Hello,
My name is Andréa and I'm a businesswoman from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I created a fashion brand for all genders and a personal styling business.
Brazil is an incredibly dangerous country for people who are transgender like me. Since last year's election, violence against LGBT+ people escalated so much. Trans people are the most vulnerable group and we face many other forms of discrimination, like have a hard time getting formal jobs.
That's why I created Capacitrans, a business dedicated to empowering trans women through fashion. I teach other women how to style hair, do make-up, and design and sew fantastic clothing.
When you're pushed down your entire life and told that you shouldn't exist, it's hard to feel worthy of looking good. Capacitrans helps trans women like myself become transformed so we look and feel beautiful, powerful, and capable of facing the world.
But because of the transphobia that exists here, I've struggled to find investors. Without urgent financial support, I won't have the resources to keep my business going.
That's where All Out members come in.
With the help of All Out, I'm trying to raise US$2,000 to invest in a professional sewing machine and sewing supplies, make-up supplies for a year, and a computer for budgeting and marketing.
But I don't plan on stopping there. I dream big, Luc! I have a plan to expand my business throughout the country in the next 2 years.
I didn't want to start my business just to earn money. I wanted to do something that would change lives for the better. With your help, that dream will become a reality.
Thanks for standing with LGBT+ Brazilians!
Andréa Brazil
Founder of Capacitrans
