolete research and techniques in disuse for a long time.
On March 1st there was an Assembly with the students, something that generated suppressa
was a Student Assembly being called by teachers. In it, it was decided that the student
guidelines would be placed with the teachers. This was a decision of the students
precisely because the student guidelines are always placed in the background.
Education is always attacked by the parasites of the people, our strength is enormous, all
the rights of the working class, student and women were conquered by the people with
direct action and organization, with a lot of struggle, it was not any free will which
sanctioned a law, was the working class organization charging for rights that managed to
achieve its political claims.

Yesterday (09-03), hundreds of workers from the Albino Boa Ventura community participated
in the public act of the International Women's Day at the ACOP (Recyclable Materials
Collectors Association) shed. ---- The event was organized by the FAT (Autonomous
Federation of Workers), the MNCR (National Movement of Recyclable Material Collectors) and
ACOP (Association of Collectors of Recyclable Materials Order and Progress). ---- The
activity began with statements from working women in the community about the need to
reject politicians, and to unite workers in a completely independent way, to fight for a
dignified life. ---- During the speeches the needs of women and the community were raised,
such as the importance of fighting for day care and school, so promised by politicians and
unrealized.

After the debate, the act ended with the community chicken.

It was a moment of reflection, union, leisure and commitment to wage a direct struggle,
without bosses and without politicians, from worker to worker, to achieve a dignified life.

Little by little, the social ties of working poor people are being rebuilt.

The FAT calls on all the workers, the disinherited ones of the world, to follow this
example. If they organize, unite with their equals, without any link with politicians and
governments, from worker to worker, without bosses, with everyone deciding together.

Separated we are humiliated and we live in an eternal misery. United, we are unbeatable
and we will know how to build a new world, where there is neither oppressed nor oppressive.

On 16 March, the entire anti-racist movement will demonstrate in Paris against racism and
police violence, and for the freedom of movement and settlement of migrants. ---- We,
families of victims killed, raped, mutilated, injured by the police ; ---- We, displaced,
tortured, traumatized, persecuted by the State and the system of borders ; ---- We, living
in the popular neighborhoods harassed and humiliated daily by police forces and targeted
by state racism ; ---- Supported by collectives, associations, unions and political
parties ; ---- We will march together, against state racism and police violence ----
SATURDAY 16 MARCH 2019 AT 13:12, PLACE OF THE MAGDALEN IN PARIS. ---- In a context where
police violence, first of all mainly in working-class neighborhoods, is spreading more and
more throughout society,

In a state of emergency constitutionalized where our freedoms recede and state violence is
gaining ground against the entire population, including since November 17 more than 1,000
convictions, nearly 3000 wounded, including a hundred seriously, and over 20 mutilé.es and
1 dead M me Zineb Redouane,

In a context where racism is progressing,

We will protest, against the logic of capitalism that divides to better rule and break the
