Clara, main character of the film Aquarius , is not a woman to be confessed. When a large
real estate and building company decides to empty its building to destroy and build a
luxury residence at the edge of the Atlantic, it decides not to accept the colossal sum
proposed for his departure and ... remain alone in the building. ---- His gesture,
individual, is nonetheless a grain of sand in the huge machine " gemination " of the city
of Recife, the director Kleber Mendonça Filho. The film is implacable in its denunciation
of this real estate predation with long teeth. The corrupt patriarch of the company
succeeds his little son, golden boy with a charming smile, freshly returned from his
American business school, whose angel's mouth hides only the determination of the wolf
against his prey. They will do everything to make Clara leave ... but it is necessary to
silence this spring of the film in the form of a coup de theater.

Let's return to the luminous character of the sexagenarian: she radiates the entire film
with her incandescent presence. His great strength is also the trials of life, such as
sickness and widowhood. But it is now running rather mild days, between swimming in the
ocean, evening with friends and musical delights. A life that has become bourgeois.

The reports to his servant testify to this. This is what makes the film interesting: while
denouncing the invasion of Brazilian society by the new god Fric, Clara's character has
ambivalences. But the men around him are so disappointing that most of us are on his side.

The film has an undeniably feminist aspect: we see a 60-year-old woman's body damaged by
breast cancer and a frantic sex scene where the same sexagenarian knows ecstasy.

We see so few so-called old women whose sexuality is valued and well filmed ! Moreover,
the film transpires sexuality: between those who discover it, those for whom the sexual
act is speeding against a wall, those who rediscover it, those who practice it in
collective ...

Behind this sexual saturation, there exists this black world of corruption, financial
shenanigans, moral and physical harassment. Class relations are carefully depicted at the
turn of the road accident of a son or a beach whose separation by a sewer discharge marks
the boundary between two worlds: those who have money and those who do not have one.

Aquarius is a resolutely denunciatory film (the Brazilian elite were not mistaken) and of
great finesse. Clara's character is portrayed in so many paintings that underline the
cultural and urban mutations to which the city of Recife is subjected by capitalist
hoarding and speculation.

As more people realise that climate change is happening, and there's no mainstream
political call to stop it, they are starting to look beyond conventional political
tactics. Writing to politicians, canvassing for votes and having a protest march from A to
B won't cut it. The peace and environment movements have a long tradition of adopting
Non-Violent Direct Action (NVDA) when other tactics fail, without clarifying just what
this means. ---- It is generally agreed that NVDA attempts to achieve aims by peacefully
taking action that either directly reaches the goals or blocks the government or
corporation from conducting business-as-usual (BAU). These are very effective tactics.
Indeed, it can be seen that a strike is a primary example. Workers withdraw their labour
and refuse to conduct BAU until the boss makes an adequate offer. Direct action gets the
goods.

In practice, though, there is more to NVDA than meets the eye. While the peace and
environment movements in Australia are almost totally united in supporting this approach,
there has been much debate around how to go about it. Big campaigns over the Franklin Dam
in the 1980s and Jabiluka in the 1990s were riven by conflicts over this issue. With the
climate movement gearing up to wage an NVDA campaign to #StopAdani, the MACG believes it's
important to understand NVDA a little better.

Sometimes NVDA really is what it says on the tin. People come together to take action that
achieves their goals directly. On other occasions, however, what occurs is Non-Violent
"Direct" Action. The participants go through the forms of Direct Action, without the
substance. The action is symbolic and the intent is to achieve its aims indirectly,
through traditional channels.

Though many examples of such "Direct" Action have occurred in Australia, it is best
illustrated by a particularly egregious case in the United States. Democracy Spring is a
progressive organisation in the US trying to improve voting rights and limit the ability
of rich people to use their money to influence elections - worthy objectives, but very
limited ones. In April 2016, this organisation conducted a march from Philadelphia to
Washington DC, culminating in a blockade of the Capitol Building, the Parliament House in
the US. Over the course of a week, more than 900 people were arrested. An impressive
display of Direct Action, it appeared.

