Dear friends, A doorbell security camera captured a sad scene in San Antonio, Texas. A woman, her face covered by a hoodie, strolls up to a random house with a dog in tow. There, she ties the unwitting female pit bull to a portable basketball hoop and sets down a plastic bag of food. If the video had stopped there, one might not think anything of it. It seems as if a responsible dog owner is about to visit a friend, leaving her dog with some food tied up outside. But that isn't what happens. One minute the pittie — now named Takis — is sitting patiently waiting to be tied to the pole. The next minute she is struggling to get loose as she watches her owner leave her to her behind. Sign to demand justice for Takis, the pit bull who was abandoned by her owner. Luckily, the homeowner found the dog and she was taken to animal care services. In less than 24 hours, someone had already applied to adopt her. But just because Takis is now on her way to a happy home, doesn't mean her previous owner should get off scot-free. According to the Texas Penal Code, animal abandonment is considered animal cruelty and is punishable by law. The woman in the grey hoodie should be found by police and prosecuted for what she did. This story could have turned out much worse for Takis and that is unacceptable.
