Brighton SolFed recently entered into a public dispute with the Sidewinder to get them to
pay compensation for the unfair dismissal of one of their workers. The worker was
dismissed for calling in sick once after having worked at the pub for about nine months.
---- The pressure on the Sidewinder has been rising steadily over the passed few weeks as
the frequency of our pickets increased. With result! Although the Sidewinder still refuses
to pay compensation, they did pay up the unpaid holiday pay, and the management has let us
know they have handed in their notice. ---- It is still unclear whether this means they
will simply move to a new pub or if they have been chased away for good. What is clear is
that this is a victory for our campaign. This result sends a message to all managers in
Brighton that they too may be forced to quit if they unfairly dismiss one of their
workers. It also sends a message to workers that it is possible to fight back against your
boss when you work together in solidarity with your colleagues and others.

Brighton Solfed and the worker will be keeping a close eye on the Sidewinder to see how
the situation there develops and may yet continue picketing if we see reason to, but for
now we are quite content to have seemingly given this horrible employer one last push over
the brink.

An injury to one is an injury to all!

Ebru Firat, is a young woman, with a strong, enthusiastic and courageous personnality. She
is born in a small village in South West of France, in a family of Kurdish origin, and she
grew up in the popular district of Mirail until she came 18 years of age. On March 25, she
turned 28 years old. However, for the third consecutive year, she will be alone to
celebrate her birthday, in a cell of 3 m², in a prison in Turkey. ---- Her crime? Being a
young woman, free and committed, who decided in 2008, at the age of 18, to go to the
Qandil Mountains in northern Iraq. There, in contact with the ubiquitous PKK, she trained
in care and worked as a nurse for several years. In March 2015, while the battle of Kobane
raged, she left to join the Resistance against Islamic neo-fascism, serving as nurse for
the YPG and as interpreter for the International Volunteers. Arrested in 2016 at Istanbul
airport as she was preparing to return to France, the Turkish government retains from its
history only her passage with the Kurdish Resistance and not its commitment against the
Islamic State that, however, the Turkish state also claims to fight. She was sentenced in
November 2016 to 5 years in prison and since serving her term in solitary confinement as a
political prisoner.

As Agnès Casero, her lawyer in France and president of the association ALEIF (Association
for secularism and international mutual assistance of women), recalls: "'It is possible to
enter into communication with her, through our association. She asks because each letter
received gives him a good morale boost! "

We call all those who share the ideals of Freedom, Justice, and Humanity to send to Ebru a
postcard, or a letter or a drawing, or a poem ... The letters we will receive will be
transmitted to Ebru. Idealy we would like Ebru to receive these letters for May 1st, which
she celebrates every year in her cell.

In order for couriers to pass Turkish censorship, they must avoid any political
considerations, and privilege words of encouragement and solidarity.

You can send your electronic messages to contact (at) cnt-ait.info or ask us for the
postal mail adress if you prefer send mail letters.

On Tuesday, March 19, the day of interprofessional strike was marked by a very strong
mobilization in the education sector. One teacher in every second school was on strike !
Amplify the movement and converge on the street on March 30 ! ---- On March 19, the
demonstrations were full of banners and processions of settlements, testifying to an
anchorage of the strike closer to the field. ---- Above all, general assemblies met, and
in many places they were representative, sometimes bringing together hundreds of strikers.
In Rennes, Paris, Angers, Aubervilliers, Niort, Clermont-Ferrand, Gennevilliers, Lyon,
Nanterre ... AG voted the renewed strike next week. ---- In Nantes, the education staff
have led the way since March 11 at a historic General Assembly gathering 460 staff
including 360 of the first degree !

With its first article aimed at muzzling teachers, the Loi Blanquer is a real "  gag law "
that must absolutely be blown up. It would jeopardize the denunciation of the degraded
working conditions by the trade unionists of struggle, would favor the omerta and
authoritarianism already too present.

Parcoursup, the counter-reforms of the lycée and the vocational high school have in common
to push back the school of equality. Massive job cuts lead to the deterioration of staff
working conditions and student learning. There is every reason to get into the fight !

In the current social climate, a strong strike in education would have all its chances
against a government at bay. As in the United States, where the victorious strikes of
teachers succeed each other, it is clearly the renewable strike that brings the balance of
power to its highest level. For that we need general meetings everywhere ! That they are
representative of schools and schools mobilized, that they rely as much on the daily work
demands that on the fight against the "  law gag  " of Blanquer. Let them coordinate with
each other, city by city and even beyond.