Appearances, though, were deceiving. The "blockade" of the Capitol was a highly
choreographed affair, conducted in close co-operation with the police. There was no
serious attempt to impede access to the building. The arrestees were not even charged,
something which would have clogged up the courts. Instead, they were released after paying
$50 each to a fund that goes to the Washington DC police. This was "Direct" Action as a
mere ritual, a symbol of determination, with the real objective of getting TV coverage
that mentioned "a record number of arrests". It was a media strategy based upon deception.

The difference between NVDA and NV"D"A is usually apparent in the media strategy. In
Direct Action, the primary function of the media strategy is to draw more people into the
action and to deter State violence. In "Direct" Action, its primary function is to
generate mass media attention that affects the mainstream political process. Direct Action
empowers the participants, while "Direct" Action treats them as a stage army, to be
wheeled on and off according to the judgment of the leadership.

The difference between Direct Action and "Direct" Action can also be seen in their very
different treatment by the police. Police in liberal democracies are often quite willing
to collaborate with "Direct" Action as a symbolic spectacle, provided everything is
negotiated properly beforehand and it is understood that there is no actual attempt to
prevent BAU. The police are almost always very hostile to Direct Action. They are the
armed thugs of the State and their job is to uphold an unjust social order. Direct Action
puts the State in the position of either being forced to concede, or to use police
violence to defeat the movement. The larger the Direct Action is, the more violence the
State would require and the more it would be discredited by its response, sparking wider
resistance. It is thus a challenge to the State, something no police force can tolerate.

Now that Adani have announced they intend to build their coal mine and railway line
without borrowing from the banks, the probability of it actually starting work has
increased. If the climate movement wants to #StopAdani, it will have to defeat the
opposition of the Queensland Government. NVDA will be called for. The movement needs to be
clear, though, that "Direct" Action is different from Direct Action.

When a government is firmly in the pocket of the mining companies, it will not be swayed
by a few weeks of TV stories showing pictures of people passively sitting and waiting to
be taken away by the cops. What is required is a movement that knows the police are the
attack dogs of the enemy and they are to be resisted with all the strength and
intelligence we can muster. We need a movement that wants to #StopAdani directly, a
movement that will create facts on the ground that the Government cannot ignore. And this
movement, in challenging the State, will inevitably look beyond it, to a new society with
no State and no cops, and where capitalism is no more.

#STOP ADANI

We, the people demand that we do not have enough money, that we can buy our essential
commodities , because the makers of production machines take what we produce. So ---- 1)
Banks will have to do national taxes. 2) All types of production equipment must be
nationalized --- We do not want any more work, we want more freedom. Because people should
not do that work , which can make machines. ---- 3) Give the machine more work and release
the man! ---- The history of the great independence of the human race is progressing. New
technologies, such as robots and artificial intelligence etc., can help people to be free
from the slavery of all kinds of work and money by using instruments. ---- The ongoing
turmoil and unrest are truly bearing signs of the brutal decline of capitalism. The real
thing is that the free-market economy is not able to provide us with all the great
products produced by the present modern machines.

Due to the single domination of the owner on the production machinery, the field of
labor-grade work has narrowed down. The efficiency, low-cost production opportunities and
modernization of the day-to-day technology are further strengthening the process. All
things are being prepared for the next day. It's a positive side. People should not do
what they can do by machines.

Heaven or communism is the name of a system where no work and money will exist. All kinds
of technology and civilization will prevail in the system of heaven. In that system people
can enjoy their time freely: Sport, creativity , and can be gleaned in the pursuit ...

And of course, they will love each other like themselves, there will be no hindrance. And
that will be the true vestibule of the heavenly society.

We are the people whose responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of the lives
and property of the people of the world. Keep everything safe from the destruction. The
goal of this social transformation is to ensure ownership. This is our important duty.

It is our responsibility to do this for our next generation. Therefore, I call upon ,
themselves, be involved in the struggle for liberation of this great release!

Free the world's people and make this earthly world heaven!

