They're killing *millions* of cats

Dear friends,
Right now, the Australian government is embarking on a program that is specifically designed to murder two million cats by next year. This gruesome scheme has to end, now!
We're not just talking about simple euthanasia. We're talking about a government plot to shoot, poison, trap, and bounty-hunt outdoor cats. The government itself has been airdropping infected sausages across the country, causing slow, painful deaths to the cats that eat them. More than 211,000 felines have already been viciously killed.
The government announced the plan as part of its Threatened Species Strategy, and was based on an estimate that a supposed 20 million feral cats live on the continent. Experts say that number is a lie, and that regardless, murdering street cats would not actually solve any potential overpopulation problems. Instead, humane, non-lethal solutions — like fencing or neutering through trap-and-release — could do the trick.
Yet the Australian government doesn't seem to care for these less radical, nonviolent choices. They will only listen if you and I speak up now. Sign the petition to demand that Australia end its cat culling, and stop promoting cat-killing ideas to its citizens!
Thank you for all that you do,

P.S. In the next year, Australian authorities are hoping to shoot or poison two million outdoor cats — and they've already managed to massacre more than 211,000. Sign the petition in memory of the hundreds of thousands of felines' lives that have already been lost.