LA education activists, whether unionized in SOUTH, CGT or FSU, are doing this. It is for
a school of equality, for an emancipatory school that we lead this fight. Long live the
strike !

On Saturday 23 March at 14.00 on the Dam in Amsterdam the national anti-racism
demonstration 'Samen Against Racisme,' will be organized annually by the Committee 21
March. AFA supports the need for a broad anti-racism movement and with it the importance
of this demonstration. ---- We were pleasantly surprised to find that Committee 21 March,
in its own call this year, rightly pays a lot of attention to the danger of the
ever-expanding global advance of the extreme right, both in politics and in the streets.
We also endorse in particular the criticism they voiced for the right-wing political and
'left-wing' political parties, which gives the extreme right more and more room.
In previous years we have often seen that political parties such as the SP and GroenLinks
walk with a lot of show at the Together Against Racism demonstration in order to get in a
good position, while in the meantime they are simply cooperating in the development and
implementation of racist and oppressive policy. This is of course disgusting. We think it
is important that the demonstration is not hijacked by party politics and insincere,
superficial sounds. We therefore call on everyone to come to this demonstration and to
join our radical anti-fascist and anti-racist bloc. With this block we want to stand for
bottom-up, militant, anti-capitalist anti-racism. For total freedom of movement for
everyone and a strong anti-fascist sound. Moreover, we want to emphasize that the fight
against racism and the extreme right is being waged every day. In politics, in the media,
and on the streets. We hope that our bloc will be a call for a powerful, sustainable,
active organization against fascism and all forms of oppression that goes beyond
participation in this demonstration.

Come and take the street with us. Don't give fascism a chance!

The mass shootings at two Christchurch mosques on 15 March that left 50 dead and 50
injured as of 21 March stands as one of the worst instances of far-right violence of the
21st century. The shooter is Brenton Tarrant, a 28-year-old white supremacist and
self-described "ethno nationalist eco fascist." ---- PUSH stands in solidarity with the
Muslim community of Christchurch, throughout New Zealand, Australia and the world. These
communities have been subjected to vilification and persecution, which has only escalated
since 9/11. ---- Fascists like Tarrant are influenced by an alarmingly organised and
growing far-right movement. As the world economy continues to disintegrate and living
standards suffer, governments use racism, xenophobia and Islamophobia to create scapegoats
for people to blame. Fascists become the shock troops of racist governments trying
desperately to hold up this crisis-ridden economy. New Zealand is no exception, and
Christchurch has been home to a number of neo-Nazi and far-right groups.

The ongoing conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, Pakistan and beyond - and the
resulting demonisation of anyone from West Asia - create the perfect conditions for
fascist Islamophobic violence. The War on Terror - now nearly two decades old - has
provided racist governments with endless opportunity to target the very same peoples they
are killing abroad. The flow of refugees from West Asia - which our governments have
created through their never-ending wars - has been smeared as the cause of falling living
standards, when the real culprit, as always, is the profit-hungry 1%.

This scapegoating plays directly into the hands of the global far-right, who use the
misdirected anger of people like Tarrant to recruit, growing their ranks and increasing
their threat. It is no accident that the massacre in Christchurch, committed by an
Australian citizen, comes after Australian governments, both Liberal and Labor, have spent
two decades demonising refugees, mostly Muslims, and locking them up in Pacific Island
hellholes. It is no accident that it comes after years of racist dog whistling about
terrorism, immigration and crime by Government ministers. And it is no accident that it
comes after a decade or more of intense racist propaganda by the capitalist press, radio
and television media. These have created the climate in which a fascist can find fellow
thinkers and decide to turn words into deeds.

The solution to this threat is the global solidarity of all exploited and oppressed by
this sadistic system. The massive, coordinated demonstrations in cities around the world
against racism and fascism on 16 March are the antidote to the far-right menace. This
resistance is the only way to eliminate the threat of far-right violence effectively and
safely - not handing greater powers to our governments, which enable it. New Zealand Prime
Minister Ardern's gun control legislation and Police Commissioner's paternalistic advice
to Muslims to close their places of worship are deliberate deflections, not solutions. So
are the sinister calls of Australia's Home Affairs Minister, Peter Dutton, and the
Australian Labor Party Opposition Leader, Bill Shorten, to stamp out "extremism" and
"hate," from both the left and right.

The solution lies with us. To be truly effective, this resistance needs to coalesce into a
united front composed of all those who face fascist violence - women, First Nations
people, immigrants of colour and temporary residents, Jews and Muslims, LGBTIQ and
disabled people, sex workers, people on welfare and the poor, unions and the broader left.