Inter-establishment Committee of the OZZ IP Sector of Education in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie
Province ---- Although the Workers' Initiative is not a representative of the education
industry at the national level, since the outbreak of the strike organized by the PNA and
FZZ, our committees operating in schools are actively involved in it. The other structures
of the union try to support them in all possible ways. ---- Below we present a summary of
the activities of OZZ Inicjatywa Pracownicza from 8 to 19 April this year. It includes
reports from schools in which our union's structures have been in existence for a long
time and also discussion of solidarity activities that we organized at the local and
national level. ---- Stargard Szczecinski - "We do not withdraw"

The Staff Committee of the Workers' Initiative in Primary School No. 11 in Stargard
Szczecinski joined the preparations for the strike already at the referendum stage, in
which 98% of the staff were in favor of the strike (including administration and service
employees). In the short stance prepared just before the strike, colleagues from Stargard
stated that the strike "is currently the only possible means of pressure on the rulers"
and the recently granted increases were at an embarrassingly low level. Everything
indicates that in this way, most of the employees and employees of the school think -
according to On Friday, April 12, out of 52 people employed at school, 47 people were on
strike (including auxiliary and administrative staff, though in rotational mode).

In the opinion of members of the IP commission, the mood in all schools in the city is
positive: "We do not retreat. Most people are in favor of continuing the strike until
victory. "Importantly, there are also small schools in smaller towns and villages around
Stargard - where it was not possible to organize referenda strikes, the staff protests
going to L4. According to our colleagues, the key significance will now be the
determination of those employed in high schools - with the matriculation exams and the
class councils preceding them, it is impossible to replace strikers with nuns or catechists.

When it comes to the reaction of parents and children, here also positive reactions over
negative ones prevail. Some people spontaneously bring sweets or sandwiches to schools or
ask for a strike fund. If someone is against a strike, he rather expresses his disapproval
on the internet.

In addition to the Employee Initiative (19 people), the SPN No. 11 still operates near the
PNA (12) and until recently also Solidarity, however, all 14 people associated in "S"
discharged from the union in protest against the proceedings of the industry structure
authorities, whose chairman - Ryszard Proksa signed an agreement with the government
agreeing to much lower wage growth than the one demanded by the PNA and FZZ.

Importantly, in Stargard and its surroundings individual schools began to cooperate with
each other - regular meetings of representatives and representatives from individual
striking facilities are organized, where information about the course of the strike is
exchanged and decisions about further actions are made.

Racibórz - "The vast majority for the continuation of the strike"

80-90% of teachers and teachers are out of the total of 140 out of 140 people employed in
school in total (53 of them are employees and administration and service staff) in the
School Complex of Sports Championships in Racibórz. Those who did not join the strike
managed to assemble the supervisory commissions at the lower secondary school exam (from
Monday also to the eighth grade exam) and thanks to that the exam took place. Of the 500
students, 3-5 came to school last week. Parents took care of the rest.

Out of eight unions operating in the team, three entered into a collective dispute with
the employer: ZNP, Solidarnosc and Wolny Zwiazek Zawodowy Solidarnosc Oswiata. But
teachers belonging to all unions and those who do not belong to strike.

"We are flagged with almost all possible flags, over every door," says a representative of
the IP committee and adds that on Friday, 13 April, all the strikers took part in a
referendum to answer the question whether they are suspending the protest. A significant
majority were in favor of a further strike.

There are 8 trade union organizations in ZSOMS Racibórz, the largest of which is the
structure of WZZ Solidarnosc Oswiata (16 people), the second largest association is the
factory committee of the Workers' Initiative (12 people).

Golub-Dobrzyn - "We have the feeling that the government wants to take us for a wait"

The strike is also attended by the inter-enterprise committee of the education sector of
the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. It is made up of teachers and teachers from 6
schools, mainly from Golub-Dobrzyn. According to the state on Friday, 13 April, all
schools under the commission's action were struck and the turnout remained at 80%. In this
region, however, moods are not as militant as in other cities - in some schools, directors
belonging to NSZZ Solidarnosc exert pressure on strikers, there were also cases of people
striking the PNA; In general, relations between various trade unions have been much more
tense in this region for a long time. However, please

In the vicinity of Golub, much less support is also on the part of parents - "the smaller
the place, the greater hostility to the strike and the greater pretension that we do not
deal with children," says the chairwoman of the Workers' Initiative. With the exception of
one, there is no kindergarten.

In general, there is a very strong fear in the region that the government wants to "take
the strikers to wait," and that it will behave as in the case of the protest of the
disabled in the Sejm last year. For many people, there is also a concern about the lack of
remuneration for the strike.

Despite this uncertainty and conflicts, the strike continues, and strikers and strikers
communicate on a regular basis through social media.

Solidarity with the strike of other IP committees

Structure of the union operating in other industries, especially university committees
from Kraków, Warsaw and Wroclaw, has also been involved in supporting the strike. In all
these cities there were rallies of support for the teachers' strike, at which
representatives and representatives of the IP committees operating at the universities
took the floor.

Two demonstrations took place in Warsaw: several hundred people, so under the Ministry of
National Education on Saturday 6 April and a picket at the gate of the University of
Warsaw on Monday 8 April (the first day of the strike) - the second of these actions was
organized by the university PNA, but also supported by the Workers' Initiative operating
at the University of Warsaw. In Wroclaw, during a several thousand rally on the market, a
representative of the IP committee at the University declared:"It is difficult to teach
openness to the world, empathy and listening to others, when you are ignored for years,
when you are despised for years and when you earn miserable money. As a representative of
the Employee Initiative, I want to express my full support for this strike and thank all
teachers and teachers for the hard work they do for very little money. They have a huge
applause . "

A set of support under the slogan "Solidarity University with teachers" was organized in
Krakow by the IP Works Commission at the Jagiellonian University - it gathered several
hundred people, mainly employed at the university, but also members and members of the
Krakow Environmental Commission.

On Wednesday, April 17, solidarity with the strike was manifested by committees from the
cultural sector operating in Warsaw - employees and employees of several dozen cultural
institutions (including those where there are no OZZ IP structures) at At 12:00 they left
their workplaces to symbolically manifest their support for the struggle in education. All
this took place as part of the # WielkaSrodaTlaNeczycieli campaign, which was initiated by
people employed at the Universal Theater in Warsaw.[see the photo gallery on Facebook]

Strike fund and an appeal to join the strike

On April 14, the National Commission published the guide "How to join the teachers'
strike"[see guide], which was directed at those employees and employees who, for various
reasons, have not participated in the strike so far (eg due to the lack of structures
trade unions in their schools). In response to this appeal, 5 new schools appointed
temporary committees of the Employee Initiative and referred to the directors with demands
for increases of PLN 1000 (with compensation from January 1) - in this way they started
collective dispute procedures, which will be crowned with joining the strike action in the
first half of May this year

New IP structures were created, among others in: III High School Jana Pawla 2 in Elblag
(Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship), Zespól Szkól Mechanicznych im. Ludwika Warynski in
Boleslawiec (Lower Silesia Voivodship), Szkola Podstawowa im. Major Henryk Sucharski in
Sadki (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship) and in the School Complex No. 1 Stanislawa
Staszica in Pruszków and the Secondary and Sports Schools Complex in Pruszków. In all
these schools, therefore, there is a strong determination to support the strike and
increase the pressure on the government. Meetings as part of negotiations will take place
after the holidays and there is a chance that during the baccalaureate all these
institutions will be out of strike (if we can win the referendum).

Responding to the voices of committees operating in schools, the National Commission
undertook actions aimed at securing all strikers and financial strikers: a special
fundraising was launched on our nationwide strike fund through the page Czatka.pl - it is
primarily intended for the allowances for striking school staff from smaller towns. There
is a risk that no remuneration will be paid for the period of the strike unless an
agreement is reached that ends the strike on the government - PNA and FZZ line.

The collection can be supported all the time here: https://zrzutka.pl/uccyrn

Epilogue - what after Christmas?

It is not known how the situation will look after the Easter holidays - Slawomir Broniarz
announced that so far about 2 thousand. the outposts withdrew from the strike (for 14
thousand taking part in it). The determination of the strikers, therefore, weakens
slightly, but on the other hand, "Inter-factory Strike Committees" composed of
representatives of striking schools were formed in many cities, which declared that the
strike would be continued "until victory" and the matriculation examinations would not
take place. That was the case in Warsaw, but also in Torun, Bydgoszcz, Kole.

On the other hand, the government proposed ... wage increases by PLN 250 from 2020, while
increasing the amount by 90 minutes (2 lessons). Of course, it was rejected by the PNA and
FZZ. On Tuesday, April 23, a demonstration will take place in Warsaw, and the headquarters
of the PNA will decide what to do with the strike. On Friday, April 26, Prime Minister
Morawiecki announced the convocation of the "Round Education Table" which is to be an open
debate about the reform of the education system in Poland.

Meanwhile, one of the activists of our committee operating in schools in the
Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship just before Christmas, sent the following message to us:

"Dear Colleagues, colleagues are
approaching Easter, which just for us - teachers this year promise to be nervous and sad.
On each side, we are accused of steaks of insults, and the wave of hate that touches us
every day is difficult to bear. In small towns and villages, there is no support, but
there is genuine rage and hatred. People are moving towards intimidation and threatening.

That is why your initiative to raise money for a strike fund and the wide resonance it has
found is like a light among the falling darkness. You give us comfort and hope! And once
again it turns out that ordinary human solidarity and empathy have saving power! We are
truly grateful! I am moved by the fact that people who often have problems and are in a
difficult situation want to help us. I feel embarrassed that successive governments have
put me in a situation where, with my education and experience, instead of helping others,
to work, to counsel and teach, I expect help and support myself. Thank you in my name and
all teachers and teachers! "

As you can see, "the ball is still in the game" and we can neither withdraw nor lose
faith. We are counted on by hundreds of thousands of female employees and education
workers who lead one of the more heroic strikes in the post-1989 period.

A tortitorically we were isolated from the rest of the CNT, back in 1995, the militancy of
CNT Catalunya, feeling CNET as who else, we still believe then and now that
anarcho-syndicalism is the best tool to transform this society and its values. ----
Demonstrated is that we do not use any supposed "change", nor those that are made after
false revolutions that end up becoming tyrannies, nor those that lead the popular
indignation to the polls to trap it and drown in them their demands. With the sights set
on the libertarian society to which we aspire, we were always clear that our opinion as
individuals must be respected and that we must not abide by the rules when they are tried
to impose us without having respected the agreements by which we are governed. Precisely
for failing executive attitudes taken from the general secretaries and because it was
promoting an unacceptable centralism that violated the confederal principles, we were
separated from the CNT. Since then,

They have had to be those attitudes that we criticized in their day - together with the
gradual modifications of the regulations, approved in the last Congresses and which we
could no longer attend - that now contribute to our reorganization. These changes in
operation, among other things, have led to new internal clashes in recent years. The fact
that the same CNT that decided to separate us opted to become a resolutive union - and
little else - could not be assumed for those who defend anarcho-syndicalism. Under that
pragmatism of obvious reformist overtones, direct action was being renounced, labor
disputes began to be referred to a cabinet of very suspicious implantation, and it is
already beginning to be debated that some positions are remunerated.

As happened to us, the diagnosis we made of what was happening has led not a few unions to
criticize this mutation. The consequence has been that some have seen themselves in a
position similar to ours, paragraphs, and others having to make the decision to leave a
CNT that by the steps given was no longer recognized by the International Association of
Workers. (AIT) , to which we have been linked practically since our foundation.

Currently, unions critical of the path initiated by those who are still calling themselves
CNT are reorganized to follow the principles, tactics and purposes of always. Our statutes
and regulations continue to reflect the anar-syndicalist essence that was being lost,
which is why they have the recognition of a TIA that we never voluntarily abandon.

So, for CNT activism, this May Day, the commemoration of workers' day, is also a day in
which we celebrate this new stage, because despite who it weighs, CNT Catalunya is still
alive and has resumed the links with those who do. they defend anarcho-syndicalism.

Let's go to the city with the (next to the FAU Berlin) largest and strongest FAU
syndicate: Hannover. In the city, an exemplary construction process of the
anarcho-syndicalist base union is taking place. In addition to numerous guided and won
industrial disputes, FAU Hannover has opened its own trade union center in the meantime.
In this will also (in cooperation with the FAU) our event take place. Many of the
criticisms we have about the anarchist movement certainly do not apply to the local
syndicate. We think it will still be an enriching evening for both sides and there is
still a lack of general anarchist or anarchocommunist organization in Hannover. We're
looking forward to it!
On May 30 at the FAU-Gewerkschaftslokal, Nieschlagstrasse 1 B - from 19 o'clock