PUSH aims to build this united front. To get involved, follow PUSH on Facebook for
information about upcoming actions and meetings.

Today, 24 of march, a second action against IMS Agency and Urban Lodge Hotel took place.
Urban Lodge hotel charges more than 200 hundred euro per night but at the same time they
are refusing to pay salary to the employers. ---- We went inside the hotel with a group of
15 people and spread flyers, stood in the hall with banners and talked to the guests about
the situation. Manager and some staff at reception were defending their boss and the
hotel. The manager said he was aware of workers not being paid and refused to take
responsibility, blaming IMS Agency. After a while he decided to call the cops. Police
didn't show up and we could continue with picketing outside of the hotel for another 30
minutes. ---- Some guests were really supportive and said that they would not have stayed
at this particular hotel if they had known that the workers have not been paid.

For everybody that is working or has been working for IMS group that want to share
information with us or want to demand stolen wages from them, please contact us at:
aga@agamsterdam.org

This action was organized by the
Anarchist Group Amsterdam - Vrije Bond.

Below the text of the pamflet that we distributed.
--------------------------------

HOW URBAN LODGE HOTEL LETS THE EMPLOYEES
PAY FOR YOUR HOLIDAY

We want to inform you about the abusive praxis of URBAN LODGE HOTEL and IMS Group hotel
agency in Amsterdam:

IMS Group is a company which provides employees for several big hotels (as URBAN LODGE
HOTEL) in Amsterdam to work at kitchens, receptions and cleaning hotel rooms. The company
has been active for several years in
Amsterdam.

Since a few months, IMS has not been paying some of their workers while
providing obviously made-up explanations to the affected workers about why they are not
getting paid.

URBAN LODGE HOTEL is fully aware of the situation. In spite of knowing that their staff is
not being paid, URBAN LODGE HOTEL continues to hire people via IMS Agency.

Our affected friend has worked for the last 5 months in URBAN LODGE HOTEL and hasn't been
paid for the last month of work. At this moment they owe her nearly 1.000 € since December
2018. After some attempts to get this situation resolved, they still haven't paid her or
made any progress over this situation. IMS Group thinks they can get away with this
abusive behavior, but they won't!

We are aware of the fact that this situation is not a single person problem. IMS and the
hotels who cooperate with them undermine fundamental rights of employees in the
Netherlands. We call on the employees to stand up and fight back together for their labor
rights and their stolen wages.

The IMS group and the hotels it provides workers for are acting against the law while
employing people in the low-wage labour market, counting on the exploitation of those who
are unlikely to take legal measures against their employer.

This is our second action. As many actions as needed will follow until this struggle gets
resolved, the hotels take responsibility in who they collaborate with and IMS Group pays
every single penny they owe to their workers.

DIGNITY FOR THE WORKERS OF THE FIELD! The CNT-Adra participated in the march called by the
SAT between Campohermoso and San Isidro to demand compliance with the agreement of the
field and demand better working conditions. You can not consent to wages below the SMI nor
that peonages are made that are not quoted. A fraud that extends from the greenhouses of
the east of Almeria to those of the western region. Practices that harm us all ... Who
throws the wage and also who receives your pension today. The income to the Social
Security fund depends on the contributions of those who work now. So remember: Native or
foreign the same working class! ---- Soc-Sat Almería ---- Yesterday we convened a powerful
demonstration that took its path starting with Campohermoso and ending in San Isidro. The
Levant was standing claiming a new agreement for the field and the manipulated, the
payment of the minimum inter-professional salary (SMI) of € 6.90 per hour, enough to fraud
in the price of days, respect and a good treatment in the post of work. Entering the
streets of San Isidro we reached more than 2000 people. Brave workers from Morocco,
Senegal, Mali, Cote d'Ivoire, Ukraine, Lithuania, Romania, Spain, solidarity activists
from France, Germany and England were marching and singing together.

We especially appreciate the support and presence of our colleagues from SAT Jaén , from
SAT Granada , from Cnt-Ait SOV Almería , from Podemos Andalucía , from Anticapitalistas
Almería .

We are not going to stop. We will continue to fight for a better future for the entire
Almeria fruit and vegetable sector! Especially we call on the UGT and CCOO unions not to
give in to the blackmail of the employers at the negotiating table, from here we make an
appeal to these union forces and to all the organizations and collectives of the province
of Almeria that believe in the social justice to add strength and raise new mobilizations.

Typical example of claiming rights and agreement in the Almeria countryside:
